It was hard to get an estimate, e-mails sent were apparently missed, the office staff was disorganized- and I'm being polite. it was disorganized to the point I felt like they didn't want my business. and setting a date for the work was only marginally less stressful than Noah booking seats on the ark. When the workmen showed up, they had no work order, I got no receipt or anything at all, and they barely spoke English leading to a few misunderstandings. So the work was absolutely first rate but my God, it was a challenge getting it going.

Found they didn't properly seal any of my 6 recessed lights exposed in the attic, and my bath fans weren't vented to proper standards. They used 4 inch non-insulated ducts instead of 6 inch insulated. The bath fan was only venting 29 cfm instead of the 100+ cfm it is rated. They have been non-responsive now to address my concerns. To have it corrected, I used Atlas Home Energy and their quality workmanship far exceed that of York's.

We had no soffit vents and the insulation was minimal leading to the attic being very hot and humid (in the summer) and cold in the winter. We decided we wanted to rectify this and so I did my due diligence and got three separate quotes. Green Stone Energy's was the highest of the three. However, this was mostly due to the fact that they would do everything to modernize the attic, including insulating, air sealing, adding soffit vents, and an attic fan. Other companies tried to tell me the attic didn't need to be ventilated but I knew that wasn't true. The experience from start to finish was great. Erick was with us through the whole process. I was most impressed by his professionalism during the quote and throughout the attic modernization. All of the workers involved in installing the insulation/ventilation were very polite and walked me through exactly what they were doing. I have temperature sensors throughout the house and so I can already see what a huge difference it's made in keeping the house at a more comfortable temperature.
