I got my solar panels from RENU in December last year. One of the highlights of my experience with…read moreRENU has been the convenience of their mobile app, which lets me easily track my solar energy generation and consumption. It's intuitive and gives me a clear picture of my energy use in real time. RENU's technical support team has also been helpful, answering my questions and ensuring everything functions smoothly. This level of support has given me a lot of confidence in my investment. Since installation I have saved a lot of money on electricity and expect the system will pay itself up in a few years. I expect energy prices to increase, and I feel good having my solar system in place. The quality of the panels and inverters speaks for itself, and I am impressed by the durability and efficiency of the system. Although the installation process took a bit longer than I anticipated, RENU's crew was thorough and professional, especially during the initial roof inspection. The actual installation was seamless, thanks to the expertise of the crew, who completed the work with minimal disruption. Overall, I am very satisfied with both the product quality and the service from RENU.

I am giving 1 star because 0 stars was not am option. Here is a long list of my concerns…read more Last August of 2025, I purchased a home solar system from Renu for a 10MW system spread over 3 array systems on my back porch roof, my back roof and my side roof. It took some time to finally get installed in November of 2025. When the install occurred it was done by a sub-contractor team from Florida that was a bit unprofessional and I had several issues with the install team and the install itself Including: * They left my job half unfinished for a few days until they returned * They made a mess of backyard with garbage strewn about and left garbage, debris, nails, and screws all over the back porch roof and back roof * They broke several shingles along the edge of my back porch roof with their ladders during the install * Some of the solar panels they installed were broken, and they left many of the connection wiring simply laying on the roof instead of correctly installed * And the most concerning is that they left several holes in my roof during the install, damaged other shingles with their safety ropes/harnesses and I continue to have some minor leaking issues in my ~3-year-old roof ever since the November install. I first reported the leaking in one of my spare bedrooms to the Renu team in December of 2025, but due to the harsh winter it took until mid-March for the team to come and do some remediation. In March - one of the Renu technicians came and found several drill holes that the sub-contractor team created and left without remediation, when fixing the broken panels. I provided about a dozen shingles, and he did his best to fix the issue of roof drill holes as well as the broken porch shingles, bad wiring, and broken solar panels. Even after that repair in late March, I am continuing to have minor water leak issues. Yesterday on 5/7 another team from Renu was at my house to install a critter guard due to an unrelated squirrel/critter guard issue. During their time at my house, I showed one of the guys that the water stain in my spare bedroom was getting darker/worse, and that I now have an additional small water stain mark forming in my office ceiling. (For context, the spare bedroom and office share a wall and the spots are roughly the same area on both sides.) One of the Renu technicians was very nice and accommodating and did his best to inspect the roof from above as well as enter my attic crawl space. During his brief inspecting he found even more drill holes in the side roof array where he could see clear daylight in my crawlspace, and he mentioned he possibly found the source of the water leak along the back wall, as well as some additional broken shingles along the ridge vent from where the subcontractor crew attached their rope/safety harnesses.

This is our story of installing a small residential solar system with a large electric grid…read moresupplier in a municipality of few such installations. At the beginning we knew nothing, yet we had a long strong history of working with restoration and building contractors, but this was a new rodeo! We realized the challenges of getting unbiased information about a solar installation; its reliable components; its financial aspects (beginning to end); product and installers' warranties; and dealing with municipality codes, electric grid net metering procedures, tax credit, and SRECs. While there are a number of internet sites claiming to help, many are either installers with their own particular services, financial come-ons, and system products, or "ANGI" type sites who have collected such installers. There are YouTube presentations, but again there might be agendas by presenters, rather than unbiased info. We found UnderstandSolar.com and SolarUnitedNeighbors.org to be comprehensive and helpful. We researched and gathered information, then we developed installer interview standards and questions, as well as objectives and particulars wanted within our contract with any installer. Now we reach out to installers. While we would have preferred to support local installers, the email/text responses cascade in from both 'national' installers and from 'ANGI' sites. Ironically, even though our some of our local installers are members of 'ANGI' site, none of them are passed to us. The nearest installer offered was 200 miles away...ah service from a distance "when we get enough clients in your area, we'll contact you". SOLUTION: Reach out to our Real Estate and banking folks...ah, let's get local! We were recommended to BRIGHTEYE SOLAR, LLC... "We went with Josh cuz we knew the family and he did our first business system, but BRIGHTEYE SOLAR offered a better price, warranty, and service, you should check them out." After interviewing five other local installers (within 30 miles), each addressing, as best they could or wanted to, our interview standards and contract wishes, BRIGHTEYE SOLAR's Dan showed not only his personal and professional attention to us, but also confirmed that BRIGHTEYE SOLAR does the same. Our initial meetings with Dan were followed up with email and phone question/answer sessions. At contract signing time we met with the company's owner Jim to create and agree with a mutually constructed comprehensive contract and system proposal (location, components, warranties, time-lines, follow-ups, etc.). Within two weeks a knowledgeable crew of Adam (electro-tech), R.J. and Sam carefully explained and completed the 17 PV panel installation in two days. They kept the work site clean, orderly and made adjustments based on our on-site preferences, which did not violate the site plans provided to us by BRIGHTEYE SOLAR's client contact Yvette. Yvette expertly resolved all the inspections, net metering contracts, and SREC contracts with continued email/phone contact with us. Project manager Austin confirmed the system's effectiveness on day 2 of installation; was present for municipal site inspections (passed); and effectively established the system internet monitoring, and its net metering with the SREC service. So, the story's continues...we did the necessary homework; determined what we wanted in a system and who we wanted to work with based on shared criteria; went through the people processes to find a firm, which was personable, professional, accommodating, comprehensive its service and communication; and followed through with integrity to our system's completion. Don't believe us...go with BRIGHTEYE SOLAR. Ask them for our contact so you can verify our solar success story... we await your contact! Yup...great price for value of products, installation, and service.

I have never dealt with a company so unresponsive and unprofessional. Yvette Turner who is the point of contact there is THEE MOST unprofessional representative I have ever dealt with. I have no idea how that person still has a job at Bright Eye. For the amount of money we spent on this system, if it wasn't already installed on my roof, I would have canceled my contract with them. The owner of the company is a nice guy and has been working out the major issues we came across however, when it comes to trying to get ahold of some one when needed no one answers emails or the phone with urgency. This company also operates out of PA and serves Maryland however, if you live in Frederick the electrical permits required are different than most Counties/States so be prepared for a lengthy delayed process in permitting. I would recommend working with a solar company that has been serving your local area for a while so they know what to expect.
