Had the most appalling experience at the Selah Branch today. Since Covid their customer service has gone down hill, no tellers and not even greeted upon entering the branch. It was the most awkward encounter and to make things worse when o did get service she was rude. Furthering this experience, I made a comment on their facebook to only have it deleted. At the end of the day Solarity lacks genuine customer service, and could care less about complaints since they like to delete them and based on their yelp review I can see I am not the only unhappy customer. This was such a wonderful place before the leadership changed. Ever since then, they have tanked customer service in every imaginable way, including getting rid of as many direct staff who actually help people as they can. This is all while putting out commercials, billboards, and statements about how they offer wonderful customer service. I saw an appalling transaction in the lobby on Summitview in which an elderly woman who had been a customer for decades (she said so) was begging for help, and they just kept telling her how she was now responsible to do everything herself, through the ATM. At the end, in the face of all of her frustration and fear, they smiled at her and said, "Is there anything else we can do to help you?" I felt like going up to the staff member and saying, "What was the first thing you did to help her? You have to help her first, before there can be something else you can do to help." Maybe I should have. We have slowly moved our accounts out, and know several others who have done the same. The leadership seems bent on making this an internet bank instead of a credit union, which is supposed to be there to help its members and not to function like a big bank. Now Solarity functions worse than a big bank. Big banks, for the most part, still have people in the lobby who will help with deposits and withdrawals, and real drive-throughs that are staffed. Solarity now builds buildings to house ATMs that you must use yourself. Now that's customer service! In my life, I have never seen another go so far downhill as Solarity. The saddest part is that it seems to be, it must be, by design. read more

I used to love this bank but at least on 5th ave, I hate it. They took out the people in the drive in bank. Now if you want to do any transactions involving a real person you have to go inside, then they try to make you use the ATM inside. It's SO FRUSTRATING. I pretty much have stopped using this bank. A day that I have to do business at Solarity on 5th ave is a bad day. One can not walk up to a teller and deposit money. You must have a debit card and go to a machine and have no interaction with a human. That leaves me to believe that Solarity managers must think their customers are infected with a dreadful disease. Deplorable customer service. Correction! Actually, NO customer service except for employees that will assist you to learn their ATMs so you can assist yourself. And these same employees will extol/brag how marvelous the new ATMs are and how the customer should be happy for these state-of-the-art ATMs. I am not impressed with this new path that Solarity is pursuing. There is a time and place for ATMs and there is also a time and place for conversations between the customer and their banker, in person and not a ZOOM call. I agree with the previous reviewers concerning the human interface problem and now the improbable contact option they offer on their website. Calling is a mind wracking wait while you listen to someone's idea of "music" only to finally give up and try to use email which cannot be done without using a Google captcha login instead of the former Solarity login. If there was a way to provide a review without stars I would certainly give them a blank rating and plan on finding a different financial institution in the near future. read more

The representative who filled out my loan over the phone made multiple errors which were then caught by the underwriter and had to be correct. I say errors but I explicitly asked them if what they were doing was allowed. Ignorance is not an excuse for loan fraud. read more

Solarity does not do a very good job with communicating with executors of an estate. They claim that there was no documentation of my having been named executor. When in fact I had gone in to the Nob Hill branch, provided death certificate, letters testementary my drivers license and spoke to a young man by the name of Noe. Trying to close the estate I called twice and they kept saying that there were. I records of The saving or checking accounts, just the mortgage. The third time I called the accounts magically appeared, but no one knew how to give me documentation! Really?? This was such a hassle and very unprofessional. read more

Terrible business. I had a $50k loan with Solarity for a camper and let the insurance lapse (100% my fault) while it was in storage.....I just forgot about it. So Solarity emplaces "their insurance" on the camper for the time that it had lapsed. They charged a rate of $7k per year for coverage on a $50k camper. To put it in perspective my USAA insurance that had lapsed was at a rate of about $800 per year. Solarity has completely unethical and predatory business practices. I will never do business with them again on principal alone and yes I am back with USAA for insurance coverage. read more

I love how nice and helpful everyone is at this establishment. They went through a branch transformation during COVID and now they have many smart ATMs that help with all transactions. Inside branches they have guides to help you if you have any questions. I live on the east coast and I love their online and mobile banking apps. Transfers are done within seconds and I have many ATMs I can use here without a fee. If I have any questions I can easily call, chat or go online. read more

I wouldn't even give them one star. Gap Insurance paid off my totaled car, except for $33 apparently. I was never told, and after the pandemic, they reported it to my credit bureau instead of contacting me. I've asked for grace since they never said anything to me, and they said nope. I'm so sick of the greediness of these banks. Their support has been continuously atrocious and I highly recommend you turn down any car loan or other loan from them. If there was a zero star they have achieve it. I have been working with this credit union for over 40 years first starting with Yakima Valley Credit Union and combining with Catholic Credit Union. I have never in my lifetime experience such incompetence in one credit union. Over the last five years this business has went from good to no good Debit cards and credit card being sent out to the wrong addresses 3 different times even after we updated our addresses on all our accounts before we sold our farm and moved. Making appointments and then not showing up by tele-conference at the credit union for time sensitive wire transfers. We were there early for the appointment. Representatives being put in for stop gag control that doesn't know what they are doing. Thus causing the transaction to not be processed in time to reach its destination when needed. Said representative not listening to our directions because he thought he knew what to do when he was totally lost. After 40 years I am looking for a new credit union. This situation is so sad. Its ok for a debit account but not for a loan I have a trailer loan through this company and they only send out quarterly statement's which really bothers me. I confirmed they were shady when they tacked on fees at every possible corner. And even made me pay 600 dollars for not having insurance on my trailer THE FIRST MONTH i bought it. But wait, they didnt tack it on until 3 months later. Theyre online services also fall short. I can rarley make extra payments or see any sort of balance information without having to call and talk to someone. I wish we could give zero or negative stars but one star is where I'll start now. In 1979 my family moved to town and my father opened an account at a little Credit Union where we banked for the next 25 years. When Solarity came along as the new bank being the new guy my spidey sense tingled and sure enough the knowledgeable professional employees were let go and $12hr bank no lies in Kakhies and Polo shirts left behind Gap Life for Bank Life. I asked a variety of questions and it seems like they really don't know much about transfers, wiring money or inter branch communications. The manager (if you can call her that) didn't know either and had to get on the phone where she didn't return. The 25 years of relationships I had dissolved as the 20 something goobers in gap clothes showed up to create problems whenever I went into the bank. Yes they were trying to be helpful but I don't need a new saver double cookie checking account. I need you to do small things right and I'll consider a home loan when you've been reliable. Long story short I closed my account as did my family so three mortgage reserve checking accounts, four or five car loans, two lines of credit and how many thousands of dollars in deposits we took elsewhere. Paul Regimbauld was the president of the bank and ran this place great. Solarity is a consortium of half baked bankers with micro management looking over third shoulder and pressuring tellers to push services on me. read more

The only reason I am giving them two stars is because a very nice, competent young lady at he 56th avenue branch was very helpful, informative and kind. Kudos to her. This is after an hour wait for phone customer service and a trip to the 5th avenue branch where Bevas and Butthead said duh I don't know to my question. I was told call customer service. I again waited 45 minutes for someone who also didn't know how to help me. She told me she would check with tech services and "call me back". We both knew that wasn't going to happen. My hero at 56th avenue figured out the problem pronto ( sorry didn't get her name). I've been with this credit union since 1975. The customer service stinks. BEWARE: Forced Insurance Predatory Behavior. I purchased a travel trailer a few years ago on a Solarity loan for $26k. I forgot to purchase insurance for about 5 months. They sent a notice that they had purchased insurance for me, at a one-year premium of nearly $4,000 tacked onto my loan back-dated to the purchase date. I immediately purchased my own insurance at a small fraction of this cost and was refunded $2,200. Yes, I forgot to buy insurance and that's on me (you got me!). But $1,800 for a 5-month policy? That was pure robbery. I will never do business with Solarity again and have since warned everyone I can to avoid them. read more

The cash machines seem to have a performance issue every time we go. Out of receipts, out of cash, won't accept cash deposits etc. After waiting in long lines we usually end up having to drive to the other location which sometimes has the same issue. read more

If I could make it 1 star I would. DO NOT GET AN AUTO LOAN THROUGH THESE GUYS. Together with their forced insurance they will charge you an addition $55 per month because I was what cost me an additional $12 per month short on coverage. Lies about claiming g some insurance audit company tried to reach out in June of 2020 which did not happen. Others have said the same and yet how does any honest bank or credit union charge $55 per month additional for full coverage when it came to $12 more per month. So between Solarity and Progressive, neither company noted thelat it was not full coverage until Solarity had a year to claim the extra $55 permonth!!! Shame on Progressive as well... the agent clearly saw there was a lender. read more

Gotta update my review since this is basically the 100th time Solarity has failed to do their job. Solarity is by far the worst bank in the valley if not the entire country. This branch on 50th is the worst with an absolute lack of quality employees. They were solid staffed awhile ago but since they got the larger guy with a huge attitude and the Hispanic gale with dyed blonde hair on her high horse they've really gone downhill. 1st off; Awhile ago an ex of mine basically jacked my account and was overdrafting it hundreds of dollars. I was begging and pleading with Solarity to remove me from the account but they assured as a bank they could do nothing to protect me and I was basically the victim of identity theft and a financial hostage who has to deal with the consequences. 2nd; went to refinance my car and their employee decided to turn his screen to face me and I saw in bold letters "customer suspected of suspicious activity" UMMMMM. What!? What is wrong with you guys? Just because I make more money than you do in cash tips via the job I work that makes my income sketchy compared to you as a sketchy bank? Should be marked in bold letters "we are a sketchy bank". Judging people due to not understanding their situations won't get you far Solarity. 3rd; charges going through on my account for months Solarity assured me they couldn't block. So I demanded to close my account since as a bank they fail to protect my money in any way what so ever. They told me they couldn't close my accounts as the charges I wanted blocked were pending so I'd have to wait. I asked for solutions and the blonde haired gale I mentioned just rushed to try and close my accounts and send me out the door. Basically trying to get rid of customers. I contacted fraud and they told me they'd challenged the charges and return the money. I checked recently and hundreds more dollars have been drawn out of my accounts that should have been blocked or stopped due to fraud. The fraud department never contacted me to tell me they failed to block charges. So I asked for a new card as they assured me this would for sure block the charges. Nope. No charges blocked. So now I'm getting an entirely new card which they are telling me they'll have to charge me if I ask again? Wth? Due to your mess ups!? Naw. I asked for a new card to block charges you all were aware of it and issued me a new card that would allow old charges to continue to go through. 4th; I went to pick up my card at a specified time. There are fires out the air is smoky and humid. I have places to be and my clothes shouldn't be soaked in sweat due to waiting outside a bank door past my specified time to grab my new card. So I left and was assured I'd have my new card in 7-10 business days in the mail. No card yet. I have bills due today. How am I supposed to pay them Solarity? Literally a completely incapable bank. They prefer financially illiterate people who keep tons of money in savings accounts with 0.000008% interest so that they can rob you basically and use your money to invest in and profit themselves while keeping all the profits and not even performing basic bank duties like protecting your money or getting you cards in timely manners. They have messed up something in every loan we have had with them, whether it be not taking out the correct amount, or taking it out of our bank account on the wrong date, etc. That is just unacceptable to me. Once, I understand, but at least 4 times now....we will not work with them in the future. Also purchased our house from an employee of Solarity and original appraisal came in very low compared to asking price....then seller said, oh use this guy and they paid for it and of course it came out on point. Lots of issues with house, I wish we were not between a rock and a hard place when we had to find a place after selling our own home......very fishy to me! Everyone is nice up until you need actual help from them. I have been given the run around on a fraud claim. The fraud department couldn't help me because they are hard to understand and the bank provided some help but they don't communicate with one another. I was denied my claim due to the form expiring while I was trying to gather the information they asked for and tried to work to get my money back from the merchant. They then said they could reopen the claim and to wait to get a letter in the mail. It never came. I spoke to more than 7 employees locally numerous of times. Each one understanding my plight. But when I spoke to Jocelyn today, the supervisor. I thought I may finally after months of calling in, expected to get an answer and my money back. No. She forward me to the fraud department and left me hanging. After she reviewed my account and supposedly read all the notes. I suppose being off on time was more important than getting a member the help they needed. I am done. I am not getting my money back, it's apparent. Please don't get fraud on your account. No one will help you in the end. They pass you to some outside office that doesn't care about you and takes no responsibility for their lies and unwillingness to help. I have been getting loans from Solarity Credit Union for about 10 years for my rentals and have always made payments just like clock work and my credit score is great. I went in to get a loan through a new loan officer Ben Beckman and he told me they would give me a loan for 175,000 as a line Credit which I was needing with in a month then as the time got closer he changes it to 100,000 as I am needing to close the deal on the house I am trying to buy very soon I agree to that and then as after over a month of trying to get them to have the line of credit he tells me they cannot do the loan at all because they do not like the way my houses look that are supposed to get me the line of credit and now they wont give me any money after a month of promises. We came back not even 10 minutes after withdrawing and reported it and they confiscated it like they should but then told me sorry you're out $50. they have no mora compass when it comes to doing the right thing. i have proof with receipt and they have video but they can't repay the $50? Only gave an extra star because of how good Solarity USED to be. The past 2 years they've gone so far down hill it's sickening. As others in the reviews have said, they sneakily tack on all sorts of fees onto your loan accounts. They don't tell you, but it takes them around 2 days to post your loan payment. So, if you make your loan payment on the day it's due (which, times are hard these days so, I'm sure I'm not the only one making payments on the day they're due) you will without a doubt get hit with a $25 late fee. I don't see how you can get charged a late fee if your payment is not technically late. If your online payment portal processes the payment on the 20th, why then is this bank not applying the payment until the 22nd? To charge late fees. And almost all of the Solarity locations in my town have closed down so it's not all that easy to physically go into the bank and make the payment. I also rarely come acrossed competent and friendly employees at Solarity bank locations. I once thought I'd have all of my car, rv and watercraft loans through Solarity. Now, once all of my current loans are paid off I will be completely done with this bank and that can't come soon enough read more

Do not use this company! They will add extra charges on if at all possible. As a couple of other reviews have stated...I there is any alpse at all on transferring insurance this company will charge you an outrageous fee for this gap...and guess what they don't have to worry about a claim being made because it is in the past during a time period where nothing at all happened to incur a claim. They rip you off at the first opportunity....Oh and they wait for 3 to 4 months before they let you know they are taking on the charge!!! Stay away from them!! read more
