First, they were prompt, and were here when they said the would be (5 stars) Second, they were professional, and offered actual guidance other than, "Yeah, we can do that. " Third, price was fair. Fourth, Arturo of Sierra's had suggestions for the future. He and his people have extensive knowledge of the local area, and how to prepare for the future growth of our yard which is heavily wooded. Fifth, their arrival was prompt and they were very well-equipped. Sixth: Insurance is readily available, and safety protocols were followed. Any concerns were quickly alleviated. One tree was enormous, around seventy feet, and with ropes, the climber excuded such confidence as not to worry us. There was a great deal of clean-up, and I felt they would have to come back the next day. But, Arturo ensured us they would power through. Though it took until sunset, and basically all day, the job was finished as he said it would be. We have more work to do, and we'll no doubt be incorporating Sierra & their crew. The teamwork was seamless and safe, and I trust their opinion how to best use this land & property. I've dealt with those companies, as many have, where I'd like the opportunity to give even fewer than one star. Sierra's, in my experience, I could give even better than five. I don't give these kind of reviews lightly: these are people I would recommend highly, as in the future I intend to contact them directly. I just can't imagine better work, nor better service.

He does have a few companies that he refers out to, and he connected me with Garcia's Tree Service. We had a price quote quickly, but no detail on what it covered. I reached out to Garcia's but had trouble connecting with them over a few days, so called Mark back for help. He was very responsive, quick to get me the answers I needed, and the work was done quickly after that. The best part (aside from working with Mark), they left my yard in great condition, no mess, no fuss. Aside from the fact that the trees are now gone, you wouldn't know any workers had been on site. I am so impressed with everything about my experience with Metcalf Tree and Landscape. When the…read morewinter storm of Jan 2022, took a tree out, obstructing our driveway, they came over very quickly and made our driveway passible and then returned and took down the badly damaged tree. We have known of them and their good community service for years. We also chose them because they are licensed and insured - and not everyone is. Later, I asked for an estimate about other trees that had been damaged by the storm and by neighbors trees that had fallen on some of our trees. They gave me an estimate that was clear and explained exactly what they would do. It took a bit of time for us to save up to have this work done. When we let them know we were ready, they were here the next day to begin prep work. With their very busy schedule I know we lucked out. From start to finish, they were professional, friendly, efficient beyond measure, and thorough. They were able to get all nine trees down in one day. They even came blew any Ieft over saw dust out of the driveway. During their work here, they checked in by phone (to let me know they'd be back to tidy, to ask about relocating vehicles, etc.) All the men were very polite and courteous. They clearly knew exactly what they were doing. As if that wasn't enough, the wood we had taken down will become part of their charity, Start A Spark, which provides free wood to families in need who heat with wood burning stoves. While they were reasonable in the timeframe for the estimate (within a week), we waited for 2 weeks before reconnecting with them them about getting scheduled since we had heard nothing. At that time, they told us that they were scheduling us for Nov 25th. That time has come and gone - I just reached out to them today (Dec 2nd) - a week later - and they informed me that tomorrow (Dec 3rd) was the makeup day in case the 25th didn't work out. Problem is, WE weren't kept in the loop on any of their scheduling/changes. They responded when I texted, but the response consisted of more apologies, just like the first time when they neglected to keep us informed. We were looking for a partnership to help us manage our tree population. Now we have to go through the research process all over again to find someone reliable, which apparently, Metcalf is not.
