The front counter attendant was fantastic and explained each bed and it's features. They have a bed that allows mirrors to tan your face in lieu of being in the bed (for those who don't like enclosed spaces). Stand up, lay down, spray tan. Ranging from cheap to expensive dependant on the bed. Usually I don't write reviews this long and detailed. But this place is sort of misleading itself and I would hate to see my neighbourhood tanning salon be underestimated!

The machine only had solution that came out of one half of the machine. I brought it to the attention of the staff member who was working who advised to contact her once I showered to let her know if it developed ok. I contacted her the next day when I got out of the shower to find one side of my body tanned and the other with no colour at all. I sent her pictures and she advised that she would get back to me after speaking with the owner. By the time I heard back I was already on the plane so she left a voicemail telling me that I would have a free spray tan on my account for whenever I needed it. Fast forward to today when I attempted to use said tan. The manager was a complete bitch right from the get go and gave me attitude refusing to go out the tan. She then called the owner who also refused to allow me to use the tan even though I still have the voicemail to confirm the situation. I had been more than willing to pay for the tan if there was an issue when I first walked in but after the disgusting attitude I just walked out and will be going else where. The salon is filthy and dated. Staff are rude and nasty. For a business that never seems to have anyone in there they sure don't seem to appreciate the customers they actually have walking thru the door. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere

The float tank is futuristic looking, all white and clean with blue glowy lights, and a voice that sounds like the Starship Enterprise. The water is warm and full of epsom salts, and particularly high in mineral magnesium. The machine is automated with music, lights, and self-cleaning. The experience was dreamy. I found myself adjusting my spine a lot in the beginning and consciously releasing unconsciously tense muscles. By the end, I wanted the full sensory deprivation experience by turning off the lights and music. Floating around in black silence is incredibly therapeutic and relaxing! I'd highly recommend this for anyone who is feeling overstimulated, such as new parents or if you just met a crazy deadline and want to unwind and re-centre yourself. I felt like I had a really good massage without the pressure. The owner, Eric, gave us an awesome intro and tour. He answered all of our questions. The facilities are great. After the session they clean and wipe everything down. They provide pretty much everything. I recommend bringing shower flip flops and body moisturizer. The salon is clean, comfortable and never too busy - plus their hours are great. Eric is a wonderful business owner; he goes out of his way for his clients and hires some of the best customer service/front desk attendants I have met - they remember your name, have your lotion ready for you and have a bed set up as soon as you walk into the door! No one at Midnight Sun is pushy and they won't force their services on you (like other salons who push unneeded products or packages), but at the same time they are knowledgeable and professional of their services and tanning in general. After I sat down and she started I should of just said forget it, the nail tips kept sticking to her fingers instead of to my nails, dropped the glue on the ground and asked me to pick it up, used only a nail file, didn't cut the tips even length.
