What a horrible person the owner of this establishment is. Her arrogant and lack of communication is terrible. She won't allow you to speak or ask questions, she will treat you like a child or worse talk down to you. She keeps on leading with the fact "I'm the owner" and goes on to abuse you and not appreciate your business, which I gave them for year, then it's a tell sign of pure arrogance. I was only trying to understand the difference between beds and she won't allow me to speak. I must say she must have bought this place from a previous owners who understood being courteous. Don't let Jocelyn, the manager, find out you have your own pair of disposable eye protection (stickers) she'll ream you for it. She'll promise to charge you next time no matter what (they're a freaking dollar). I tried to calm the situation by suggesing maybe the girl who sold them to me when I'd signed up the week prior gave me an extra pair? (Who cares how or why the hell I have my own disposable eye protection?) She looked her up said, "She wouldn't do that she's already on probation for sales theft. I'll be checking the cameras. Next time I charge you no matter what." Ok??? Two to a ten much? Thanks for the unprofessional amount of insight into whatever personal problems you're having with your employees. I've been doing spray tans for the last 8 years, I found Solace 2 years ago and absolutely LOVE them! Their solution makes me naturally bronzed and none can ever tell the difference and I am consistently being complimented on it. I would be embarrassed to have such a rude employee working at the front desk of my business. This is not the type of individual you want representing your business I showed up for an appointment, there was an issue with the booking and instead of helping to rebook or find a slot I got spoken to extremely rudely and accused of lying. I have been going to Solace for about a year and am very pleased each time I go. The place is clean, there's a good variety of beds and different packages. They also do have promotions on tanning and lotions from time to time. Their pricing is fair for a downtown location and powerful beds. The staff is very friendly and they know their products and packages well. I usually go walk-in and I either get a bed right away or have less than 10 min to wait. Only two downs is that their rooms could use a better lighting, it's a little too dark. It's also hard to find parking nearby. read more

Great experience at Solace. The salon is very spacious. The tanning rooms are big and they have extra towels, hair ties, make up remover wipes and deodorant at the customers' disposal. Since I had no tan and it was my first time, I was only allowed 5 minutes of tanning as per the rules. The bed in Room 1 is pretty strong so I suggest going slowly. Solace doesn't let you jump by more than 2-3 minute increments each time. The prices are fairly competitive and they have a couple of options for lie-down and stand-up beds, as well as UV-free spray tanning. I was initially drawn to this salon because they have an infrared sauna which I tried and loved. Make sure that the temperature in the sauna is 65F prior to entering because otherwise you will not sweat. read more

I've been going to Solace off and on for about 10 months and I really enjoy it. I don't tan a whole lot so whenever I do tan, I come here. Staff is nice and friendly, they always answer the phone and they love my dogs when we come in. This whole area along the water front has dog bowls full of water and the salon allows your pups to wait at the front desk while you tan (they love to play with the puppies!) Beds are strong and the salon is clean. They have a great variety of packages, they have a great selection of lotions and I've never had to wait more than 5 mins for a bed on walk-in and I've never had an issue with getting the bed I wanted when I called 30 mins ahead. They have lots of towels, deodorant and make up wipes as well which I've never seen in a downtown tanning salon which is awesome. All in all I like this salon a lot and it's the best one I've tried downtown in terms of having the beds I like and pricing. Everything is great too ;) read more

Just called for info about the sauna. A friend referred me bc my current members club membership was four figures monthly and was looking to save ($100-$500 is reasonable I think). I was looking for a new sauna I can visit every other day and did not understand why she said I had to choose red blue or purple lights (apparently they heal bones and immunity or something?) I just want to sweat in the sauna. The woman made it clear she had other people in line, interrupted me several times repeating do you want to book. It was also an effort for her to repeat the price she said "as I said it is $1 a min" Sorry I do not understand because it is crazy cheap from what I'm used to and so did not understand. I now do understand this is not my new "health home" as five minutes answering questions apparently, annoys this rep. read more

Clean, multiple package options for minutes or points, the people are nice and helpful. I believe the unlimited tanning does not require a contract you just buy a week, two weeks, a month which is better than most tanning places where you're stuck paying for unlimited tanning for months. I got a points package to be able to use multiple beds. Not too busy there has been a bed available every time I have gone so far. read more

I have been using this salon on occasion for years. It has an impressive variety of lay down and stand up beds of different intensity. The number of beds generally allows you just show up for a procedure unless you really want a particular bed. A system of purchasing points gives you an opportunity to get savings and use them according to whichever bed you select later. The environment is clean and staff is friendly. read more

Worst customer service I have encountered in my life! It was my first time there.I arrived 5 mins late and she didn't let me in, she was very rude and yelled at me! I didn't even know they had a 5 mins late policy! Since I was the last appointment for the day, she seemed in a rush to close and go home.. She said she is the manager/ owner of the place..
