I would not recommend Solid Home Renovations, specifically Danny, based on my experience. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of work and regret trusting them with my project. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't trust them with my dog- let alone my money. The workmanship has been incredibly frustrating to deal with. I have found countless issues with the work after the fact, and many aspects appear rushed, poorly executed, and focused more on cutting costs than delivering a quality renovation. The materials used seem to be chosen with price in mind rather than durability or long-term value, and the finished product reflects that. After investing my money, I truly expected professional-level craftsmanship and attention to detail. Instead, left dealing with problems that should never have existed in the first place. It is extremely disappointing to pay and feel like you received subpar work in return. I strongly encourage anyone considering hiring them to do thorough research, ask detailed questions about materials and quality standards, and carefully inspect the work before making payments. Wow! Wow! Wow! We initially found Solid Home Renovations on Yelp for a full home renovation including knocking down walls & installing beams, raising ceilings, leveling floors, new kitchen, bath, flooring throughout and more! Boy did we get lucky! After the initial meeting, Danny won us over with his personality, knowledge and organization in planning for the reno. We knew immediately after he left that he would be the best fit. Since the job was so big, we did move out during most of the renovation, but Danny made sure we were informed daily on everything that was going on in the house, texting pictures & answering any questions we had. He efficiently updated our more than fair quote to reflect our changes/add-ons throughout the entire process. Time-wise, his team finished the job in 6 weeks as he forecasted. This was my first renovation and Danny was great! He answered every single question I had (no matter how silly) and put me at ease. The entire crew was great to work with and always on time. I always knew what was going on and the project was completed right when they said it would be (totally unheard of). Two weeks after the kitchen was completed I had horrible water damage in my upstairs bathroom (not a remodel I was planning on). The walls were ripped out and tile was broken. Again this company came in and saved the day. Both my kitchen and bathroom look amazing. I have had them do plumbing, drywall, tile, electrical and countertops and every aspect came out to perfection. This company has zero interest to do business with us. I took all the time to take pics of our bathroom, walls, windows, shower area needs to be done and we need a contractor in our fountain hills home. I even took the time to fill out all the necessary questions on their yeIp website. I read all the great reviews and I am extremely excited to give them a business. We have 3 properties in Fountain Hills and 1 condo that needs to be upgraded by 2019 too. The owner didn't even had any courtesy to text, call my husband for any alternative date or even any "options". Very unprofessional and what a waste of time. read more

Danny recently completed two projects for me. One was a laminate flooring and subway tile backsplash installation. The other job was replacing two toilets. Both jobs were completed above expectations. People have even commented how great the flooring and backsplash look. Both were completed on time and within the budget. The jobs were left clean every day that his crew was working on them. He finished the plumbing job in a couple hours. Having worked with construction trades people in the past, Danny is a true professional. He knows how to price a job and get it done within the time frame he quotes. I was referred to Danny Pehrson, owner of Solid Home Renovations, by a neighbor who had used him several times in the past. Danny came over to look at some plumbing that the former owner had done himself, and done poorly because he was not a plumber. Danny looked at the work, told me what needed to be done to correct it and what the cost would be. We set up an appointment - he was here on time, had to crawl around in an attic when it was 106 outside - finished the job and cleaned up after himself. A few weeks later I called to ask him about a leaky toilet and installing an electrical outlet in the guest bath. Again, he looked at the problem areas, gave me a quote - we set up a date for him to do the work. He was here, had an electrician do the electrical outlet, he did the plumbing and they both cleaned up after themselves. I love contractors who 1. show up when they say they will 2. give you a quote that doesn't give you a heart attack 3 and clean up after themselves. I would recommend this company to anyone. Solid Home Renovations (SHR) - 5 stars doesn't do this company justice, there needs to be another level for outstanding businesses that consistently exceed their customer's expectations. If extremely high quality and unwavering integrity at a very reasonable rate are your top criteria for hiring a general contractor to perform your next home improvement project, you need look no further than Solid Home Renovations. Thinking back on any other past experiences that my family and I have ever had in hiring someone to have something in our home installed, fixed, remodeled, etc., no other company, team or person for that matter, has even come close to providing the level of quality and service that I've received from Danny and his team. Not only does Danny seem to be a "jack of all trades", but in rare fashion he's also proven to be a master of them all as well - he and his team know and perform their work with passion and precision. I initially asked Danny if he could perform needed repairs on 1) a shower valve in our master shower (not being fully secured to the wall) and 2) re-flushing our main entrance door as well as a pair of outside-leading bedroom French doors to correct significant gaps due to being unevenly mounted to the frames (beyond a simple weather stripping fix) - this was allowing for heat to enter, conditioned air to escape and basically laid out a welcome mat for all sorts of insects, spiders, etc. While assessing the guest shower (sharing a common wall with the master shower), Danny noticed that the valve there was missing a sleeve/backing which prevents water from collecting behind the shower wall - he took care of that for us as well. Also, in the interim between contacting SHR to schedule the appointment and the date of service, I discovered a leak stemming from the kitchen sink (water leaking out of the exterior wall). I gave Danny a quick call and asked if he could take a look at it when coming out to perform the other work (assuming he would diagnose the problem and schedule a separate appointment to perform the fix at a later date). Danny and his team arrived early the scheduled morning and not only performed all the repairs discussed on the initial quote, but also repaired the leak. As if that weren't enough, Danny went over and beyond to address several additional details - which included making adjustments to our water pressure and temperature (water heater) to achieve comfortable settings. Sort of like a mechanic, it's difficult to nearly impossible to find someone you can trust, that will perform quality work, without the fear of being monetarily taken advantage of. Solid Home Renovations hits on all cylinders - high quality, trustworthy and integrity - all at an extremely reasonable rate. We remodeled 3 bathrooms (this was our first remodel) and were very nervous about the process. We interviewed 5 contractors and Danny's quote was by far the most detailed. He and his crew of wonderful guys worked 6 days a week arriving at 7 every morning. They did their best to make us feel comfortable while they worked and made sure to clean up each day. Their work is exceptional and we are thrilled with the results. Contacted Danny through yelp, got a rough estimate and scheduled an on-site meeting for a more in depth view of our master bath remodel. First I must say, I'm particular to whom I contract with and punctuality can typically be a first impression indicator. You don't have to be 10 minutes early, just be on time. Danny scheduled a time due to his heavy workload, and he stuck to it. My wife and I met with him, discussed our options and decided to hire him to replumb our entire shower. Keep in mind, not because he was the cheapest, but because he spoke with confidence, understood what we were asking for and knew how to knock it out. We added a second showerhead, 3 way diverter, capped a drain and moved and centered a new drain. Danny is meticulous, and left our bathroom clean and free of any construction debris. Kudos to these guys. I will absolutely recommend Danny and his crew to anyone looking for plumbing work. And now when some asks about a plumber I'll say, "You're in luck, I've got THE guy." Lastly, we went through several "contractors" looking for someone to do this work, however without a doubt, Danny is THE GUY you want doing it. read more
