A little backstory, I had a bad leak in my shower pan, to the point I thought there may be serious damage so I involved my homeowners insurance company. They sent an inspector out who said there was cracked grout, but he felt there was probably an underlying cause that needed to be fixed.So I called 3 tile contractors. The first two just said it was only cracked grout, and they'd fix it by re-grouting. Efrem gave his opinion, and it was exactly what the inspector had said, he anticipated an underlying problem. He won my trust with that honesty. He also made a point of explaining it would be a bit of lengthy process, he'd have to make 4 trips to do it in phases, but ultimately, he assured me by doing it this way, it would be a permanent fix rather than a quick patch. Every day wheb he said he'd be at my house at a specific time, he was there. All totaled, he was there 4 days in a row, the demolition took about an hour, putting a liner in (there wasn't one in the original shower pan which contributed to the leaking) and sealing it took an hour, he then tested it overnight to ensure the leak was fixed (it was) and then he laid the mud down which took an hour. He came back 3rd time to put another seal on over the mud for good measure, and then the final part was the tile and grout which took an hour or so. Couldn't be more pleased with the work.

His work is amazing, really straight cuts, great symmetry and even installs, and really know how to make some beautiful designs too. Efrem does really great demo and is respectful and reasonably priced. He cleans up after his jobs too and I always appreciate when he comes over and how he is with my kids and family. Efrem has no internet presence, he works by referral. When I bought my flooring at Robinson's Flooring, he was the installer. He gets all his work from people who use him because he's one of the best in Fresno. I can't keep him a secret, and it would be selfish to keep this jewel of a contractor under wraps - so I'm proud to the be one to put him on Yelp and sing his praises. Great work Efrem!

I purchased a beautiful older home which after receiving a recommendation from a trusted friend, and interviewing several other contractors, I hired California Shine Construction to completely remodel the kitchen and bathroom, paint the exterior and interior of the home, refinish existing and install new wood flooring, install recessed lighting, and replace the old wooden roof on the house and detached garage as well as install a flagstone patio. I have nothing but good things to say about the entire experience of working with California Shine. The price for the project was competitive ( I obtained two other estimates) and the craftsmanship and installation of granite countertops, kitchen cabinets, wooden trim, tile work, appliances and hardware was excellent. Luis Bravo kept me informed on the progress of the work and responded to me promptly when I reached out to him with questions. The job was completed on time, the site was kept clean and the work crew were friendly and seemed to enjoy working with their coworkers and as well as the work they were doing. Luis Bravo is a VERY dishonest person…read more After gaining our trust with a phony friendship, he kept our $15,000 "down payment and advance" for a remodeling project he never started. He said that part of our money had been invested in "plans" that his drafter never authorized for us to use. We made four different appointments with Luis to meet us in our Clovis home to discuss this matter and to request a refund for a project that was NEVER BEGUN. Four times we left work early to meet with Luis and four times he simply did not show up. We left messages and texts but he never responded to any. When we mailed him a certified letter to ask for our deposit back, he REFUSED TO ACCEPT the letter. Whatever you do, DO NOT HIRE this dishonest, unethical man.

We liked working with them so much, we asked for their help a few years later for our fireplace project - and here again, they exceeded our expectations! G&H did our kitchen 5-6 years ago and we loved it so an easy choice to ask them to do our living…read moreroom update. We did a feature build-out from the wall where an old fireplace had been and wanted to install an electric fireplace with a TV mount just above. We had the build-out done and then picked our granite, which was shiny black base with huge swirls of gold (titanium gold) . Gegham and Harut came out and measured and then had us visit their new shop right off the "41", very convenient. They showed us options for cuts that would feature the gold swirl pattern in a couple ways. We chose our cut options and now it's installed and amazing. The co-owners came out and did the install with great attention to detail, the bookmatching was perfect with the patern wrapping around the sides. The cuts for the TV and fireplace mounts preserved the maximum of the gold pattern on the visible granite, top, bottom and sides. It's just perfect and like with our kitchen work, the guys saved our left-over stone and have already suggested some ideas like a console table or new tops for nesting tables, etc. They did that with our kitchen quartz remainder also. Our living room is now awesome and the guys are easy and fun to work with. When you work with them you feel their confidence and it eases your anxiety about "what will this look like" because they've done it all many times before! We'll use them again for the next stone project for sure!
