We had planned on going through Lowe's for our flooring. First of all, we liked all those involved on the job, from quoting to laying down our wood floors. Loved Danny! I would ask Danny to not allow his assistant to drop planks of wood (as they come flying out of the box) directly onto the wood recently glued down. I found more than a few scratches. However, his assistant worked like an animal and did an excellent job grinding the layers of old adhesive and rollcote off of the concrete floor during the prep time. After going first to 2 other places locally for estimates that had good reviews, I wasn't sure who to trust or go with to replace old carpet and laminant for 3/4 of our house that we bought a decade ago. Based on its great reviews, I went to J&M for a third estimate and they proved the best option for us. Based on prior sales pitches, I was torn between vinyl and laminate plank options, and Hoss and his dad, Joe, answered every question and gave me good pros/cons of each from a professional standpoint based on over a decade of jobs (and how they held up long-term or potential problems). The rest of their staff in the office was also a pleasure to deal with since I went back a couple times to get samples and re-inspect options (there were so many, and not an obvious 'best bang for your buck' choice for us initially). Once we decided and the product arrived, Hoss was accurate in his predictions on availability and job completion. The installers did a great job, and were easy to work with (and tried to minimize the disruption on our family's workflow). Even when a surprise came up when they removed old carpet and found an old baseboard staple lodged in a washer drain pipe, they gave me good advice on next steps and reliable/affordable plumbers that might be available. The flooring price was reasonable compared to other estimates, and there was no extra charge for using a credit card. Looking back, everybody I worked with (8-9 in all, including workers (including, Jeremy was there every day and an A+ worker), office staff, owners, salesman and job manager) was professional, courteous and responsive to every question via calls, text, and email. We had our floors replaced by J&M a couple months ago. We went to their store and browsed a lot of different options and settled on a luxury vinyl tile option that we just loved to replace our aging carpet. We did our due diligence and got several other quotes. J&M's prices were about the middle of the road- but we had a good rapport with them when we met at the store and so we went with them. They got the job done in under a week and it looks fantastic. Like other places they charge for furniture moving- if you have books on a movable shelf those need to get taken out before they will move them-just fyi. The entire process from start to finish was smooth. They came with a quote. A few weeks later once the materials arrived, we set up an appointment. It was supposed to be a two day job but they finished in one! Ezekiel and Justin went above and beyond for installing our vinyl floors. They removed all the carpet, moved heavy wood furniture with care, installed everything and put everything back all in one day! They did three bedrooms. They were polite, friendly, walked us through the game plan and made sure we were satisfied. More importantly, they were respectful of social distancing and wore a mask the entire time. Jose, the owner, welcomed us warmly and was exceptionally responsive to all of our initial questions. We decided to take a few samples home to consider.
