His audiologist did a rudimentary hearing test and proclaimed I had a slight hearing loss - also in the left ear. Dr. Zach's demeanor was detached; he would ask me questions, interrupt me and dismiss my replies. His is an outdated practice and he needs to visit the ProHealth Center in Farmington. I recently went there and met with Dr. Kelly Greco; approximately 15 minutes of professional care - much wax was removed from both ears and the pressure and pain were gone. Clearly the difference between rundown and outdated, and state of the art and professionalism.

On 4/12/21 I had an appointment with Dr. Zachs for sudden hearing loss and ringing in my ear that started when i woke up one day the previous week. Being in my mid 40's with no history and no other trauma to my ear you could imagine how horrible and confusing it would be to wake up and not hear, and have an intense ringing in my ear. Dr. Zack literally looked into my ear said i dont see anything and I didn't have an infection. When i asked about the ringing in my ear he said "oh its tinnitus". When i restated that it was in one ear and just started one day and asked about the cause, treatment, etc he said there was not any. I was seen for maybe for 5min and dismissed. You could imagine my shock, it was clear he didn't really care nor was going to waste any time trying to figure it out. When i left i was disgusted by his treatment and also the front desk attendant Melissa who was extremely rude and cared just as little as Dr. Zachs. Fortunately, I felt something was wrong and made a call to UCONN ENT department who got me in immediately, the team was attentive, concerned, and listened to what i was going through. They ran me through several hearing tests, tested me for an infection, and several other test and committed to figure it out before I left. Which the did, I had a severe infection that if left untreated could have led to permanent hearing loss. Could you imagine? One day everything is fine, the next losing your hearing?? Apparently Associated ENT has lost there way in providing a caring service focused on properly diagnosing and treating there patients as well as providing an even worse customer service experience. I feel very fortunate for UCONN and that team but still disgusted by this experience. Save yourself the time, experience, frustration, and possibly the loss of your hearing by going to someone who cares.
