His office claims to accept United Health Care, my insurance carrier. In fact, before I went to see him I called his office to confirm that my visit would cost me nothing more than the co-pay. One of his secretaries, Adrianna, told me she would contact UHC to confirm that. She called me back five mins later and confirmed, as I though, that it would only cost me $20 - my co-pay. I went to the office that afternoon and was seen by Dr. Goldberg in his miserable, tiny flea-bag of an office (there are 2 rooms, and the toilet in the bathroom makes you feel like you're in Lower East Side tenement). He spent most of the visit railing against Obama and his attempts at reform, which is always pleasant- bring politics into a medical appointment! Now.....whether or not you are in favor of Obama's stuff doesn't matter- I don't want to talk politics, especially with regard to finances, with my doctor. Ugh. Then, to top it off, I go to pay my co-pay and a different receptionist tells me that I owe $125, payable NOW. 'It should be much more....', Dr. Lame-A** says when I tell him of my earlier conversation as to the co-pay covering things, "...but I'm not charging you for the throat culture." I politely argued with them, telling them of the conversation earlier and that I was sure my policy covered a standard office visit, but they were insistent. If I didn't have a 101 degree fever at the time, I think I would have told them to just bill me. But instead, I caved and gave them my credit card. Got home, called UHC, and was told that it should have been my co-pay only. Called Dr. S**t-face and was told that, in truth, when they bill UHC they don't get reimbursed in full, and that it takes 2 months for them to get their money. So that's why the $125 was payable in full instead. These guys are lame, fraudulent crooks who have a decrepit office and claim to accept insurance that they then don't recognize. They will over-charge you and then change their story as to why, and you'll end up screwed. Stay away from these crooks.

He doesn't really offer any insight into your symptoms and on top of that, they continually try to book multiple appointments for you. I am sure this is because they want you to pay multiple co-pays. For example, on a general physical they made me make 3 appointments: one for the physical, one to draw blood (which shouldn't require a co pay in my opinion since all he is doing is sticking me with the needle), and one to go over your blood results. You may want to look elsewhere before you start booking appointments here. He may know what he is doing, but he tries to nickle and dime you and talk your ear off every visit. He definitely isn't worth that kind of time.

After hearing me complain for a few months, friends suggested I try a chiropractor, and I eventually went to one (NOT Dr Russo). Their office was like an open factory of tables and the practitioner hopped from one person to the next with hyper activity, like a car manufacturing lineup. In addition to that, they told me I should sign up for a "pack" of treatments in one lump sum without really determining what was wrong with me. I walked out and never went back. A friend suggested that I try Dr. Michael Russo and i am SO THANKFUL that they did! His office is a proper doctor's office - calm, quiet, professional with individual treatment rooms. Dr. Russo is also very calm and professional. He took the time to really listen to what my symptoms were, then did a series of diagnostic tests including x-rays to see what was really going on. He identified the problem and gently adjusted me. I am not lying when I say that IMMEDIATELY the pain in my wrist stopped and has never returned. Dr. Russo suggested that I come in two more times to make sure everything was in its place, and then only come back on an as-needed basis. (in other words, he addresses and fixes the issue, then sends you on your merry way - no need to scam with expensive bulk packages). I have since run into people who also see Dr Russo and they swear by him, as do I (a sceptic won over!!). I send anyone I know who is experiencing pinches & pain to Dr. Russo because I want them to feel as wonderful as I do now. Maybe this review was a bit much, but seriously - when you live for months & months with shooting pain in half your upper body and someone makes it go away in the first session, you KNOW they're good and you want to let everyone else know as well. BOTTOM LINE: Go to Dr. Russo - your body will be glad you did!
