The food is varied and without complaint. The service is pleasant. The ambiance is generally quite good.

The best burgers around. Great atmosphere, fantastic margaritas and a decent night life on the weekends.

As a frequent visitor to the Skowhegan area, I initially fell in love with this beautifully…read morerestored old spinning mill, now transformed into apartments and a boutique-style hotel. It has such a unique charm and great potential. Unfortunately, after staying here three times, my experience has steadily declined. The biggest issues seem to be communication and a lack of consistency with the Kasa brand. Room amenities are unpredictable--some rooms have refrigerators, while others don't. None of the rooms I've stayed in have had dresser drawers, closets, or even basic hooks to hang clothes, which makes longer stays inconvenient. Housekeeping has also taken a step back. During my first two stays, it was excellent. Now, they charge a $35 "refresher fee," despite signage indicating that daily housekeeping is available. I've also experienced operational issues, including being locked out of the building and having no heat. Trying to resolve these problems through their "virtual front desk" was frustrating and largely ineffective. The company also sent me updates about my stay using an old confirmation number from a stay eight months ago. Noise has also been an issue. Even though I am hearing impaired, I could still hear noise from surrounding units, including a dog barking from the floor above, which was surprising and disruptive. To top it off, small but noticeable downgrades--like switching from glassware and real coffee cups to paper cups--give the property more of a budget motel feel rather than the boutique experience it once offered. That said, I will give credit where it's due--the beds are very comfortable, and the sheets and comforters feel high quality. However, with the ongoing cost-cutting, it wouldn't be surprising to see that change as well. This property still has incredible potential, but until consistency, communication, and the overall guest experience improve, it's hard to justify returning.

Beautiful place to stay the night. The hotel seemed empty and was still under construction. The gym…read morewas half put together when I was there. But the hotel was nice. The biggest issue I had was the cleanliness. It was beautiful but it was not clean. The sheets on the top of the bed were stained with bodily fluids. The bathroom had a full trash with feminine products, and it did not smell well. There was on the floor in the bedroom and the bathroom, and they didn't address the cleanliness when I brought it up. That upset me as I stayed there a few nights for a conference. The big tv in the bedroom was nice but it was high on the wall. And the windows were beautiful, but due to construction I had to have them closed a lot because I was on the ground level. Parking was okay. There was an event the first night, so I was not able to park to unload my vehicle in the front (maybe assign some 15-minute spots in the front?). But I was able to move it to the first come first serve parking in the front of the hotel later. Not having anyone to ask questions of on location was weird. No staff to talk to. I had texts communications with the staff, but it was not exactly responsive. But it was a nice hotel. Beautiful rooms.
