I would like to thank the nursing staff including Selina and the aides especially Ms. Allen and Anne and Bari for taking such good care of me. I would also like to commend Priyanka my physical therapist and Lucia (Lulu) my occupational therapist for helping me get to the next level. Honestly the therapy was work for me but both Priyanka and Lucia were extremely encouraging and their guidance and professionalism helped me do the therapy even when what I wanted was to simply lie in bed. Thanks so much to all of you for your excellent work!!!

We all know 4 person room at NYU, but here there is no walk way to get in and out without walking in the private space of others! At minimum they should simply put up another curtain! -identified to nurse that she has the cream that was used on her sore, she said ok just leave it for her by the bed, but as I'm leaving this same nurse was leaving without ever going back in to use the cream on her *suggestion-do not do afternoon/early evening transfers from the hospital to this place Let's see what today brings! Best of luck to all those that are picking a place today.

I had to fight to get toilet paper, yes toilet paper. No one was on the same page. There were no universal processes so everything was CHAOS. You wait and wait and wait for even pain meds. Under staffed severely. I was "discharged" last Friday without knowing I had to do it myself. I had to call the nurse at the front desk to tell her I was leaving. No one ever told me this. OMG again, I almost lost the chartered car service waiting to take me home as this nonsense was so time consuming. AND worse yet, I was sent home WITHOUT my very vital meds (heart meds!!). I called and no one knew who could do anything. The meds were there and they were so stupid they couldn't possibly just call a messenger service or send someone to me (I live 10 blocks away). They did not call in any meds to my pharmacy. This just happened and I am now going into my 4th day of no heart meds. It is a disaster and disgrace. AVOID like the plague.

There were many 1.5-2 hr gaps between finger sticks and insulin administration which placed my dad at risk for complications related to hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia. Also, dad developed stage 2 pressure ulcers/bed sores under incompetent nursing staff care on the 14th floor. Dad didn't get changed for over 6 hours or within a reasonable time after a bowel movement. Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) kicked my mother out of the room during diaper changes, stating "patient privacy" but my dad was never asked if his wife could stay at bedside. All these issues were addressed with Shova Panta, RN Manager but nothing was done and issues were overlooked. Shova lacks good clinical judgment, leadership and competent nursing skills. Dr. Shahed Abbasi, provider on the 14th floor is the Grim Reaper. My father had chills throughout the night with numbness and tingling on his lips and tongue, hand tremors, slurred speech, audible crackles and generalized edema from head to toe. All these symptoms are abnormal for him. I asked Dr. Abbasi to call 911 but she refused stating she didn't believe it was a true medical emergency. Dr. Abbasi said his vital signs (temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration rate) were normal. I stated he was symptomatic. I called 911 and the operator dispatched 4 paramedics/EMT to Riverside Premier due to acuity of situation. My dad ended up in the ER trauma room with septic shock which was life threatening and was transferred to ICU. Dr. Shahed Abbasi, Shova Panta, RN Manager and nursing staff were negligent, incompetent and provided poor quality care that increased my dad's mortality rate. The only good thing about the 14th floor is PT/OT. Beware of the doctor and nursing staff. They're the ones who provide around the clock care at bedside.

Clean hallways, no smell, and anyone who's toured nursing homes knows the smell test is the real test. My friend, who lives there, says the staff are genuinely great but stretched thin, and the public data backs that up: reported nursing hours per resident run around 3.4 a day, under the national average. Good people, not enough of them. Location is the quiet win. It sits basically in the shadow of St. John the Divine, and Mount Sinai Morningside (still St. Luke's to longtime locals) is two blocks north, which matters when a hospital run happens. Amsterdam Ave has real food after visits, V&T for old-school pizza, Hungarian Pastry Shop for coffee. Well maintained, nonprofit, honest operation. Just needs more hands.

Staff frequently ignored call alarms, left him unattended, failed to take him to critical medical follow-ups, and repeatedly moved him between rooms, causing confusion and setbacks. Communication with doctors was almost impossible, medications were mishandled, and aides ranged from indifferent to openly hostile. My father suffered preventable injuries, long periods without proper rehab, and inconsistent hygiene and safety practices. Even basic tasks--like helping him to the bathroom or keeping the call button within reach--were often ignored. Across multiple floors the care felt chaotic, understaffed, and lacking oversight. This facility caused my father unnecessary pain, fear, and decline. I would strongly urge families to look elsewhere and thoroughly research any rehab center before trusting them with a loved one.
