    Memorial wreath

These folks are great! They are kind and professional while accommodating our needs. They delivered a beautiful memorial wreath to be hung on the front door of our Father's home after his passing. I was so pleased that I called them to deliver an arrangement to our Daughter on her first day at a new job. Both arrangements were beautifully appropriate for the sentiment at the time. Thank you!

Something Special Florist in Columbia, SC was able to accommodate my last minute online order less than 24 hours before a funeral service. They delivered a beautiful Peace Lily plant on time and in perfect condition. It now sits in my best friend's home as a memorial to her beloved niece. I recommend Something Special Florist when you really want the best and need it fast. Tell them Kindra Speech sent you.

Sent some flowers to my niece to congratulate her on her new job. I choose their arrangement called. "The Cube," and upgraded it. They kindly fulfilled my request to deliver before lunch. My niece was thrilled and loved her arrangement. The flowers were nice and fresh and vibrant. I ordered online and found their website experience to be very straightforward and easy to use.

I called to order a nice bouquet to be delivered. This was a Bereavement Occasion. Ordered: Lilies, (1) dozen White Roses, (3) White Hydrangea Eucalyptus Leaves & Snap Dragons. It's not very impressive for $147.00 I expected a lot more flowers. They said they're 3 hydrangeas but I don't see them. For that much $$$, you'd expect a huge bouquet. Sorry I used them but that's what you get when you're Out Of Town. I arrange flowers and know my flowers. But this is just lack-luster, at best!

THE florist to use in Columbia, SC! Blown away by the gorgeous, unique arrangement that was created for my friends birthday. Just STUNNING. And showed up same day in 3 hours. Cant recommend more.

I was in search of a great florist that could deliver flowers quickly to my USC college student. I had no idea where to start since we live in Wilmington, NC. I looked on Yelp! and chose Something Special Florist because it was close to campus and had great reviews. I took a chance and headed to their website. I was able to place an order right then on a Sunday evening and it was so easy! The flowers were even delivered the next day before noon! I got a confirmation email when they were delivered too. Not only was the process quick and easy, the flowers were absolutely beautiful! They arrived to her just in time for a much needed pick me up from mom even though I was 3 hours away! Highly recommend!!

I got flowers sent to my mom on her birthday and they were absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Keep in mind this was also during the covid 19 crisis - they really pulled it through for us when we couldn't be together for the birthday. Thank you so much!!

Fresh cut floral arrangements - and they deliver! They are famous for their window displays and the always changing showroom.

A locally owned florist with a flair for creative designs in floral arrangements, plus great gift ideas and decor. They specialize in weddings, offering customized designs to fit any budget. I use this florist to send flowers to local theatre venues, friends and family. I'm always impressed with the quality, service and value. I feel like their arrangements are very unique, and they are prompt with delivery and invoicing. If I want to send flowers or of town, they are part of the BloomNet wire service, or they will go out of their way to find a florist to suit. I'd recommend this over many of the other local florists because they support the local arts and theatre community, too.

Thank you for the beautiful flowers. I ordered these from California to my niece in S. Carolina. I was very pleased with what she received.

I loved their selection of South Carolina hats, artworks, household items, clothing, etc. Also, as a philatelist, (one who loves mail) this is one of the few places in Columbia to buy postcards (and they're affordable as well!) They also had a lot of cool Carolina and Clemson merchandise, as well as items that highlight the history of the state of South Carolina. All-in-all, it was a great store, and my only complaint is that it's not its own standalone location! Would highly recommend!

It doesn't just handle museum related items and souvenirs. Its inventory is related to everything of the entire State of South Carolina. As they state, they've "...explored every corner of the state to bring you the best of South Carolina," and from what I've seen they have done that and then some. It's a really big store and has most everything one can think of that would be South Carolina related and most of the goods are of superior quality, not just cheap Chinese built trinkets. But the best part is the selection. They have everything from jewelry to clothing to home decorator items and the staff is more than willing to assist. It's really one of the better shops I've seen within or a part of any public museum.

We thought it was a 'pour your own candle' type place/experience, but really it's a bistro restaurant that also sells amazing candles (in addition to other cute items.) We were starving, and looking forward to lunch, which was one of the most incredible meals I've ever had. Everything is made fresh to order and 'from scratch' and not only does the flavor reflect this, but every sibgle detail and aspect of the meal. We couldnt decide what to order so decided to just share everything. We started with the half baguette with olive tapenade and herbed butter. It cane out warm and the tapenade was obviously homemade...it was at this point we knew we were in for a treat! Next up was the lemony caesar salad with lobster salad added and the watermelon feta special salad. I literally licked the plate with both. The caesar dressing was SPECTACULAR, a secret recipe and perfect. The watermelon salad hit the spot on an excruciatingly hot day. Following that we got shrimp bruschetta and the marinated crab cake special over gazpacho and artichoke hearts. The bruschetta was delicious, but that crab cake was five star. With no room at all for dessert, we took in the charming decor, purchased a few items and made a note to come back asap. One note...the prices run about $20 per plate and the portions are fair, but modest be prepared to spend about $50-60 per person with a glass of wine and tip, but it is worth EVERY penny.

Great dollar value if you're interested in all locations mentioned. The museum was easy to find and offered plenty of parking in a lot shared with the EdVenture Children's Museum. They had many exhibits that our 7 & 12 year old enjoyed but they thoroughly enjoyed the second floor galleries with the dinosaur exhibit and the habitat exhibits. Staff was very friendly and helpful when fielding our questions. They also enjoyed seeing the the history of SC through the years represented through artifacts and the changes from the colony, war, and industrialization of the city with mills and the railroad. They also have a planetarium and a 4D shows offered throughout the day. Highly recommend adding this to your itinerary if you are in the Columbia area! I absolutely LOVED my visit to the Columbia Museum of Art! It might not be the Louvre or the Met,…read morebut for a city the size of Columbia, I don't know if it's possible to craft and curate a better art museum. They had such a great collection, replete with amazing religious artwork, postmodernist works, artifacts from ancient China, and... a work from Claude Monet! As someone who's a huge fan of Impressionism, the fact that a piece from Claude Monet is sitting in Columbia is simply amazing. Kudos to the CMA for being able to procure this painting, and I hope that it remains at the museum in perpetuity.  In terms of the lesser-known works, they had a really cool exhibit from a local artist (well, from Spartanburg, which I'll consider "local",) which detailed the ever-increasing melding of technology and humanity. The exhibit displayed what was essentially a set of bronze busts that served as a combination of human and robot heads, with which the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI,) is as important and prescient as ever.  Finally, they had a cool section for kids called "The Cross Hatch," where kids could experiment and learn about the different art techniques in a fun and interactive environment. In addition, when I walked into the museum, they were setting up for a corporate event, and I was told by the gentleman working the front desk that the museum also serves as an event venue for all sorts of different occasions.  The only, very very *very* minor complaint that I have is that the downstairs rooms were closed, as they were busy setting up a new exhibit. Of course, I understand that the rooms have to be closed in order to set up a new exhibit, I just wish that they weren't closed when I happened to visit. Lol.  All-in-all, the Columbia Museum of Art is an amazing art museum, I'd recommend that anybody pay it a visit, and I hope that it's around for a long, long time!
