    My husband and I got engaged April of 2024, as I was finishing graduate school. I knew with my boards coming up and the possibility of a new job, planning a wedding will be a huge feat, so we decided to hire a planner. I did extensive research on event companies that align with all our wants, and we found Somni. We had the pleasure of working with Janice from the very beginning to the end of our wedding planning journey, and we cannot thank her enough for making the process so smooth, easy, and as stress free as wedding planning can be. Janice found our amazing vendors, coordinated with them, and ensured that everything went perfect on the big day. And it is no exaggeration that we say, it did go perfectly! She was flexible and patient with our hectic work schedules -- as I was in training and with long, unpredictable hours. Janice did all the back and forth with all the vendors, and she left only the "fun" part of planning to us -- saying yes and no to details. We are so grateful for her for helping my husband and I bring our mood board and dream wedding to life.

    SO WORTH IT! From the very first introduction and interaction with Michelle from Somni Events, we knew this wedding coordination team was a vendor we wanted to prioritize in our budget! Michelle was informative, understanding, and patient is describing their various services to see where they could help fulfill our dream wedding (when we weren't even sure what that looked like) and we knew immediately that we would be in good hands. At that moment in time, we didn't realize just how good! And then we met our coordinator, Janice! Upon our first meeting with her, she was wonderfully professional and communicative, immediately impressing upon us that she was in our corner every step of the way to the alter! There is not enough space to document the journey the wild ride we have experienced with our wedding planning but one undeniable, calming constant has been JANICE! If you want someone who knows how to pivot gracefully, Janice is your superwoman! When our venue tiptoed around numerous construction delays, Janice immediately took action and helped us thoroughly navigate the situation. She supported us in the many decisions that had to be made, advocated for us, and kept us focused and engaged throughout the process so we could still enjoy our time in the process! Especially as we got overwhelmed towards the final stretch and kept pushing back deadlines, Janice was patient, kind, and communicative (one thing we truly appreciate in a vendor)! On the day of the wedding, Janice exceeded any and all expectations! As soon as I saw Janice, I visibly relaxed! I knew our big day was in amazing hands and did this girl deliver! Everyone in our families could not say enough about their own personal interactions with Janice throughout the day/night, amazed by her attentiveness to detail, organization, and calm! She was so thoughtful to help my sister with my grandparents AND helped get bowls of pho for the young lion dancers after their performance! We are just so beyond thankful to have had Janice as our wedding coordinator! It meant so much to have her be part of our big day!

    Prior to getting married, I've followed Somni Events on socials for a few years. So, when I got engaged I told my fiancé Somni will be our wedding planner, nonnegotiable. I sent an inquiry email to them and got a response from Michelle within a few hours, and luckily she was still available. Over a course of little over a year, we worked together to bring my vision to life, more reds and golds, less pastels than your typical wedding. She offered amazing suggestions with florists, photographer, and music. I was fine just having a wedding dj, but she definitely recommended for something more special, so we opted for a live band, which has become one of the most complimented memory of the night. She even comforted me through wedding stress and uncertainty. Michelle has been beyond extraordinary and I will be forever grateful for the unforgettable memories she helped create. On the day of our wedding, her whole team made everything seamless; even though there may have been things happening behind the scenes, we were never made aware of them.     My partner and i have been together almost 18 years, engaged for 2 of those years. clearly we are the biggest procrastinators ever so we knew we needed professional help. i wasn't sure at first if we should hire a wedding planner but after a few google searches of "how to plan a wedding" and zero searches on my partner's effort it was clear that we needed not just any event planner but Somni! I happen to see a post from a friend who had attended one of Somni's events and was very impressed with their work posted on social media. their style was right up my alley. I also wanted an AAPI planner to cater to my family and our cultures. Somni was immediately responsive to my inquiry and provided a lot of explanation and information up front. To save some money, we went with partial planning with one of the associate planners, Janice. We decided to host our small 50 person wedding in our backyard. Janice was immediately communicative with us via email, set up a time to meet at our home, and began throwing out ideas and questions for us. Never having thought of what kind of wedding we wanted, with just a few questions Janice was able to put together a concept that appealed to our styles - but honestly we had no idea what we wanted but Janice was able to put together an event i could have never imagined! a few weeks later Janice put together a presentation with the specifics: layout, conversion from ceremony to dinner, table cloths, dishes, silverware, florals, etc. it was very thorough! there were details that i didnt even know we had to think about. honestly i was skeptical we would be able to pull this off in our small backyard but Janice's preparation and organization reassured us she had it handled! ultimately we were floored - our yard was unrecognizable! she had converted our simple backyard to a whimsical, intimate, flowery, arboretum! I really had no idea it would turn out the way it did but my guests, family, and i were all in awe. The result was so amazing and special - i mean there were like floral arrangements hanging above us!! Janice brought to life the dream wedding i didnt even know I was dreaming about! I cant say enough about Somni Events and Janice. Our experience throughout was excellent and the result simply above and beyond our expectations.

    Michelle and her entire team were an absolute pleasure to work with -- they are professional, kind, creative and incredibly detail-oriented. They make wedding planning a calm and fun process. Our wedding day exceeded all of our expectations thanks to them, and we would highly recommend them to any future bride especially located in the California area.

    Michelle made the whole wedding planning process so easy and our wedding turned out absolutely AMAZING. We really couldn't have imagined it without her. I think it's safe to say that her and the Somni Events team brought our vision to life and more! From picking the venue, selection of vendors, design process, day of coordination, to checking in consistently throughout the past 1.5 years, Michelle was truly a DREAM to work with.     A long overdue review :') We hired Michelle for our December 2023 wedding and it was the best decision we made! Michelle is a true professional - she is elegant, polite, and extremely organized. We absolutely LOVED all the vendors she helped us select as well. Michelle helped us achieve a timeless wedding aesthetic and we received countless complements from guests. Throughout the entire wedding process, any stresses we had were immediately alleviated after a speaking with Michelle. I believe this is where she truly shines. Her calm, professional demeaner instantly calms you. On the day of the wedding, Michelle and her team ran everything seamlessly and my husband and I were able to have SO much fun. Thank you again Michelle!! Cannot recommend Somni enough!

    Michelle is an INCREDIBLE wedding planner and her team at Somni did an excellent job planning our wedding from start to finish. We began the wedding planing process in late 2020 with hopes of doing a micro-wedding in 2021. In the midst of the planning process, my mom got sick and I had to fly to Hong Kong to care for her. 4 months before the wedding, we had to pause the planning process due to the uncertainty of my mom's health. Michelle was so, so understanding and patient during one of my life's hardest moments. When I told her about this unforeseen situation, she took initiative and worked directly with all of the vendors to pause the plans without bothering me once as I was navigating the difficult emotions of dealing with a sick parent. After I came back from Hong Kong at the end of 2021 and felt ready to start the wedding process again, Michelle resumed planning with me despite my unscheduled arrival back and her busy schedule. It was a few extra steps for her to get back to the vendors but she did this without any complaint and I ended up finding an awesome new venue for a big 150+ person wedding set in February 2023. Michelle was so amazing throughout the entire process and nailed down the vision for the wedding I had in mind, and with vendors at the price point I was looking for! She so patiently did this two times as I had one vision for the micro-wedding and then tweaked it for the big one. With her expertise, she helped design a table setting that perfectly accommodated what I had in mind (moody jewel tones; not your typical wedding palette). Fast forward to the 2 weeks leading up to the wedding: I had SO many detailed one-off requests as I was feeling nervous and anxious as a bride. Michelle kindly accommodated for all of them and I was able to let all of my worries go because she had them handled! Come the day of the wedding, Michelle and her team really delivered and it allowed for my husband and I to truly relish our wedding day. Not only was she able to seamlessly manage all of the events and outfit changes the day of (tea ceremony, wedding ceremony, cocktail/reception, paebaek ceremony, first dances and everything in between), but she also was there for the little things, such as ensuring I was hydrated, helping my 3 bridesmaids fix some seemingly impossible tasks with my shoes and my gown, communicating with my picky dad and even ensuring my husband and I had some down time to enjoy the moments of the day together. Michelle is very experienced and is prepared for any fires that one would expect on the day of the wedding (which is many). And to add - Michelle planned my older brother's wedding in 2015 and it was an obvious decision to have the pleasure of having her plan my own wedding ~7 years later. This goes without saying, but I HIGHLY recommend Michelle and her team at Somni if you can get on her schedule! ;)

    Working with Michelle has been an absolute pleasure. We selected Michelle because of her long successful track record and also because we have close friends who admitted that Michelle was to be trusted. Selecting a planner can be difficult but thankfully we were blessed with the best one! My wife expects nothing but perfection so the communication between her and Michelle was constant. Everytime my wife had a question or some reassurance; Michelle was there to assist immediately. As a husband, what I appreciated the most was her attention to detail and her calmness. She would always jot down all of our wishes and requests in her notebook in which I respected because there were a lot of asks on our end. Such a professional, responsible, trustworthy person.     Michelle, Janice and the team truly did an amazing job in not only making my wedding day everything i imagined but also taking loads of stress off during the process and on the wedding day. First off, I didnt realize how difficult it would be planning an event at our venue- Hummingbird Nest Ranch. There was no wedding package, just a list of required vendors (valet, security, bartending), so we ended up having to source and communicate with 13 total outside vendors to make our night come true. It was a mess for me thinking I could do it myself so that's when we sought out Michelle and Somni Events about 9 months ahead of the wedding for planning services. I really could not have done it without them. Their expertise in the industry and experience at my wedding venue showed and saved me a ton of time I would have otherwise spent researching or asking vendors. Michelle and Janice knew exactly what would be needed at our venue (rentals, lighting, kitchen equipment rentals etc) and communicated directly with all our vendors. On the day of the wedding; there was not one moment where I couldn't find Michelle or Janice when i needed them. Looking back at it, I didnt realize how hectic the day was. Im surprised how relaxed i was!! and that's because i knew Janice and Michelle were behind the scenes making sure everything was going according to plan. I barely had a chance to look at my phone or the time, but Janice always showed up at the right time to guide us through the next part in our schedule. What topped it off for us was at the end of the night- Michelle and her team were one step ahead of us and had picked up all our personal belongings from the bridal suit and had it packed it onto our shuttle bus. I was so grateful they did that. it would have been a stressful thing to do at the end of the night especially after having one too many drinks... Thank you so much Somni Events !! our wedding was better than I could have imagined at the time. it was truly a wonderful experience working with your team.

    I could fill the entire Pacific Ocean with compliments for Michelle and the team at Somni Events. Michelle was part of our planning process for nearly 2.5 years (thanks 2020). Despite a long postponement and endless uncertainties, Michelle was always patient, kind, understanding, and optimistic while realistic. We are not local to SoCal and were stuck in another country throughout most of the planning process. Despite the distance, we always felt we could confide and trust Michelle no matter the issue - which is the most important when choosing your vendors. Not only does she have a great eye for design, she is meticulous and detail oriented. She provided all the organization and design resources we needed and truly understood our vision. A huge plus is that she is well attuned to East Asian wedding traditions and can speak to family members who do not understand English. There were so many small details we would have forgotten had it not been for Michelle. Even though our bridal party and family only had brief interactions with Michelle on the wedding day, they all commented and were so impressed by her level of detail and organization, positive attitude, and constant smile. When the weather prediction showed 70% chance of rain on our wedding day the entire week leading up to it, Michelle worked hard even at late hours to ensure we had a backup plan that fit our vision and communicated with our vendors for options. Not only so, she went above and beyond and paid for an hourly weather app just to see if it would stop raining by our ceremony time. By some miracle, the rain cleared the night before. When we needed extra rentals at the last minute, Michelle went out of her way to help us pick them up and also helped receive packages for us since we were out of town. We never expected any vendor to do this for us. We are so grateful for Michelle. These are just a few examples of the numerous times she went above and beyond. Although she juggles many events, Michelle always makes you feel like you are the top priority. She will treat your wedding like her own with the full attention it deserves. Everyone says that something is bound to go wrong at your wedding. Not us though - and it was all thanks to Somni Events. The entire day was perfect and Michelle is the absolute sweetest.

    WE HAD THE WEDDING OF OUR DREAMS! Michelle is exactly what we wanted in a planner. We opted for full planning and from the beginning we got a great vibe from her. Here are some of the things we loved: - attention to detail - organized - lots of vendor contacts - positive attitude She even helped us get a lot of discounts which offset her fee and had a lot of great vendor options at different price points. You might wonder if having a planner is worth it and I say if you can fit it in your budget you will be glad you did. I still don't know how she manages to do it all but we loved what she did for ours. Highly recommend!

    Michelle and her team at Somni Events helped plan my wedding from start to finish for the past year and a half. If anyone is on the fence about working with Michelle, this is your sign to hire her. Her eye for design, professionalism, and poise are worth every single penny. To be candid, I was extremely intimidated about the prospect of planning a wedding when I first got engaged. I wanted the wedding of my dreams to be flawlessly executed from start to finish, and knew that I needed to work with a planner who was professional, proactive, and trustworthy. I was luckily introduced to Michelle (who checked all of the aforementioned boxes) and signed a full planning contract after an initial call with her. Michelle supported and guided us throughout the entire planning process. She helped us find our dream wedding venue, and put together an incredible team of wedding vendors. She was also organized and very responsive over email and text. In the weeks leading up to my wedding, I was naturally feeling nervous and stressed about all of the details and logistics coming together. I wish I spent less time worrying because the day of the wedding was executed perfectly because of Michelle and her team. I was in awe of the florals and decor, and appreciated that Michelle kept us on schedule throughout the day even when unexpected occurrences came up. My husband and I were actually able to enjoy time (and eat!) together during the day of the wedding. This is no small feat given all of the work and set up that needed to be done, and is truly a testament to Michelle and her team's hard work behind the scenes. We had so many guests compliment how beautiful our wedding was and how much they enjoyed the entire evening - I can confidently say that none of it would have been possible without Michelle and her team. Her expertise, reputation, and connections in the wedding industry are unmatched (every single one of our vendors had nothing but praise for her) and my husband and I are so grateful that we had the chance to work with her on our special day.

Since our venue did not provide any services, we hired all of our own vendors. 3LB was essential in ensuring everyone was coordinated and in place on the wedding day. Additionally, because we used their rental equipment, their staff ensured everything was set up exactly according to our instructions. I want to specifically highlight our wedding day coordinator, Jennifer. She was terrific and served as a calming influence throughout the day, ensuring everyone was where they needed to be. I cannot recommend Three Little Birds enough. To anyone considering their services: do yourself a favor and hire this team; you won't be disappointed.

    We had an unbelievably disappointing experience with 3 Little Birds for our chairs and linens…read morerentals during a corporate event. The team arrived almost an hour late, several seat cushions were visibly stained and even molded, the cushion covers were not all the same color we had asked for when booking, and some of their staff were rude to us. Members of our own team had to jump in to cover cushions, tie them to chairs, and set them up to attempt an on-time event start, despite having had many other things to take care of for the event. At one point, our own executive leadership, who had arrived to attend the event, were helping assemble chairs just to keep things moving. Post event, we expressed our extreme disappointment, and after some back and forth over the course of weeks, the company did acknowledge the issues and agreed to provide a partial refund. Unfortunately, despite months of follow-up and repeated assurances, it has now been over FIVE months, and the refund has still not been provided. I normally prefer to handle situations like this privately and give disappointing companies the benefit of the doubt. But the lack of follow-through and accountability has been incredibly frustrating here, so much time has been wasted with nothing to show for it. I am sharing our poor experience, complete with photos of how the rental items arrived, so others can make an informed decision when considering booking with this company.

She took the time to understand who we were as a couple and brought that vision to life in a way that felt personal, meaningful, and beautiful. I'm also a very detail-oriented and particular person, so I had high expectations. Somehow, every detail exceeded them. Every decision, every recommendation, and every element of the wedding felt thoughtfully planned and executed. One of my favorite memories happened on our wedding day. I had told myself I wasn't going to cry, but after the ceremony, I remember telling MJ how happy I was and how perfect everything had been. She gave me a big smile and told me, "This is why I do what I do," and I honestly almost started crying right there.     Just wanted to sing praises for the amazing support Alexis provided for our wedding dinner at Bar…read moreChelou. My husband and I wanted to plan something of a wedding celebration dinner, and we knew we needed some help because we live on the other side of the country and also none of our family and friends were available to provide much support. JM Events came recommended to me by my photographer who had been in the wedding industry for over a decade. I set up a call with Lilian and we went over my vision for what kind of event I was envisioning and she discussed what kinds of services JME could provide for our event and also shared that they had planned and coordinated similar type events in the recent past. After our call, I also had meetings with other event coordination companies and it was clear to me that JM Events would be the best fit for us as they seemed the most competent and professional. I also liked that JM Events was based nearby our venue. Two months ahead of the event, Alexis began working with us. We tossed around a lot of high-level ideas we were considering and Alexis provided insight on whether or not or how they would work within the constraints of our venue and timeline. Alexis and Lilian also had vendor recs at the ready at different price points whenever we needed them as well. Over time we narrowed down which ideas we wanted at our wedding and Alexis provided invaluable insight on wedding logistics and restaurant service ops that we should consider in our planning. She attended our venue walkthrough with us so that we could begin to visualize placement for different "stations" at our wedding and also served as our advocate with the various vendors we had hired. She also checked in with us and the vendors over increments in time so that we met all of our venue deadlines and to ensure that all of the vendors were in lockstep with what we were planning.  The week of the event, Alexis worked to make sure to send out event confirmations with all of our vendors so that each vendor was prepared to arrive on time and any accommodation our vendors needed were provided. This was so impressive that my make-up artist asked me where I had found Alexis! Alexis and Lillian were consummate professionals through and through, I felt supported the entire time and any question I had was met with a very considered response that only a very experienced events planning professional could provide.  Our wedding celebration was one of the best days of both my husband and my lives. We also received so many compliments on our event, like "best wedding ever" and "can I copy your entire wedding?" I was on cloud nine the whole night and in watching some of my friend's video footage I saw Alexis working in the background making sure that our timeline was executed exactly as planned.  I know certainly that without JME and Alexis, our night would not have went off as seamlessly as it did and I am so grateful for JME and their team. From the start, however, we already knew we wanted to work with Lilian and her team. Given that I had more time, somewhat wanted the challenge of planning a wedding, and felt pretty prepared, we opted for the month-of services. Once we started working with Lilian, our wedding-planning life honestly became sooo much easier. I feel like we had a pretty good idea and plan for everything we needed, yet, Lilian still, easily, made things even better. There were so many things we didn't know we needed. She was so thorough, organized, and thoughtful and knowing she and her team would be by our side to finalize the details and (basically) walk us down the aisle, really put us at ease. Her communication was spot on - not just with us, but with our vendors, and with handling any (not unexpected) last minute changes. She was so easy to reach and communicate with, and was always so patient and efficient. She knew what we wanted, what we needed, and offered suggestions along the way. On our big day, her team was just as great - from the pre-wedding set up, making sure our bridal party had everything we needed, even helping us order boba - Lilian had everything all thought out. Not only did Grace plan our wedding in that short amount of time (about 4 months) but she also planned our rehearsal dinner and welcome party the day before. Somehow, she made everything feel effortless. The wedding was beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of. Grace handled EVERYTHING, from venue coordination, food, drinks, logistics, rentals, linens, signage, party favors, website details, photography, videography, florals, hair and makeup and even helping secure approvals with the fire marshal for real candles and full drapery. Every vendor she recommended was incredible and together they created the absolute dream team. We had countless calls and probably millions of text messages from me, especially as a Type A bride, and Grace was patient, responsive, organized and always one step ahead. She truly understood our vision and made us feel supported throughout the entire process. Our welcome party, rehearsal dinner and wedding day were PERFECT. Honestly, beyond perfect. Guests are still telling us it was the best wedding they have ever attended. Our wedding party and immediate family kept saying not only was it the best wedding ever, but that we had assembled the best vendor team imaginable all thanks to Grace.
