This Sonic trip shouldn't have been as complicated as it was. Ordering was very difficult. The young lady at the drive thru was friendly. There also was a guy who was actually in skates taking orders out to cars! I've never seen this at any other location. I really think my visit wasn't good due to staffing. I'm not really sure. The Sonic in Alera AL is so hot and miss, but mostly miss. Ordered a large sonic blast, and they informed me they no longer sell large ice cream anything. Even though it's still on the menu. Thru act like they just don't care at this location. read more

It's fast food but it's still food that I want to enjoy. It's fairly new and two thumbs up for bringing one to the area. I did the drive-thru and they ask if you want to see a menu. I am assuming this allows for more one on one interaction in hopes of speed. However, it was not fast paced but the young lady at the window did apologize for the wait. Oh back to the food, I only had a corndog and tots, all freshly cooked and a coke and I did enjoy. Not bad and I will start giving them more of my business since the location is closer. On Monday November 20. 2022. The stalls weren't working you had to go through the drive thru. I order my food on my Sonic App so I get my deals. However, I couldn't believe the egg they gave me on my Bacon Egg and cheese Brioche and the Sausage Egg and cheese one as well. Look for yourselves. Plus, my Medium Lemonade with peach flavor had very little peach flavor in it. Because usually it's really good and balanced but not today. Also, if you can't give your customers a decent whole egg then closed the store until you have enough supplies just don't up the price and give customers half of egg. The stalls were packed so I'm expecting fresh food. I got thru the drive thru and this is what I get! I cold burger that looks like it was ripped off some else's wrong order and cold as tots. Been coming here often since they opened and it's always been good. My wife used the app to order and I went and picked it up- we both work in the area. For some reason we both wanted chicken. I got the chicken club sandwich and she got the spicy chicken slinger. Mine was over cooked with the first bite being dry and stringy with large white chunks of iceberg lettuce throughout. Also their chicken sandwiches are the same size as a chicken biscuit at bojangles. I asked wife how hers was and she said it was undercooked, even pink in the middle. If you have a hankerin' for chicken in Calera there's a Zaxbys and a Chic fil a less than 100 yards from Sonic and a Bojangles about 1/8 mile away. Even a Burger King chicken sandwich would've been better. Usually we love the experience at Sonic but today was an off day for them. The only defense I have for them was it was during the lunch peak and they were crowded as usual, but consistency is key in any business. Terrible service. Ordered for mobile pickup because the drive through line was long. Witnessed an employee bringing food out to other cars that had ordered on mobile as well. Placed my ordered and pulled into stall 9. After about 25 minutes my food was still not ready or delivered to me. I pressed the red button and was told that they were drive thru only. I preceded to tell the lady that I had placed a mobile order. She then told me to come through the drive thru to get it. Pure laziness. Stay away from this place. Every time I go to this sonic something is wrong. Tonight I ordered the number one, no lettuce and no pickles and no mustard. When I got it, it had lettuce and no tomatoes, no onions, and no pickles. That was fine, no big deal I just pushed the button and asked if we could have one with no lettuce and to add the tomatoes and onions. They came and took the old one and went back in the building. There should be an option for no star at all! It's always a great time when you try to order food, the MANAGER argues with you and calls the police. I tried to order a double cheeseburger add bacon w/ extra onions. A woman named Misty comes on and tells me that isn't what I want, that I want a bacon double cheeseburger. I let her know that that was what I wanted. She asks me(the customer) what's the difference? I tell her well..one has onions and pickles, the other doesn't. We go back and forth over something that I want and am paying for. She tells me she doesn't have to take my order and completely shuts down my stall. I go through the drive-thru because how RUDE! I asked to speak to the manager and guess what!? Misty is the manager. I tried again to explain the difference to her and she says she knows.. She "knows"! I ask for the store manager's info and she locks the window, puts the bar down, and calls the police.
