My son and I came here on a Sunday morning and it was quite busy. I highly suggest getting on their waitlist before showing up on a weekend. They are only open till 2 PM. It's mostly a breakfast place but they do have some lunch options as well. I decided to get the strawberry Tres Leche French toast, which was very delicious. It looked like it was a new item on their menu. My son always gets the same thing he got the Monterey club. Summer was our server and she was very good but you could tell that they needed more staff. He used to pay your bill at the cash register but now you just pay it directly to the server. Parking can be a little difficult, especially on the weekends. Our server was very attentive. I did visit the bathrooms and they were very clean. This is definitely a place. I have on rotation for breakfast. read more

Food first, thoughts after... I went here for brunch with friends on a supposed "snow day". It was so busy! From the moment I arrived, to my friends trickling in, to us leaving the front door was packed. I got the frittata rustica. This is a solid choice. Fall menu is OUT! You can join their waitlist from their website - a great start. They set a pot of coffee on the table as soon as we sat down with multiple creamer options - an even greater start. Pumpkin spice doughnuts ($6) were perfectly warm and soft with cream cheese and salted caramel dip. The honey chipotle chicken hash ($15) was full of different flavors. I'm usually bored with any kind of hash bowl because it's dry and doesn't pack a ton of flavor but I had a feeling this would be different and I was right. Honey chipotle glazed chicken and eggs over medium (any style) atop potatoes, roasted bell peppers and onions, Monterey Jack, cheddar and cotija cheeses, pickled red onions (perfect acid component that complemented everything so well), avo, and lime crema. I'd eat this every day, truly. David got the chickichanga ($14) and upgraded to the million dollar potatoes. He loved both and was very satisfied with the portion (rare for him). I visited this establishment a couple of days ago and I enjoyed my breakfast. My sever was so nice. Helped me to decide on breakfast because there is a lot to choose from. Service was quick on that day ,so I did not have to wait long before I was seated to get my food. I ordered the hash and a blueberry pancake which was really good. .. It was time for a sister date so we came here before my little sister headed to work. It wasn't busy when we arrived. The host was friendly and sat us quickly. Took a while to receive our water and her apple juice. Food arrived and it honestly missed the mark for me. The fritatta was overcooked, pancakes were okay, kale tonic was brought out in what appeared to be a kids cup because of a no ice request. When asked about it the waitress said "that's just how the owner says we have to do no ice orders". No other First Watch, including a visit less than 2 weeks ago, has done that. read more

We went on a Sunday around 11am. There was a 30 minute wait. The staff was friendly and attentive. The facility was clean and orderly despite being very busy. I didn't order coffee this time but they have really good coffee. My son ordered an iced coffee and said it was good. The Florentine egg Benedict had raw spinach (the only florentine factor) which I found surprising. I wouldn't order it again unless I asked them to cook and season it. The biscuit and gravy was good. I can say that it was really busy but they do a great job of serving everyone and getting orders right. We had the trifecta and the barbacoa chilaquiles bowl. The trifecta was a Belgium waffle, eggs and chicken sausage. The barbacoa chilaquiles bowl was seasoned black beans, scrambled eggs and seasoned barbacoa beef in a spicy sauce over tortilla chips. Now this was something new for me and it satisfied all of my taste buds. It has so much going on but it all tastes so good together. (I skipped the green chilies.) Fresh fruit was nice, though I bet it changes based on what's available and looks good that day. Mine was pretty much grapes, melon, and pineapple. The artisan bread was nice even though I typically don't go for such textured breads since they can be dry and "scratchy"--this was neither, so a plus in my book. It was plated nicely but I dis not enjoy the taste nor texture, the hash was big chunks of potatoes ...I already had a guess in my kind of what the meal would visually look like and or hoped for ,this wasn't it . I HATED to be that girl but I had to send it back . Don't let this detour you from trying for yourself ,my taste buds have a mind of their own and I had to satisfy it fully lol. I drizzle hot sauce and Pico on top . So good ! The star of this experience was most definitely the seasonal LEMON Blueberry cornbread. Again ,I was weary because everyone has a way of making their cornbread ,I grew up on jiffy ,I don't like the mealy taste of certain cornbread. This Here was perfect. Met a friend at First Watch in Hoover for brunch. I decided to get on the waitlist via the website, which I strongly suggest anyone do during busy hours. The wait wasn't long (maybe 10 minutes) once I checked us in. It took about 6 minutes for our server to greet our table but the place was packed and they seemed to be short staffed. But overall, service was good throughout our dining. I ordered the Tri-fecta, which I got two scrambled eggs, a chicken sausage patty and Belgium waffle. The waffle was described as being light and fluffy and the description couldn't have been more accurate. The berry compote that is served with it was so good that I didn't even need syrup. The eggs were real and not the powdered kind you find at most places. It was my first time getting a chicken sausage patty but I liked it. You won't see chandeliers hanging off of the ceiling and you won't be served on crystal and fine china, but they do making an airy, bright and pleasant environments to eat your food. The food itself is a bit beyond the usual offerings. Not that those items are obliterated from the menu, but rather they add on to the menu. You can get healthier options, as well as the bacon and eggs breakfast. You can't go wrong with any of their omelettes and their eggs benedict are pretty stellar, as well. Our waitress was very pleasant and offered to get us coffee or whatever else we wanted to drink. The food: I have had the pumpkin pancake breakfast multiple times and it is fantastic, but today I felt like getting two of there ginormous pancakes...and yes they were the size of a large plate each. I decided on the carrot cake pecan pancakes and they blew my mind. They came with cinnamon butter and were full of shredded carrot, pecans, and raisins. Highly recommend these pancakes.
