On 6/3/2026, at approximately 3:30 PM, my party and I visited your Sonic Drive-In location in Hampton Cove with the intention of placing a dinner order. Utilizing the traditional stall ordering system, we initiated our request. Three out of the four individuals in our vehicle wished to place an order. Upon pressing the service button, a female attendant with a soft-spoken demeanor responded. I began to articulate our order, but after providing the details for only one of the intended three orders, communication ceased abruptly. Despite my attempts to inform the speaker that we had not completed our order, there was no audible response or acknowledgment for several seconds. After this period of silence, I pressed the service button a second time. On this occasion, a different female attendant, whose voice suggested an older individual, came over the speaker. When she inquired about our order, I explained that we had already begun placing it but had been unable to finalize it. It appeared there was a misunderstanding or a lack of record of our initial interaction. The attendant requested a moment to investigate, and I could hear her activities in the background, presumably attempting to locate our previously initiated order. She then returned to the speaker and asked us to repeat what we had ordered. I reiterated the initial portion of our order. Following this, an order appeared on the screen, and the attendant then prompted us for the remaining items. However, the order displayed on the screen was not only entirely incorrect based on what we had communicated but also reflected a cost that was double what we would have expected for the items placed. Throughout subsequent attempts to clarify and correct this discrepancy, it became increasingly apparent that the attendant was not accurately processing our information. Our efforts to resolve the issue were met with repeated assertions that no prior order had been placed, which was both frustrating and disheartening. yo my boss always has me and my 3 other coworkers come here almost everyday to get 4 large slushes from 2pm-4pm because of the "happy hour" prices and every time we have an issue. usually it's because most of the workers don't want to put in the effort to add extra flavor ( which we pay for by the way) but today was the worst. We sat at the drive through ordering thing for about 10 minutes while 4 cars left the store and when I spike into the mic asking if I was going to be serviced no one answered. so we drove it to the window and was met with nothing but rude employees including the manager. we where there at 3:55 and even after telling them they we kept getting "happy hour is over" yeah....because yall took so long! and please don't be rude to pe like my boss.... She's just an older lady trying to get slushes but I would be surprised if she was afraid to come back because you all where unnecessarily rude. smh I'm giving yall a -5 star rating. Nothing crazy, just a large #12 with cheese tots and a limeade. I got someone else order entirely about 10 minutes after it said the person was heading to my car with my order. If I could rate 0 stars I would! My friends and I are broke. And we ordered medium mozzarella sticks, which should be 6 sticks, but they gave us 4 and no sauce. We went back thru the drive thru and told them our dilemma , but they said we had to pay extra money to get our 2 missing mozzarella sticks. Terrible awful customer service. And the drive thru has a massive dip in the road that feels like you are falling off a freakin cliff when you drive over it. They need to fix that. read more

I ordered a grape limeade slushy with nerds and received a grape iced drink that tastes like medicine with sprite. When I complained and told the lady working that I asked for a slushy she insisted that there were "nerds" in it when really wanted was the slushy. She was aggressive with me and really made me never want to come back. She grabbed the drink and added more nerds and then gave it to me when I just wanted my grape slushy. read more

If I could choose zero stars that's what the 2nd shift at store #5033 deserves for the subpar customer service I received. I'm an African American female and I'm embarrassed and livid at how the black ghetto female treated me at the restaurant. I'm so mad because we work so hard to be respected by other ethnic groups but treat each other like what we despise the most. I pressed the red button for service, the African American female comes on, I began to place my order, she interrupts, "give me a second" in a very rude and nasty tone. Ask for manager no one answered. Drove around to drive thru window. African American female with headset/ glasses and white female looks at me and turns there backs. Well, make sure you drink slowly and hope it lasts. Ordered a meal and a regular poweraid (not a slush or specialty drink) and they filled it to the brim with ice and little to drink. With it being hot and working outside all morning, I finished it within a few sips. Asked if I could get a refill, she said "we don't do refills anymore, would you like to order another drink?" Absolutely not. If they are not willing to refill the drink and you can't go and refill it yourself as you would at any other fast food joint, why fill it all the way with ice and not much to drink. So it's 9:35 p.m. and I'm in the drivethru and I pull up and they are drink only, even though they don't close til 10 p.m.. Meaning they are supposed to close at 10 p.m not 9:35 p.m.. This sonic is consistently terrible. Tonight i waited 20 minutes for a cheeseburger and tots and they got my order wrong. I was asking how much longer it would be and the window was slammed in my face. I knocked and knocked and someone came over. I asked for my money back and the manager hands me my money without a word and i started to ask for an apology and the window was slammed in my face again. Not sure what is happening but third time may be the charm to lose my biz. I'm running out of places to eat close by. I haven't had subway since 2005? Rarely chicken filet either. I used to love sonic for a treat now and then and I do actually like their burgers. And as a yankee I like chili burgers but hard to find. I could get it here. Today was half price burger day. Moderately crowded at 11:30 am. Third time I pushed button and got no response. Various parking slots. Pushed numerous times. Watched people go thru drive thru. Is that how it goes? We wait bc we are parked? Are the machines broken? If so, do daily checks or you lose people- they pull away. Always understaffed and can't seem to say "hi- can You wait one moment please?"
