When I said what I was looking for, I was taken straight the absinthe. I don't think i would have found it on my own. This is a pretty small store that doesn't seem to have the largest selection. The absinthe was only available in one size - it will probably last me the rest of my life. This sounds terrible, but I rarely leave the ABC with just what I went in for. I found a few other things to try. Even though the prices were clearly marked on the shelved, I still had sticker shock - the Alabama sin tax annoys the heck out of me. Check out was pleasant - we had a little chat about various drinks and then I was on my way. I still haven't made my Sazerac.

Over the years, I have visited it numerous times without any issue. As with any ABC store, you know what you are getting. This store, although small-ish in size, does offer all the standard liquor selections. The only complaint is the parking lot. The parking lot is very small, with limited spaces. If you visit this ABC store, be sure to pay close attention to pedestrians trying to get into the store and also be aware of folks vying for the limited parking spaces.

This really isn't going to be a place to come for obscure items though. But vodka, tequila, whiskey, run, and those types of things they have an ok selection. Not over the top abundance, but they are going to get you what you need especially if you find yourself in a pinch. Only interaction with staff was during check out. They were plenty nice and actually had several people trying to check out at the same time and got them taken care of pretty quickly. Prices are what you would expect at ABC. Less than 3 minutes into me asking what cost what, she walks off and starts helping another customer. I waited for a few minutes thinking she was going to come back, but she just went on about her business and left me hanging. So after standing there for another 10 minutes, I realized she or any other employee weren't coming back to further assist me, so I left those cases and walked out. I'm definitely not supporting a business that will just ignore their customers like that.

I recall you could mix and match your wines in the case and still get the discount. I don't think Windmill offers the same discount, but don't quote me, I've been wrong before. Great Sprits always had Vinho Verde which I love in the hot summer months and the staff would be more than happy to help you to the car with your purchases. There are several coolers with chilled wines and beer selection. This location is "easy in" and "easy out" if you are southbound on Memorial Parkway. I have never had a bad experience at any Windmill store I've been to. This store should be a solid option for your beer/wine/liquor needs. I recommend you ignore the Yelp classification of this being a party planning store, or a gift shop/wedding gift shop. The only gift related items I saw here were wine gift bags.
