Five-Star dining Sonic Drive In is not. But when you've spent hours hiking in the heat and hours driving or riding in a car, it is a relief to see a food place with a bathroom and milkshakes. Especially since we are in the middle of nowhere. The servers will deliver your food on roller skates and that is really cool. And of course, part of the appeal of Sonic. The food is good. I came to get my strawberry shake after a long day at work. The guy who took my order was very rude and pushy. He was laughing when he presented me my order came to find out a fly was in my milk shake. I came back to the store to replace it; the manager was rude. One of the more affordable fast food places in town. Fast service most of the unless extremely busy. Convenient ordering system. Nice people delivering food to car. Large portions. I worry that when Popeyes opens next door they will be hit hard. read more

HAVE AGAIN: lime fruit slush is very good, as always. NOT HAVE AGAIN: the chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries were not particularly hot, were mushy, and not very tasty. Also, the inside eating area was not very inviting and the rest room was sub-par. read more

Stopped here for just a quick bite before heading into monument valley. Service was a tad slower than I'm used to from Sonic back home; but this place was packed and had a drive thru and had lots of outside seating. Our order was correct, no mistakes. Burger was great. Hot and fresh. Tots were just ok. Fresh but just warm. Popcorn chicken wasn't that great. Didn't taste like chicken. Just breading, old. Bathrooms were disgusting. No toilet paper, only paper towels. Went here July 2011. Had to send a scout to the building since we were never prompted to get an order, button pushes were ignored, and local panhandlers were coming to our car to beg for money to buy a drink. Eventually our food was delivered without straws or napkins, so we sent another volunteer up for supplies. Currently we have no plans to ever return to this sonic, I knew we should have gone to BK instead. read more

Horrible!! Food took forever. People that ordered after us got their food first. Food was not how we ordered it. Food was cold. Burgers were old, cold, and burnt. Fries were cold. Returned the food and it came back later with warmer fries but burger was still awful. It took our friends 30 minutes to get a hamburger only....and there was only one order before them. It seems that all the focus went to the drive-thru rather than the walk-ups. HORRIBLE!!!!! read more

Made a stop to this establishment to catch a late lunch before heading back to Flagstaff. Had the chicken sandwich meal with onion rings. The commercials you see on TV is just hype to get you excited. Even McDonald's would have been better than what we had. Paid approx. $15 for two meals (sandwich, side of onion rings, and a drink) Not the best, and there are stray (?) dogs that hang around and beg to get fed from you (so sad) read more

We placed our order at the drive thru board I made sure to say 2 times only mustard on my Jr cheeseburger deluxe. Well what do I see when I open up my wrapper......a very flattened hamburger bun with 2 finger marks in dented in it ,underneath was a very cold burger with a piece of very cold cheese and under the burger is mayo! What a mess! I have to park get out and point out the mistake and wait over 10 minutes for a replacement that had mustard and was only slightly lukewarm. Never going back there again. First visit to a Sonic and there were some hits and misses. The footlong hot dog with onions and chili was a soggy bland mess. I enjoyed my bbq bacon cheeseburger toaster though and the bread was buttery goodness. The onion rings and tater tots were okay, with the tater tots being the better of the two. The husband liked the chicken tenders, but the favorite of the whole meal was the Oreo Sonic Blast. YUM! Not for the lactose-intolerant, but for those who aren't afraid of dairy, it was a yummy delicious treat. Oreos crushed in a smooth vanilla ice cream, I even liked it more than the Oreo McFlurry at Mcdonalds because it seemed a bit lighter and smoother. Got a burger and a shake. Burger was fine, shake was great.

Top notch sonic. Great food, and great customer service. Not what you would expect in the middle of the dessert. Great rock sculptures in the distance, with vast valleys. read more

It's about 9:25pm, Saturday evening. We just left after eating a late night dinner from our adventurous day. We've been snacking on energy bars, chips, pretzels, etc. throughout the entire day and this was our first actual meal. We have no complaints like the other reviews. Service was fast, period. The server didn't talk to us, but he still accommodated our requests for sauces after he gave us our food (which btw, was all correct! -- even with our special requests of no mayo on only a few sandwhiches). Went there Oct. 2013. Button pushes totally ignored. Inside was very dirty, and bathrooms were worse. No soap, and employee used that bathroom. I refused to eat there, but my husband did. Happy to report, he did not get sick. read more

I wouldn't even give it one star. The idiot taking our order obviously didn't know what anything was or how to say it and had us repeat our order MORE than 5 times. You could hear the other employees, who were screaming in the background. The guy would apologize and laugh for his co workers distracting him. Horrible customer service, honestly wanted to go in tree and punch the guy in the face that's how frustrating it was. ordered about 20 dollars worth of food and he said our total had finally come out to almost 40 dollars. We figured by this time these idiots working wouldn't get the order right and he charged us for random items, so we just drove off.
