Had a mobile order. Stood there for 15 minutes before they would acknowledge our presence. Employee did not know how to find our order. Other employee had to show her how to do this. Then, when we finally got our food, it was cold. We come here about once a month, Just to remind ourselves what a festering dung-heap the Cortez Dairy Queen is. Stay away from this place. Everything a this dairy queen was just so sad, service , people and the food all sucked. (To start i work at dairy queen and understand how EASY all of those positions are). Right as we came we could tell they didnt have it together, it took 20 mins to even get up to the window and when we did the lady didnt acknowledge us for another 5 mins, when she did i pointed out how she missed something (bc once again i work at dq and i know how to read the order tickets) and she stood there staring for maybe a minute and goes "yah ur right i did" asked me if i wanted it? Like uhm yes? She seemed like she was extremely high or something.. she was also very inappropriately dressed for work. Then, she told us to move so we can get the food we had just added, she gave me my bag full of cold food and we drove away thinking it was right.. bad mistake bc it wasnt . She brought me out my basket she missed and i pointed out nicely how things were forgotten, she proceeded to take my burger and then bring it back? Thats not even allowed . And then she started to argue that i was trying to get free food, super disappointed in this dq. Your rood rations are tiny compared to any other dq, your staff suck and are extremely disrespectful to your customers, ur blonde lady who packs food also seemed like she was on drugs, and the young brunette had a snarky attitude and made rude comments and the lady at the drive thru last night around 9:10 pm is not suited for the position she told me "yeah this is way to much for me right now" when i said "wow looks super busy" .. maybe thats her saying she cant do it and u should replace her.... Hands down worst dq experience ever. Will be taking this to my crew as what NOT to do. If i could give zero stars i would. Maybe you need to choose business over having pretty girls work there because they do not know what they are doing. Maybe train them better as well and give resources when it gets busy. I noticed there is only one auto blender and one hand blender. Thats not efficient in any way, managers do better. Crew member do better. Its not hard to give the customer a good experience. If I could pick no stars, I would. I ordered, the worker repeated it back wrong, I corrected her and she read it back correctly, then when I pulled up to the window the lady seemed super drowsy, she seemed like she was on some type of drugs or something. She then handed me my order and I checked the bag, the order was wrong so I told her, she asked me to pull forward to fix it. I did and another worker came out with one of my items, I was still missing a few things from my order so I told the lady, she asked for a receipt I looked in the bag and I wasn't even given a receipt in the first place, I spent $70 so a receipt is kind of important. the worker who I expressed this too accused me of trying to get free food, instead of realizing her coworker made a simple mistake and trying to fix it. and was super snarky thinking she caught me trying to get free food. I understand some people are like that, and that's horrible, but I was just tired and trying to bring back food to our family at our hotel, and I do not appreciate the sassy attitude from the blonde woman who "packed my order" and refused to believe she forgot to pack one of our items. She requested the receipt and I AGAIN let her know, I was not given one and she shrugged her shoulders like she couldn't recall the receipt. Ive worked in fast food, my sister currently works at Dairy Queen, so we know it's so easy to recall a receipt. I paid $70 for food, and received a little over half what i actually paid for. I ended up just leaving because the workers were not believing me at all for some reason. I would've rather starved than spent $70 on food I didn't get, and on top of that be treated like that after trying to figure out the problem calmly and kindly, I understand making mistakes in food service, we are humans we all make mistakes but gaslighting me into believing I'm stealing is crazy. I'm 17 days away from turning 32 and this is the first time in my life to try out Dairy Queen! Always wanted to try their ice cream just to say I have tried them. I went with the Blizzard flavor of the month which was Heath Caramel Brownie and OMG it blow me away. Very sweet, rich, and plenty of crunchy stuff. Drive thru window- Took order of crispy chicken sandwich, onion rings and 'the LARGEST size strawberry kiwi slush that you have please'. She proceeds to repeat my order 3 times- I said largest you have! Pulled up to the pay window and 'told' to pull over to side while order is cooked (no big deal- I expected that), order comes out and the girl hands me my bag and a 'small' strawberry kiwi slushi. Uhm....I told the girl that I ordered the larges sushi that you have. She sheepishly says 'OK, let me go find out'. The young lady manager comes out and abruptly says, "IS there a PROBLEM'...Wow! NO problem- I say, explaining to her that I ordered the largest slushi that you have. Well, I can go ring you up another one- you paid for a small?!! Im thinking to myself- sheesh-Its only 90 degrees outside! Anyways it was the unprofessional way that the young lady handled the issue leaving me to not want to come back again. There is not a lot to say about this DQ. They have the same food and ice cream as any other, and it's good stuff served quickly by efficient young staff. It is quite old-fashioned, not as up to date as most DQ stores. For me that was a charming aspect though and not a problem. I noticed among their "local flavor" options were a steak finger basket and strawberry shortcake. It's located next to Pizza Hut on a main drag in Cortez. read more

We were visiting friends in Cortez and ate there a couple different times. Food was always fresh. Their fries were excellent. It was clean even when they were busy. Much better than our Dairy Queen back home. read more

My experience at this Dairy Queen was overall great. I wasn't from around the area, just passing through from out of state and they took the time to help me through the menu, let me know of certain specials going on and I didn't feel rushed at all as they assured me to take all the time I needed. Once I ordered, the food came out super quick which made me think it might not be made up to standard, but nope it came out wasn't super greasy or anything and also looked almost picture perfect!
