Food was good, coffee was good. That's what I'd expect. What stood out was a little act of kindness I witnessed when here almost 2 years ago. I'd had a long, hard day and was feeling pretty crappy after being on the road for a few days straight. I pulled in to the Holiday Inn next door early in the afternoon pretty wiped out. I crashed and woke up around 10pm pretty hungry. It was snowing outside and I walked the short distance to Denny's. Walked in, sat down and a cup of coffee arrived quickly. Food came quick, too. While I was there, a young lady came in, looked like she'd been on the road for a while. She said she had little money and was asking the waitress what she could get for what she had. Waitress said not to worry about the money and brought her a big plate of food. Just me and this lady in the restaurant at around 10PM. Waitress and cook, also. I just sat there and enjoyed that moment of people just being good humans and looking after each other. I paid my bill, tipped the waitress well and left a bit extra to help the lady who had come in. Walked back out into the snow and back to my warm hotel room. I hope that lady got to stay there in the Denny's for a while and warm up. That little act of kindness from the waitress has stuck with me for a long time and I often think about it. I don't know what her name was, but it has really stuck with me. I'll always make a point of stopping here whenever I pass through. read more

Always love Denny's. I have dietary restrictions (vegan), and they are very accommodating and always have several choices that meet my needs, and more all the time. Most recently, their nine grain pancakes, which are out of this world and made without dairy. The staff is always friendly and pleasant, despite many a cranky customer. The restaurant and restrooms are always clean. Plus they're open 24 hours, can't beat that. read more

Love the vintage Diner look of this place. It's easy to spot from Main Street. We had a nice breakfast, wanted something smaller for breakfast and their Senior (+55) menu has smaller portions and lower price. I don't think they age check- lol- so you can order it no matter your age!! Imagine being carded if you're 45... haha!! Lots of selection and fast service too. Just a 5 minute wait for a table on a weekend. That's great! CO is opening up from restaurants restrictions and everyone seems to react differently. Now: Inside dining, Nice customers, some family groups, seating isn't quite 6 feet apart and people do take off their masks to eat. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Booths are cleaned between patrons. Seems safe to me. During COVID-19 times, you get pre-packaged silverware- at least it's not plastic! Plastic knives are a pain. Nastiness!!! Worst service EVER!!! Food was inedible, when it finally arrived. Cannot believe they stay in business at all!!! We were desperate, but NEVER EVER that desperate again!!! We should have taken the hint that it was NOT at all a good choice, when we waited nearly 45 to even be waited on. Visiting Cortez for the first time and was looking for a breakfast place open early. Have of course been to Denny's in other cities but what a huge surprise at how nice this Denny's is. The food was good, and the restaurant has a cool retro diner vibe, but most importantly, the service here is just phenomenal. Waitress, cashier, and especially the manager (who was constantly refilling coffee, asking if everything was good etc) were just 1000% on their game, friendly, prompt, welcoming. This location is TERRIBLE. Not only did I find a BIG LONG BLACK HAIR in my sandwich but the service was bad, the food was over cooked and the portions weren't correct for a normal Dennys. Visit: Wednesday, June 20, 2018 After two days of having no good food in Mesa Verde, we were excited to come back down to the modern world and have something to eat for lunch. Not wanting to take any chances, we went to the first chain restaurant we saw, and that happened to be Denny's. The place was somewhat busy, but we were able to be seated right away. Being that we were all super hungry, we ordered a bunch of food. I ordered a Grand Slamwich with a fruit cup and an extra Caesar salad on the side. The sandwich was pretty salty, but still tasted good and came in a big portion. I was so hungry that I didn't notice at first that my sandwich came with hash browns instead of the fruit cup I ordered. Our server noticed before I did and then brought me a fruit cup. We ended up getting charged for both, which is unusual since they made the mistake, but I ate both, so I didn't question it. Both the hash browns and the fruit cup were pretty average and unremarkable. The salad was overly dressed, in my opinion, but at least the lettuce tasted fresh and wasn't soggy. Service was okay. Besides bringing me the wrong side, they did nothing wrong. They were all friendly and pleasant overall. We never had to wait too long for our food or for anything else we requested. This is more or less what you'd expect from a Denny's: decent food and decent service that does the trick. read more

Pulled in with seven hangry kids at 8:30 at night. We left an hour later with full tummies and happy smiles! They sat us right away, and got our (large order of) food ten minutes after ordering. Impressive. Our waitress Summer was attentive and so kind. She joked with the kids, and never let anyone's drinks get less than a quarter full.
