Went to Sonic today for the last time. I was at the drive through & found the lady very rude & condescending. I wanted to get my 3 year old an ice cream for being so good at the barber. I have in the past asked for an ice cream for a child. She acted like I asked for something alien. "We don't have a child's ice cream. I don't understand what you want"! This was only the beginning of the transaction. I won't go into the rest. I then asked for a manager from the employee who brought me the drinks. She apologized and informed me that the lady who took my order was Wendy the manager. She also said, "yes, she's very rude. We get that a lot". For the record, the lady who brought the drink was very kind. In the future I will take the trip to Rita's in Modesto for my sons ice cream since they specialize in kindness. read more

Pulled into a shady spot and pressed the button to order. Waited. It reset, so pushed button to order again, and it reset. In the meantime someone pulls up and gets Assisted right away. Since they are on the other side, employee either does nor see my car or ignores my car parked. So, pull into the drive thru and promptly and courteously get my drink. I explain the issue and they state they didn't know. Looks like this has been a problem for months or years. Why not put up "out of order" signs or "if no one comes out to serve you within 10 min of pressing the button, please notify the staff at the drive thru". Quick and easy access to spots to pull up. Not usually crowded. The food is decent, the slushes are usually the way to go.

I hate to give Sonic a 1 star but this was my worst Sonic experience. Service was fine and the employee we dealt with was nice but the food was horrible. I got the Ciabatta Breakfast sandwich. The bread was stale, the egg was gross, and the bacon was burned. They obviously don't care about the quality of food. Wish I had read the other reviews before throwing away my money here read more

Went to the walk up speaker and no one answered it for ten minutes ( youNg man behind me got no answer ether) . so got in the car went in the drive through two cars In Front of me ten min goes past one car leaves wait five more minutes then I leave to Carl's across the street. read more

Horrible customer service!!!!! Last Sunday we went and our order wasn't fully cooked. Mind you we waited a good 15 minutes. I called and got hung up on. Didn't call back because that's not how they should've handled the situation. Also every time we go to get ice cream or milk shakes they aren't available. They say their machine isn't working. So you mean to tell me your machine doesn't work 4 days out of the week? Normally we go around 8:30 - 9:00 at night. They probably already cleaned it and don't want to clean it again. 35 minutes wait for a burger made wrong twice. Getting ready to leave tired of looking at the only other car in the stall and the drive thru standing still. When my order arrives. Cold tater tots and a burger with cheese. I asked for a #1 no cheese and a cherry lime aid. And added a tater tot small. Tried to catch her before she charged my card. I don't have time to wait 27 more minutes. To eat. I could have cooked and finished the dishes in this amount of time. She says we can have it ready right away. REALLY ? 27 min for a burger and now you can get it right away? OK. Burger is delivered in lightening speed. WRONG AGAIN She comes up to my car says I have you a large bag of tater tots. They are hot. And here is your burger. No cheese. Or onions. I reply no onions? Her face sunk. I ask for a manager. I'm at 35 min. No dinner. And out 8 dollars. She says as proud as can be. I am the shift leader. No store manager or shift manager is at this site. I ask what went wrong. I am now in the stalls with 2 cars and 1 patio order. And the same exact cars still sitting in the drive through. She says they are busy. We both look around at an empty parking lot. I tell her I do this same order every Friday with out any problems with 10+ stalls filled. Patio full and drive thru wrapped around the building and I am able to get a correct order. Hot with in 10 minutes. She walks away leaving me with an incorrect burger but the large tater tots were supposed to make up for? I'm not trying to get free food or an increase in anything. I just want what I paid for with. 8 dollars worth of incorrect. Called the customer service line. She sounded drained. And frankly told me to call the manager my self. Her report would take to long to file. 24 hrs wulith a follow up. I apologize for bothering her. And told her the best report is a financial report without my donation every Friday. So very simple to review this sad attempt at "fast" food. 20 minutes to get your food, and then its cold when delivered, and another 20 minutes to get a replacement - which is ALSO cold - what a waste of time and money. Not to mention the staff had no clue what was offered on the menu, telling me "you can't do that" when it is displayed on the menu. The manager? "Jill" told me "the owners never tell us what we are supposed to be offering....they're on vacation this week" Really??? And they can't even get my order right for what I *did* order....leaving the meat off the burger, but still charging me for it. I sent the meal back in frustration and drove off hungry....across the street to Jack In the Box, where we got speedy service, hot food, and GREAT customer service. And based on what I see from other Yelp users, I'd avoid this place again, which is sad since I drive up and down 99 all the time. I felt really bad for the carhop who took the brunt of my frustration as she was merely the messenger. Yet when she offered a refund, I accepted....only to be told she didn't know how they were going to do that. Oh yeah, she kept our debit card for over 20 minutes.....can you smell FRAUD? And to top everything off, while using the bathroom, my girlfriend and kids could hear the chef cussing someone out in the kitchen....which considering that I sent food back a second time, could have been aimed at me. Not my fault they only had 1 cook in the kitchen.....So yeah....I'm glad other Sonic locations are not as pitiful as this one.....but unless the ownership cleans house and whips their staff into shape - and addresses our concerns.....we won't be back. Came for milkshakes tonight with my husband... Long day of work for the both of us and it was nice to be out just us two, for a brief moment. Well I'm not sure if the girl taking our order needed a nap or needed to just go home. She was very "short" with our order like if she was irritated we were ordering in general. Acted like she couldn't hear the order or questions my husband was asking about. Very poor customer service. We ordered two milkshakes and a pretzel Twist. Apparently her "finger" pressed one milkshake (even though my husband asked if they carried a coffee milkshake or a drink with coffee) she told us no and then he ordered an oreo milkshake and a pretzel Twist. The guy who brought our order out apologized for our wait, (we didn't wait long honestly but, that was very polite of him), but when we said we only got the one milkshake he double checked our receipt and said she only charged you for the one milkshake and I said because she wasn't even listening to what our order was to begin with. She needs to be retrained. I worked in fast food for 8 years when I was younger and this service was unacceptable. Just sad. read more

This place is awful. The staff is unfriendly, and it takes forever to get your food. Today we decided to give it a third chance vecause we love Sonic however it was even worse than our previous visits. The lady was so rude at the window. She didn't even say hi. Then I got home our hotdogs and corndogs looked like they reheated them 3 or 4 times and they gave us literally like 5 or 6 fries in our box. Very disappointed. I am Deaf and needed for someone to come out and take my order. The sign says to honk or wave to get assistance. I pressed the button several times and had my young son tell them to come take my order. They said they would. Nothing for 15 minutes. I pressed again and they said the same thing. Pressed again after waiting and they said no we can't come out you have to order on the speaker so my young son tried to order. They confirmed the order. Waited and waited. Pressed button and nothing. We should have just left after the first ten minutes. It's been 50 minutes. Finally someone comes and says they didn't get our order. Not happy about it at all. I went through the drive-thru at about 4:45pm on a Monday so it was pretty empty. There was a short haired girl working the window and I have a distinct feeling that she's pretty new because all I ordered was a Lg Cherry Lime-Aid and my order managed to get fouled up. My drink was about 99% carbonated soda and about a spits worth of cherry flavoring barely turning it a pale pink in color instead of the red that I'm used to. Also, no cherry was placed inside the drink which is their signature move of serving the beverage. I got the impression that ownership doesn't know how to train employees or they are skimping everywhere they can. So if you choose to patron this restaurant, it would be my suggestion that you check your order in its entirety to make sure it is exactly what you ordered. Sorry I couldn't give it zero stars....they don't deserve the 1-star rating that I had to give them. read more

Wow...... We have been to this Sonic several times (usually the drive-in) and have always had good service with the car hops...very friendly and courteous. With that being said, I went through the drive THRU to pick a quick bite for me and my partner. I ordered 3 simple items and at the reader board was met with attitude like she was being bothered. I pulled up to the window, the attitude didn't get much better. I took the one bag of food and there were the 3 items. I didn't see napkins and when asked, she seemed more irritated. Now being the fact that I also worked in the fast food industry, things can get crazy and sometimes people forget that they are serving the public so I left it at " She was having a bad day." When I get home and open the bag, because of the way it was laid out in the carton, I found a reg. Chili cheese hot dog instead of the foot Long which obviously was not the same price. I found my receipt and called the store to let them know what happened. I explained to him what had happened to the order and was asked if I had the receipt....HOW DID I GET YOUR NUMBER?? So then he informs me to bring it back...." sir, I am already home and if I go back, Everything else would get cold!" Then when I asked him, "so that's it?" (In disgust) he says sorry for the mistake , have a good nite.....REALLY????? Now I'm mad, so when asked for his name....HE HUNG UP ON ME!!! You NEVER treat your customers that way or you will loose your business and close. I'm waiting for a phone call from the owner of the store that CORPORATE took my information down. Everyone here is extremely rude,even the Manager. Everything takes forever and I feel like it's been this way since 2012. No matter who runs this store it never improves. Their drive-thru menu doesn't even have a light so when it's dark it's incredibly hard to read. Their drive thru PA system sucks it's hard to hear what they're saying to you. I get workers get tired, I'm a cashier myself but the fact that they didn't even try. I asked for extra pickles on my cheeseburger and I got three inside the actual burger and 4 aROUND the burger. My family and I come here a lot. They have great food. But the wait time sucks really bad. It took them 15min. To come out and tell us there's no chilly for the chilly dog. Then 5min. This place needs to be restaffed with employees with better costumer service starting from the top to the bottom. This place is convenient, but not worth The money. So, manger with blue or green hair can be quite rude. She has no proper training, comes outside in slippers to chit chat for over 30 mins while customers can see everything she is doing. The other employees are young some have good customer service, but beware one employee walks right into the kitchen clocks in and begins eating meals while there is a line in drive through and cars waiting on their food. She never washed her hands and on top of everything I could clearly see her enjoying her food as she is making meals for others. I use to work in fast food I understand we can get hungry while on the job, but this is why we have labor laws that gives us breaks to do as such. Should have read reviews before coming in! Sonic has seriously gone downhill, and fast! last time i will come to one for a long while that's for sure. I stopped at this location because I pulled off the road to grab some lunch from carl's jr. Saw Sonic and thought that would be a better choice because their food usually tastes better than carl's.. boy was I WRONG! used their drive thru so i didn't have to stop my car and wait and could get right back on the freeway. their machine was garbley, and had ordered my burger with bacon. Got back on the road, guess what? no bacon! and yes i checked my receipt, i paid for it. not only was there no bacon, the burger was cold, the cheese wasn't melted and the bun was as cold as if they had just pulled it out of the refrigerator. the tots weren't even hot. Pathetic! If In N out can cook their burgers on the fly with cars lined out on the main street and still get thru them in a timely manner, then Sonic should be able to do the same with 4 other cars in their parking lot. read more

I love the ice at the Sonic in Ripon, CA. I will usually order a large ice water with lemon and extra ice. I have done this for the last year. It costs around $1.30. However, today 10/21/14, I went to order my usual and they said the cost of water had changed. I asked how much it was now and the price was $2.58. I don't understand why the price almost doubled. Did everything on the menu double in price? Or did they just not feel like pouring ice and water in a cup? I like the ice but I'm not paying $2.58 for ice water. There was no apology whatsoever for the hike in price. The service here has always been questionable. There is a high chance I will NOT be returning.
