Stopped by Venus, Texas Sonic around noon today, thought is strange no cars there, but went ahead and drove up to drive thru. Ordered a Large Limeade and a Large Cherry Limeade. Went to puck up window and waited, and waited, and waited, young lady comes up and I give here cash, she returns my change and hands me a Cherry Limeade, and starts to close window. I say hay, wave and she opens window, I said hey I ordered two drinks, a limeade and a Cherry Limeade, where is other. She tells me you did not order two drinks and if you want another, drive around building and get back in line. I asked her to just ring me up and get another drink. She recused and I asked for manager, another lady comes up and tells it was a mistake that they must of not heard my order, and she cannot do anything, some machine was broke or something, that I could pull around and get back in line, or whatever, they would not help. I told her that was bad, I would leave review, she told me good, lots of people say that. Its sad if lots of people say that, maybe there is a issue. Ordered chili. The cup was LITERALLY less than half full. Of course I don't realize this until I'm at home. This location is very inconsistent with the quality of food and the offerings. Please work on that. Your regular customers would greatly appreciate it. Fix the drinks the proper way EVERYTIME and have your ice machine operable always. read more

I refuse to take Covid 19 into consideration for horrible customer service. So you should not even bother putting that disclaimer out there. Worst staff ever. Absolutely incompetent, rude and vile. Refused to give me a receipt when I paid cash...This should be a huge RED FLAG to the owner that you are being robbed blind by the incompetent idiots that hate their jobs and have no desire to be there. I'm not the first person who has stated that they were refused a receipt when they paid in cash. I asked for an extra cherry or two in my large diet cherry lime aid. It was happy hour and they said they gave me 8 extra cherries. I just asked for a couple of extras and they charged me $.20 per extra per cherry. They money is not the problem. It is your revolting staff that claimed to be management and literally waved me on my way after the horrid child closed the window in my face while I was asking about the charge for the cherries since she did not tell me about it in advance. You never know what you will get with small town fast food but my husband and I went there today and it was fantastic! The food was perfect and the staff went above and beyond to be friendly and even cracked a joke at the window! One of the better Sonics I've ever been to! read more

There's a reason our local Facebook neighborhood groups are full of people complaining about this location. It's sad that people have to drive 10 miles to another town for Sonic because the service is so horrible. Don't even think about going during happy hour times unless you want to wait 20 minutes before your order is even taken. The rate of wrong orders is probably about 90%. As for the actual food? Well, it's Sonic. Enough said. IF you can get what you actually paid for then it's the same as most places. That's a big if though. Don't waste your time here. I sat in the drive thru window for 10 minutes and no one took my order. Just kept telling me to hold on. Then sat at one of the parking machines, pushed the button and no one took my order for 15 minutes. So I just left. It seems that every fast food place in Venus doesn't hire workers who care about anything but being on their phones. read more

Probably the worst Sonic. Service is ok, but that's me being generous. I've never waited so long for "fast" food. Order is wrong more times than not. I rarely visit anymore due to those facts. I think it's almost been a year since I've stopped at this retched place. If I do visit any time soon, I'll have to order a single item and it'll probably be a shake or soda; any other item and it might get messed up. I can't believe I used to love coming to this Sonic, but now I realize if anyone still eats from here it's not because they love it, it's because of convenience. Terrible service. Always disappointed. Tried again today since I haven't been in a long time. Stalls were all out of order- went to drive thru. No onion rings today. Absolutely terrible. I understand that it's a Wednesday night at 9:00 but that does not give you an excuse to mess around. Some blonde headed worker (not in uniform) with another brown-headed worker (also not in uniform) we're working tonight and we sat in line for 30 minutes with one car in front of us and one car behind us. Yeah, you heard me right, 30 MINUTES and the reason was because someone behind us, who was clearly important enough to stand out in the rain and flirt with, was there so they ignored the customers that have been waiting much longer. Not to mention they took the car they were messing around withs card but never took ours. I am sorry but as workers, you need to care about your customers. When we sit in line for 30 minutes with only one car in front of us the entire time I expect you to have my order ready when I get to the window, but when you say "oh um I don't know how long it will take, but I have your drinks ready" that is ridiculous and you deserve nothing but dirt. I would give this place zero stars but yelp will not allow it. I have lived in Venus going on 4 years and this is one of the four choices of this small town. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS SONIC! I'm 95% sure they change their grease (MAYBE) once a month. Fries and tots are disgusting! Always weird tasting and usually cold. I have finally given up after way too many chances. Since they are always hiring I figure "Hey, maybe they'll get somebody that is somewhat intelligent, that can fix this place". After 4 years of trail and constant errors. This Sonic has got to be the most difficult to order anything at. I've been here several times during business hours and had to leave because no one waited on us. I'll say 75% of the time we had to just leave and go elsewhere. The food is usually fine when we are successful. Horrible experience, would give "0 stars or 1/2 star" if was an option. Stopped here for the first time on our road trip. Went through drive thru, speaker where you order was falling over, that was our first sign we should have just gone elsewhere. Placed our order had to repeat everything several times, but they seemed to get our order. Pull up to pay and get food and they handed us two drinks and two small bags and said "here you go", like I'm done with you get out of my way. We drive off and as passenger I check our order and realize we received no receipt and while we had 3 orders of tots we were missing my wife's chicken sandwich. Turned around and went back, drive thru was long so we went to one of the individual car stalls. Told them what happened and the girl said ok, sorry I'll have it right out. Waited apx 15min and I ate my dinner. My wife hits the button again and it was like we were new and they had no clue. Few minutes later girl comes out with sandwich apologizes and says she had no idea what happened, she's new. My wife says it's cold, likely original sandwich we ordered like 30min ago. The girl just keeps saying I don't know I'm new. My wife asks if going to compensate, the girl again says I don't know I'm new, she really seemed like she had no clue. My wife just takes the cold sandwich. Since we weren't even given a receipt to begin with we have nothing, to argue with other than write this review and advise you stay away from this sonic go to another restaurant or a different sonic. read more

Went to this sonic to get an Oreo blast as I was traveling for the holidays. When I received my Oreo blast it was filled up a quarter of the cup with whipped cream and the very bottom was with plain vanilla ice cream, no Oreos whatsoever! I guess I will just stick with Dairy Queen from now on to get my ice cream fix. read more

i just de ove thru sonic in venus off 67 and asked for an 8 piece cheddar pepper and as i'm sitting there waiting i hear the staff inside screaming and laughing and i'm guessing not paying attention but they handed me cheese sticks instead and she's looking away as she hands them to me and she didn't check the bag to make sure that the order was right, i understand if one thing is wrong with a big order but it was just one thing i asked for. i manage a movie theatre and i understand mistakes happen but come on guys pay attention to your guest you work in the food industry and customer service. read more

Even when there is only one car in the lot you have to wait at least 15 minutes just to get your order even if it's just ice cream. I started asking for extra candies in my milkshakes and the candies are still almost non-existent! Every-single-time! It's just not worth the wait for a "vanilla" milkshake or the cost. I would rather go to the gas station across the street and get a pint of bluebell ice cream. read more
