Our kitchen-less venue was not a problem for SoCo Catering. Their food trucks looked great at our venue and added to their professionalism.

We booked Sonoma County Catering for our wedding. Our venue was a family ranch in which no real kitchen was available for our caterers. I have to begin by saying that Heather (with whom we were in most contact) was amazing. She was easily reachable, quickly responsive, and answered the many questions I had about eveerryything. She helped us figure out exactly what is was that we wanted for our big day. From the style of catering, the counts of all rentals, the number of servers, how to distribute wine, to literary what coffee mugs we wanted. She also ensured that our contract remained up-to-date and transparent on all the pricing. A total professional. Fernando was who we spoke to during our venue walk-through and who handled everything on our big day, I imagine he was the head chef. He and his family were so incredibly kind not only to us but also to take-downall of our families and guests as he walked around our guest tables ensuring they weren't missing anything and their thoughts on the food. Throughout the night he was attentive to our needs as the bride and groom, but also made sure all of our other vendors got their hot meals while the rest of our guests ate, made sure our timeline ran smoothly (as his servers distributed the champagne, brought out the desserts, set up our cake, ect.) AND his entire team was essential to our setup and take down process. I cannot say enough about Fernando and his team. Not to mention the food itself! Many many guests came to us to compliment our catering choice. From the appetizers passed during cocktail hour all the way down to the desserts set up beautifully at a designed dessert table along with our cake (made by someone else) and coffee/tea station. 10/10! In our opinion, Sonoma County Catering gets a 5-star rating for their food and service independently.

Spicy Spaghetti with meatball, corn succotash, anti pasta salad, Caesar salad, pork loin, pesto tortellini, and focaccia bread.

I had the pleasure of attending tasting food from Sonoma County Catering while attending a taping of a Food Network Show. We met Caesar and his staff who were extremely friendly and helpful. It was recommend that we try a little bit of everything. I was given a nicely plated spicy spaghetti with meatball, corn succotash, anti pasta salad, Caesar salad, pork loin, pesto tortellini, and focaccia bread. The spicy spaghetti had just the right amount of spice to elevate a very traditional dish. The meat ball was huge, cooked perfectly, moist, and seasoned to perfection. The corn succotash was refreshing and very tasty. The richness of the dish was balanced by the anti-pasta and Caesar salad which was full of local fresh produce. The pork loin was tender, moist, and paired with a pear gravy. The pesto tortellini wasn't over powered with pesto and tossed in a light Alfredo sauce which was great to dip the artichoke focaccia bread. Overall some of the best catering food I've ever had out of a mobile kitchen.

Sonoma County Catering Set up the tables and decorations. They provided all the silverware, glasses, and linens.

Sonoma County Catering blew me away every step of the way. My husband and I had to reschedule our wedding 3 times and change locations due to COVID so we were hunting for a catering company for a Saturday summer wedding 3 months before the wedding day, therefore our options were very limited as most companies were booked up. Although Sonoma County Catering was pretty much our only option, we lucked out they were available! The food was INCREDIBLE. I've gone to many weddings and the food was 'ok' here, Cesar really makes the food shine. I got so many compliments from all my guests! Not only was the food good, but the service was excellent and truly professional. They provided all the rentals which was great since it makes it a bit more affordable and you have to deal with fewer vendors. Since there were not many reviews and photos online I was slightly concerned about how elegant the reception would look, however, the event looked very put together and they really paid attention to small details. They had nice crates and platters to serve appetizers. They took the box of decorations I provided and displayed them beautifully. I was also really impressed how I only had to mention things once (like we had to move tables and chairs 2x due to the small space ) and even though the event managers changed (worked with Heather to do the initial planning, met with Cesar and Jodi for an initial walkthrough, Fernando handled the reception to closing), everything happened without a hitch. Some words of advice, if your family eats a lot, consider buying some extra meals. We were a wedding of 50 people and bought 5 extra meals and we were so glad we did. Only 2 items ended up running out by the end of the night but people were able to get seconds and were really satisfied. We even got to keep the leftovers which was amazing! If I ever hire a catering company again, hands down will choose them. Photo credits go to: www.laurenfeddersenphotography.com

Matt and Patrick were extremely friendly and the food was to die for! We celebrated our microwedding in Mill Valley and I have always selected new restaurants based on yelps top reviewed restaurants. I figured this would be the best way to go to select a catering option for an area we're not local to or able to try before in person. The reviews did not steer us wrong. We would love to book again after experiencing the food and stellar service. Appetizers: We ordered the heirloom tomato bruschetta which was one of my favorites! The tomatoes were fresh and every bite was memorable! The goat cheese croquettes were to die for and the braised pork shoulder had everyone coming back for more! Dinner: I'm not a huge kale person but we had an amazing kale Caesar salad that had me hoping I could recreate it at home. I honestly don't think there was any left over! It was accompanied by the grilled antipasto platter which complemented the lasagna dinner we had perfectly! The vegetables were cooked and seasoned to perfection! We had the classic bolognese lasagna and red wine braised boneless beef short ribs for our dinner option which were gone in the blink of an eye. Dessert: To top it off, we finished with the mini amaretto panna cotta and blackberry coulis. They were as delicious as they were aesthetically appealing!

Think twice (or more) and don't do it!…read more A group of four couples (hailing from Michigan to New Mexico) were flying into Napa for a long-planned get-together. We rented a home through VRBO and thought it would be a treat to have a catered meal from Epicurean Escape. The price was over $1000 but seemed well worth it and we paid the bill 10 days prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, if not unbelievably, we were alerted by VRBO the very next day that our contract was being cancelled as the rental house had just been purchased by a new owner. Thinking we might have to cancel the trip as VRBO might not have an alternative (they did not), we immediately contacted the caterer that we would have to cancel plans. This was 9 days prior to the planned dinner. The caterer then informed us that this was beyond their normal 10 day cancellation policy and there was nothing they could do other than a (hold your breath) 25% refund!! provide a 'credit' - a great idea for a group of 8 with most of us living thousands of miles away, or assisting us in relocating to a new venue. We eventually located a hotel where we could stay and proceeded with the trip - still very much disappointed with the caterer for not refunding our money with 9 days prior notice (along with forwarding them the note of cancellation from VRBO). With a $150 delivery fee charged by the caterer for delivery to our hotel, and no way for us to warm the food in our rooms, we anticipated the meal would arrive on serving trays with sterno heaters. But of course not.. The server who delivered the food was very nice and accommodating (we tipped them as well even though the paid contract already included an 18% gratuity fee). We began eating immediately, only to find all the food (fish and beef main courses) at room temperature. Perhaps everything would have tasted better had it been heated, but classifying the meal as 'mediocre' would be overly kind. Making matters worse (if that's possible), we have been promised a 'final' contract as three of the planned attendees could not attend, and the caterer agreed to 'adjust', only to never hear back from them almost 2 weeks later. Inflexible policy + less than thrilling meals = at least in my book, an experience worth avoiding at all costs. Caveat emptor.

From the introductory call to the tasting to services on the day-of, Tim was just a joy to talk to and work with. He is possibly one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Accommodating, warm, generous, honest, and easygoing. He loves what he does and is passionate about making his customers happy; it really shows in the care that he puts into his food. And unlike other vendors for our wedding weekend who made me eventually feel like just another income-generating number -- with Tim, first and foremost, he always treated me and my family as people who deserved his attention and care. It showed in his responsiveness and in his flawless execution of planning, set up, and service on the day-of. I didn't need to worry about a thing. This is truly saying a lot because, as someone who negotiates contracts and runs transactions for a living, I'm probably one of the most detail-oriented, most-organized persons you'll ever meet. The food itself is just delicious. Guests were raving at how yummy his St. Louis ribs were. And let me tell you about his sauces. He gave me and my husband two bottles after our tasting, and I rationed those for almost an entire year so that I could always have a splash or two handy whenever I needed it. There really should be more caterers like Tim, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for letting me and my husband express through him our love and care for our friends and family.
