If you're looking for something to do in Sonoma, other than visit wineries, the Sonoma Food Tour is where it's at! I have visited family in Sonoma for 20+ years, but I learned more about Sonoma and dining options around Sonoma Square on Mia's tour than I ever knew before. We tried cheeses, sausages, Mexican food, olive oil, balsamic vinegars, chocolate, and more as we visited various businesses around and near the Square. Plus, we got a history lesson along the way too! My friends and I had planned to go on this tour in 2020, but Covid shut everything down. I am so happy that the tour is back up and running, so be sure to book your spots now before it fills up. FYI- Covid protocols are in place on this tour, so bring a mask. I would highly recommend this tour if you're a first-time, or even a regular visitor, to the area. As someone who doesn't drink, don't let that stop you! I was pleased to be offered other tasty beverage options on the tour too. Mia is a fantastic guide who is full of pep, knowledge, and great insight into things to taste and see in Sonoma. An entertaining and informational way to spend a few hours in Sonoma -even for someone who had been to the square countless times. Their team does a great job bringing people together over a variety of stories and snacks of the sweet and savory kind. Lots of wine, cheese, and chocolate. Also - could Abby be MORE FUN?! Good attempt compared to more urban food tours but falls short. Start off with Italian pizza with simple ingredients. Served with a red and white wine. Then you go to a great addition on cheese samples and it's history. Next you get a full on Mexican meal with a margarita. Said this was their staple meal. Nothing special and it was a margarita. Nothing special. Then off to taste olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I counted 10 samples....way too much, my palate was broken. Finally a nice touch in savory chocolate store. I looked on the map to see if other restaurants would be good to try but they were just average restaurants. To charge three times San Fransisco charges foe the above because you got two glasses of wine and a margarita is just robbery. Out of ten food tours taken this was by far the poorest. read more

Mia was wonderful! The food tour was amazing. Not too long, not too short, and just the right balance between history and food. We had a fantastic time. My highlight was the cheese shop! The Sonoma Food/Wine Tour, was truly an amazing part of our vacation. Our Guide, Mia, made our first time to Sonoma a real treat. As she is a Sonoma native, she was able to guide us around the town and give amazing suggestions for where to eat, shop, and vineyards to visit. We went back two other times to Sonoma our vacation week and ate at all the places Mia suggested. Throughout the tour, we were given pieces of history of the town, had a few wine tastings, visited an oil/vinegar shop, went to an amazing chocolatier, sampled foods from a few local restaurants and had two little picnics with Mia where we sampled various cheeses, strawberries and locally made cheeses. This is an exceptional walking tour! The Sonoma Plaza is so beautiful and it was great to taste some local food and wine while learning about the history of the town. The "head foodie", Mia, really knows her stuff! We stopped at some fantastic restaurants and shops, all of which I will definitely visit again. Some of them I probably would have missed if I wasn't given the inside scoop from a local! All of the tastings were very good and plentiful. I even joined a wine club along the way! My wife and I went on the tour this past weekend with some friends from LA. We all had a great time getting to eat and drink our way through Sonoma! Our guide, Mia (a Sonoma local), was considerate of my diet restrictions and provided me with some local jerky when we stopped at the cheese shop. The other reviews pretty much cover everything, but this was a great way to spend our first day in Sonoma. I have a few dietary restrictions that I try to not make a big deal about, and Mia made sure accommodations were made without me feeling like I was being a pain in the neck. It was so nice to enjoy food without worrying if it was going to make me sick. My husband was skeptical but he had a great time too. I learned so much, and we were treated like the special guests of our tour guide. She took pictures for all of us and will be emailing them to us. Just spent an amazing time with Mia on the Food walking tour. Pouring rain could not dampen the great time we had. Mia does the perfect job of blending the interesting history of Sonoma with great foodie stops. We loved the local spots that we never would have found on our own. The Sonoma Food Tour was a delightful way to learn some of the history of Sonoma, visit local purveyors and taste their delicious products. Mia, owner and guide, was relaxed and knowledgeable. The Depot Hotel treated us to pizza - with handcrafted dough and estate grown veggies, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot. We enjoyed Vella Cheese in the Square, and a sampling of the Sunflower Cafe's signature duck sandwich. The group tasted some of the most delicious olive oils and balsamic vinegars at Figone's Olive Oil. We walked over to Enoteca and Della Sandinas, sat at the Wine Bar, and were served Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir well paired with some family style Italian dishes - one of the most flavorful pasta dishes I have had. Mia was very accommodating and arranged a private tour that was baby friendly for our party of 4 adults and 2 kids. We went LA Casa for avocado relleno, had a Vela cheese picnic in the plaza, sampled olive oils and balsamic vinegar at Figone's, had wine and pasta pairings at Enoteca (forgot the attached restaurants name). This was my first food tour. Mia was amazing with her knowledge on the town and its history. You could tell she has a passion for what she does, always a smile on her face. As we toured 6 different places along the way cars were beeping and waving hi to her. Not only was the food amazing, the olive oil and vinager was also very tasty.
