I have gone to Sonora for Self Regulation Therapy (SRT), a very powerful technique for dealing with trauma, pain and many other issues of the mind and body. Sonora is an extraordinary practitioner of SRT: a kind, sensitive and wise person with the skills of a psychotherapist in addition to her mind-body practices. I first went to Sonora for an RSI/carpal tunnel syndrome condition that I had been struggling with for more than 6 months through doctors, massage therapy, acupuncture reiki, and everything else I could think of. After 1-2 sessions of SRT work, incredibly, the pain went away completely. Completely! Since then I've continued to see her as I would a normal therapist, bringing all kinds of life issues to her: SRT's involvement with the body means that she can work with my issues by going in directions that talk therapy just can't. Basically, I can't recommend Sonora highly enough and I imagine that people dealing with a very wide range of physical and mental issues could benefit from working with her. read more

I wholeheartedly agree with the previous reviewer. Sonora is an amazing lady! I worked with her this past semester at Lesley University. She was in her last year of getting her master's degree in counseling psychology, and I was a senior in undergrad, also a counseling major. I was dealing with many overwhelming issues, including figuring out where I wanted to live after graduation, depression and anxiety. Sonora was a wonderful guide and resource during this time. She was an amazing listener, giving me a chance to get everything I needed to out, but also challenging me gently when needed. I apreciate her warm relational style, and focus on the body mind connection. I don't think I could have gotten through the semester without her help. I would recommend her to anyone dealing with the issues I have mentioned. In adition, I would recommend her to anyone with a disability. I am totally blind and this plays a part in my issues as you can imagine. Sonora skillfully handled this and wasn't afraid to ask questions and explore what this means to me.
