You didn't take my concerns or need for a pain free stay after my stroke and severe back pain…read moreseriously while I a patient there so why would you respond to my needs after? Every-time I asked to speak to the doctor or for help I was turned down. Patients have the right to be free of pain or have less pain as well as be treated with compassion. I am still impacted negatively from my treatment received at your facility. I hope you have done some improvements since my hellish stay. The one nurse who told me I quote " if you keep crying I won't come back into your room" should have been fired for her lack of compassion. I hope your staff takes a urine bag connected to my bladder being stepped on and left on the floor without cleaning seriously two years later. My stay there made me feel as though I would die and hence the reason I requested to transfer.

Whatever you do do not take your loved ones to this place!!! they will end up being sicker and more…read morehurt than when they came in. I actually asked if Covid has affected the amount of employees they had and they said no they're fully staffed so don't let them tell you that's their excuse. They literally don't know what they're doing, my father-in-law is worse off now than when he first came in and they don't care. Every day they keep making the exact same mistakes. They had him in the same diaper for two days, they didn't move him from his bed for 3 1/2 days, he has a fractured spine and they have yet to put his brace on before moving him, the lists goes on and on and on and on and on. have reported them to the health department they will be doing an investigation in the next 48 hours again, I cannot emphasize this enough, do not bring your loved ones or yourself to this place.

I broke my finger playing flag football…read more Yea, I know...what? As gluttonous as I may be, I do try to get out there and put my body to work so I can glutton more (and write subsequent Yelp reviews). So I broke my middle finger trying to catch a football during a flag football game...blah blah blah, I didn't think it was broken so I played more (and, yes I am proud to say, got a critical 4th down flag with the hand with the broken finger!). This (as well as yanking on it) probably dislodged a bone in my joint. 24 hours later, I was in the ER getting my ring sawed off my purple finger & being told that I most likely need surgery. JAM. So unfortunate. I walked out of there with x-rays in one hand (remember to ask for it so that you don't have to go back!) & the other (defunct) one in a foam block that looked like a blue LEGO. 1 frightening refusal by a plastic surgeon, 1 acceptance by another plastic surgeon, finger surgery at Brackenridge, & weeks with a increasingly smelly cast later, I found myself at rehab twice a week for 2 months. yay..... I've only had 1 occupational therapist but Christie is THE BEST EVER. She (while making me hurt so bad I silently wept - you think Vicodin will help? It won't) was able to turn a finger that seemed forever locked into this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alovelychristmascarol/3291068569/in/set-72157614045553177/ into this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alovelychristmascarol/3363799511/in/set-72157614045553177/ (and that was just the finger at 7 weeks...my finger is even straighter now). Psst - the whole set is here but you may need a Flickr account to see the rest...some pics are kinda gross (stitches etc): http://www.flickr.com/photos/alovelychristmascarol/sets/72157614045553177/ My finger is now 97% back to normal. I have scars from the surgery but I can almost bend and straighten like I could before. I think if Christie wasn't there to push me and make sure I did my "HW", my finger would be pretty janky looking now. But thankgoodness, my finger looks amazing for what it's been through and I can do a lot of the things I took for granted (i.e. clipping my nails with my left hand, buttoning my jeans, twisting open pens, holding bags of groceries, do pushup(s)). I hope everyone needing hand therapy goes to see Christie (she was "assigned" by my plastic surgeon - his review coming up).

I was never pushed past a reasonable point, and I was even allowed to re-arrange certain exercises in the routine if I needed to. Kelsey + Micah were my treatment team, and they did a fantastic job! Micah in particular listened well and gave a thoughtful answer to every question I threw at her. Everyone is really encouraging! The front desk staff and all the techs are also really nice. The techs scurry around making sure everyone is on track with their routine; they also constantly keep the place wiped down and clean. I really liked the environment at this location, too. The music is motivating instead of annoying, and not too loud. All the patients came from diverse age ranges, backgrounds, and abilities -- so I felt like everyone was made to feel welcome. Note: Give yourself a few extra minutes to find the place. The entrance is off of West. (That is not where Google Maps had taken me...)
