I have been going to Dr.Vinton for a number of years and would give him and his practice more than 5 stars if I could! Very nice facility and very little wait time. But the people who work there are what makes this practice the BEST in Midlothian. Shout outs to Candace at the front desk for being so personable and helpful; Haleigh for being a top notch hygienist with the sweetest personality (I have a hard time having to stop chatting when she is cleaning my teeth!); and Dr. Vinton is marvelous. He's smart, easy to talk to, and has done amazing work on the dental issues I've had. Also, I feel he is super trustworthy. I know he's going to be honest and not charge me for treatments I don't need. I don't have dental insurance, and I feel the prices for dental work are very fair and reasonable. Who likes going to the dentist? Almost no one....BUT my entire family has been going to Dr. V for 6 years and we are moving to another city, but will NOT switch dentists! You will enjoy your time with Dr. V and his entire team - they are top notch! They are friendly and fast and Dr. V is one of the BEST! Dr. V is Highly knowledgeable in his field and beyond. He takes his time to explain things and treats everyone with respect. I am almost 60 and I have gone to only 3 dentists in my life (every 6 months my entire life) and I will not go to another dentist as long as Dr. V will take me as a patient. I went to Soothing Dental for the first time Nov 30th. It was a fantastic experience from the moment I checked in. Everyone I dealt with was extremely personable and excellent at their jobs. Dr. Vinton spent a lot of time with me going over my x-rays and exam results. He is a top notch guy and I have found my permanent Dentist. Our family loves Soothing Dental. We found them years ago because they were local and were covered by our insurance. Unfortunately our insurance company changed providers and they were no longer covered and we had to find a dentist in our network. My husband was not thrilled with the new dentist we found and so we didn't go back to them. With a new job within the past 6 months we desperately needed dental cleanings for our family, the first thing my husband said was, "Check to see if Soothing Dental is in network!" When I searched for Soothing Dental and found Dr.Vinton we gave each other a high five! We were excited to know that we could go back to a great dentist. This place will make you want to go to the dentist. I have never been so comfortable in getting my teeth cleaned getting X-rays! You are greeted by the receptionist who is so sweet and friendly. I'm not stopping with the amazing staff. Just wait till you meet Dr. Vinton. He goes by John he is amazing and is very realistic about treatment planning! The dental office has state of the art dental equipment that is catered to the patient needs. As I was getting my x rays the gal hand a hand held camera like wow!!! So it was like minutes. Then there was another hand held camera that took clear pictures of my teeth! I have never seen such clarity as to how my teeth looked. I was given a teeth Whitener start up... who does that!!! They care about the client that they give free whitening start up kits! They also have texting appointment reminders as well as phone call reminders which is very convenient. I can't wait to go back! We started using this facility when we moved to Midlothian. I loved the doctor and he was good with giving shots. The last few years the staff have been rude, unorganized, and unprofessional. One example is the expectation for the patient to pay out of pocket for a teeth cleaning offered free by my insurance because they have one person trained to do insurance verification. I requested a call from the doctor with no call back. Appointment dates were always far out and they claimed it was because Midlothian did not have enough dental offices. Customer service and professionalism is important to me when I pick the place I use for any medical treatment. Disappointed for sure. read more

I love my dentist! Dr. Vinton and everyone at Soothing Dental are awesome. I have had a pleasant experience every time I've been there. Cleanings are quick and easy. I recently had to call to get a filling replaced and got in the same day. Unfortunately I have to get a crown soon. They make them on site, so I won't have to deal with a temporary crown and an extra visit. I was even happily surprised by the cost estimate. read more

John Vinton is NOT the man to simply do your 6 month cleaning or even fill a cavity. The name of this business is called "Soothing Dental," however our experience here on 8/4/2020 was anything but "soothing." My 14 year old sister was scheduled to get 4 cavities filled and came out of the building Bawling with 0 cavities filled. In fact within the 35 minutes that she was in the building the only thing that was completed was the application of numbing gel. In which wasn't even done by Vinton. My sister was inside the room alone as with COVID only one person is allowed in. Vinton came in to the room and cut any small talk with my sister. As he sat down and started to examine her mouth before he started, her hand slightly went up as she got freighted, didn't even touch him. Yet, Vinton jumped up left the room and said, "I'm not doing this." Let me remind you this is a 14 year old, and he didn't even attempt to calm her or even take a second to say, "Are you okay?" So, as she came out bawling, I (the 18 year old sister who brought her to the appointment) felt the need to go in and speak with the dentist. So I went in and asked the front desk lady to speak with him, and she went and told him and he told her, "I'm not speaking with her, I will only speak to the mom." I am even a patient there who went in last week, but regardless even if I wasn't I feel that the dentist should have talked to the adult of the 14 year old patient he just sent to the Parking lot bawling over how she was treated by this dentist. Never thought I would be writing a yelp review, but felt this was necessary after our experience today. We had 4 people in our house who were patients at this dentist office and have now moved all of our business to Brian Clark's Dentistry. read more

Best dental appointment! Their name, Soothing Dental, is definitely fitting for the experience I had even as a new patient. Dr. Vinton has the latest technology which was the most comfortable in the way they retrieved pictures and X-rays of my teeth. Also, the tool the dentist used to clean my teeth and how it was done allowed it to be more comfortable than any cleaning I can remember. In the past, I never looked forward to the part of a dental appointment when the hygienist flossed my teeth, usually uncomfortably. Additionally, I found this dentist and his staff to be some of the most kind, caring and courteous people around! Update: Recently, I visited Soothing Dental for my 6 month follow-up and cleaning and had another great experience.
