When we first moved to Texas they were not only convenient, but they quickly proved themselves to be both incredibly professional and reliable. I know that many feel uncomfortable and even dread their bi-yearly dentist visits, but I have never experienced this with Modrall Dentistry. In fact, this practice is located in Mansfield, and I live in Houston (and have for over 10 years). Twice a year I make my way back to Mansfield to use their dental services, because frankly, I don't trust anyone else. Beyond the skills and professional nature you'll find at Modrall Dentistry, the staff is some of the most kind and welcoming I have ever experienced. When I visit their office, it feels like seeing old friends, which is an amazing touch. The location is convenient. There is plenty of parking. The waiting room is nice and welcoming. The interior well lit and immaculate. There is plenty of state of the art dental equipment, but nothing that looks frightening or outdated. For what could be an unpleasant experience (visiting the dentist office) they make it comfortable and pleasant. A few examples of how they've gone above and beyond for me: - Several months ago I needed some dental work, and I had to travel to Mansfield to get it done, but the morning of the assistant had a family emergency, and knowing that I cam all the way Dr. Modrall asked if I wanted her to perform the procedure solo (not typical). She walked me through what that would look like, reassured me, but left the decision completely in my hand. I had her do the procedure, and she was an absolute pro. - Recently, I mixed up my dates, and I missed an appointment. They had a game plan to try to squeeze me in, and this was during the holidays. They had me in and out in no time - As I mentioned, I have been going here for decades, and they have identified areas of concern (potential risks, caveties, dark spots, etc), but I have never technically had a cavity/filling. They have been telling me about any progression or updates on those areas, but they've never said "you need to get it filled." They aren't here just to take your money or to do unnecessary work. They know exactly what they're doing and they provide insight. This is one of the main reasons I trust them I can't rave enough about their professionalism and bedside manner. I will continue to go to this dentist office as long as I can, and I would recomment you do as well. Dr. Modrall is amazing, and Shawna R. is an incredible Dental Hygienist (if you can request). In my adult years I got braces and later crowns to make my teeth more presettable. At age 45 I got throat cancer. The treatment required radiation and again my teeth took a beating. After having several other dentists work on my bite and general appearance I found doctor Le. Over several weeks she crowned all of my lower teeth. I already LOVE the appearance but more importantly I can chew my food properly. We will start on my upper teeth next month. Dr Le and her assistant Michelle made an unpleasant process worth all the pain and discomfort. Her front office staff specifically Jocelyn always greeted me with a pleasant good morning. The last visit that I was here there was a young new dentist who tweaked my treatment plan to her liking, even shaving my teeth and adjusting some other things. Today I came in and there's new staff here. I happened to just ask what my current balance is (knowing it was $150) this lady tells me $450 and demands that it's paid now. I explained that what I show is different based on a ledger was sent to me in May. She then said I can show you a ledger and I said I can show you one as well....she goes to speak with the insurance/billing person and comes back and said you're correct, you don't owe anything today, I replied I know, she batted her eyes and said I'm just letting you know. I responded and I was letting you know as well upfront that I didn't owe anything this entire interaction was pointless. -sidebar.....as I sit in the chair the staff is in the X-ray room playing Rock Paper Scissors. My appointment was at 8:30. I've been here since 8:10, the new dentist has come to the reception area to make coffee lol and I'm sitting here smh. Now I'm in a chair, mind you I was the first person here. 4 more patients are called back and immediately worked on (by the techs and the dentist goes to the chair next to me and greets the patient) I get up, go to the front to let them know that I was the first person here for an 8:30 appointment and I'm not going to sit here and allow others to be treated before me. The dentist stops in his steps from starting on the patient and comes over, greets me and says so you're getting started on Invisalign today......no sir I've been wearing Invisalign for over a year!!! So then he looks at my chart and the notes from the previous visit and I can tell he was trying to make the best of the situation but at this point I was very unhappy. Fast forward to today. 7/26 (this review was started over a week ago). My son had an appointment scheduled for last week. On Sunday night they text us and said all appointments for the following day have been canceled. So on Monday I told my son (18 year old) to call to reschedule. He called and they rescheduled him for mid August......no, that's not going to work because he's moving to NYC in August for college. I asked them to reschedule him for something sooner. Which puts us to today. It's now 1:21 and my son has been waiting to be seen for his 12:00 appointment. So at 12:30 I told him to ask how much longer it would be. After he asked they seated him in a chair. At this time, he's still waiting to be seen....which all he needed to do was pick up his darn trays. At this point I'm ready to speak with management or corporate. So if you're reading this please call me. We pay out of pocket for both treatment plans and expect better services than this. If we wanted to feel like we were at The county clinic or any other Medicaid office we would have taken our business there. Excuse any typos but at this point I'm very upset and I'm sure you get the gist of my message.

I rarely write reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel obligated to share…read more I actually walked out before receiving any treatment, which I have never done before. I chose this office because it's closer than my usual dentist and had great reviews. But after my experience, I seriously question how those reviews are being generated. The office is noticeably dingy, dust on surfaces, worn furniture, stained x-ray aprons, etc. The standing X-ray machine wasn't working, and after a few attempts and a computer restart, they just skipped it entirely. While I was waiting in the room I started noticing more off putting details, some bugs on the floor, dirt around a drooping plant, and what looked like damage in the wall with some sort of debris and a few bugs on it. At this point I was already questioning if I wanted to stay but it was the interaction with the dentist, Dr. Miller, that ultimately made me leave. He came in, and spoke to me from behind while looking at a computer screen. I had mentioned on the form that I sometimes had an issue with dry mouth and he asked if I wanted a "paste." When I asked what it was, he gave vague, non-answers like "something to help dry mouth." I had to ask multiple times before he vaguely mentioned fluoride and "other things." At that point, I stopped the appointment and said I wasn't comfortable continuing. Two things really bothered me about this interaction: 1. Either he didn't clearly know what he was recommending, which is concerning. 2. Or he chose not to explain it properly, which is equally concerning. Patients have a right to understand what is being recommended or prescribed to them. After I said I was leaving, the dentist immediately exited without another word. No explanation, no attempt to address concerns, nothing. The staff member did apologize, which I appreciated, but I will not be returning.

Walking into the building the decor is eye catching and it just gives you that home feeling. Dr. Carr is very thorough and takes the time to educate you instead of rushing through your appointment. I left feeling like she actually cares about my dental health and overall health. A breakdown of all the services was provided and she allowed me time to decide what I wanted to do. I will forever be a patient of hers from now on. The location is very clean and they even have charges if your battery is running low. Last but not least the reminder text I received for my appointment truly made me feel special. It's all in the details and Dr. Carr has it figured out.
