He explained the process well before he did anything and then also explained while doing it and asked multiple times if my wife was comfortable and handling it well. His practice is relatively new, but provides the experience of a seasoned professional. He also is full family friendly, his practice had a space for kids and books and allows you to bring your kids in if you want to, which I find refreshing in a culture where kids are seen as barriers to care a lot of the time.
