I used to love Dina. I've been going to her since 2010. Back then, you'd be able to walk in and get…read moreyour taxes done. As the years have gone by, she's grown through word of mouth and for the last few years you had to wait outside for hours just to get in and then sit for hours more on top of that waiting for your number to be called. It's not unusual to get there at 6am and leave at 3pm. About a year or two ago she implemented a new rule that you had to be one of the first 25 in line. So if you get all the way there at 6am and there are already 25 people in line, you're SOL. This happened to me once. At this point, I should've stopped coming. But she always got me an amazing return so I continued. Last year, she told me she was going to submit my return. For a month and a half I didn't receive anything so I checked with the IRS and they had NO RECORD OF MY TAXES. I text Dina asking about it. No response. 2 weeks later I check in again to which she simply responds, "Will be back on Monday." Monday comes and goes. No response. I check in again. I'm pregnant and due any day and at this point just want some kind of resolution. Plus I'd received another letter from the IRS. Dina doesn't respond. 4 days later I check in AGAIN. She doesn't respond for days. At this point I'm in the hospital because I had my baby, which I warned her was about to happen. In September, I had a question about how to change my taxes since I had a baby to which she answers immediately and cordially. I was considering going to someone new but after she was nice, decided to let it go. WRONG DECISION. It's tax time again and I called to see if I could make an appointment instead of wait in line because there's no way I can bring my 7 month old all the way downtown at 5am and wait for hours. I was told they have appointments now. Yay! So I confirm for March 21st. I should've known things would go wrong when I asked if it was for 10:30 and the response was "thank you." Um, ok. The next day I heard there was going to be a bad snowstorm so I text asking if they'd be open. No response. I try calling. No answer. The day of my appointment I text again. No response. I call and call. No one answers. I didn't want to risk losing out on my appointment so I rush to drop my daughter at daycare and go all the way down in the storm. I get to the office and it's dark with a closed sign on the door. I text that I'm there. I explain I took the day off of work and need to know if she is coming. No one ever answers me. I wait at a coffee shop just in case. Silence. TL;DR: Don't go here. Dina doesn't care about her customers.

Instead, we have experienced multiple amended returns across several tax years, repeated discrepancies between the figures submitted and those determined by the IRS and New York State, and a continual stream of notices demanding additional payments. The financial impact has been significant, but the ongoing stress has been even worse. Every time we believed a tax year had finally been resolved, another notice arrived with different figures and further amounts to pay. It has been extremely difficult to have confidence that our returns were prepared correctly. Mistakes can happen, but what matters is resolving them quickly and giving clients certainty. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. After more than two years, we are still trying to establish what our correct tax liabilities actually are.
