BEWARE! DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!! If there was a minus "0" star choice, that's what…read moreMont Marie would get. All the reviews on their website are from the Administration to make them look good. The residents' care is taken care of when they are good and ready. The staff should be ashamed of the disgusting work they do. His urine bottle sits right next to his food tray all day, every day. It just sits there all day and is only emptied when I or an administrator tells them to. When my husband needs to use the bathroom, he rings his button for assistance or does anything that needs attention; be prepared to wait and then wait some more. What I find the most offensive is that I (his wife) must tell them his care requirements. A perfect example is that Mont Marie nurses, CNAs, and Aides will put him in a wheelchair with NO leg raises or footrests and leave him there most of the day. I had to tell them that his swollen legs needed to be raised. When in bed, I had to ask them to put a pillow under his feet and raise the bed's foot end, finding out that the bed doesn't raise at the foot. WHY AREN'T THEY DOING THIS WITHOUT ME HAVING TO TELL THEM? The food is disgusting and always cold. An example of breakfast is two 1/2 pieces of cold, dry toast, cold oatmeal with nothing added, 2 Tablespoons of instant eggs, and cold coffee with one creamer. They should be ashamed of themselves to serve this to the residents. Their food tray is whisked away with nothing else until the next meal. Bring your own snacks and food to serve your loved ones because nothing will be given to them until the following meal or day. They do give my husband a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on occasion; however, he has diabetes and is not supposed to have sugar. Mont Marie has not showered my husband or brushed his teeth in the 22 days of his stay. He has been sick since he arrived on Christmas Day. COVID, Norovirus/Vomiting, Diarrhea, with his legs swelling three sizes before he was sent there. Physical Therapy was non-existent until I demanded he get it. If my husband said he was tired, that was it. They brought him back to his room. Some of the staff acted appropriately, but there were the nurses I had to interact more with so appropriate nursing could occur. One particular nurse was insulting when I had and asked questions. It would take too long to explain what happened on December 29, 2024, when my husband needed a VA doctor's appointment. It's a day I want to erase from my mind. Sadly, it is seared into my brain presently. This review is only some of the examples of the horrible care my husband is receiving. I would need a book to explain everything. There was one nurse who worked in the physical therapy room. He is worth his weight in gold. His name is Gary, a retired veteran who helped me on December 29, 2024, with getting my husband into the car so he could get to the VA appointment. Even though it wasn't on his scheduled day, he did help and got him into the car on an icy, windy, windy day. There was NO SANDING OF THE SIDEWALKS. If it weren't for him, I would have never been able to take him to the VA appointment. When the Nuns of Mont Marie were in charge, Mont Marie had an excellent reputation. The building is now on their third owners who are letting the property go to ruins. It took two weeks to get the broken window in his room repaired during December 2024, with a temperature of 22 degrees and a wind chill of 12 degrees. UNACCEPTABLE! The building is now on its third owner, who is letting the property go to ruins.

Stay far away if you want your family members to live. It…read morehas been in receivership for 1 1/2-2 years. Management is very rude. Lack state minimum staffing requirements. Pts are not toileted or changed every 2 hours. Pts don't have identification bands or Code Status bands on which can cause pts to get wrong meds or to be resuscitated when they are a dnr. Mechanicals are unreliable Hot water goes out frequently so there is not any hot water to bathe pts. There is much more I could say but I would be here a long time. My advice please research facilities prior to placing a loved one in any facility. Tour the facilities at different times & days.

My time at Bear Mountain was short but eye-opening. I was hired as a Scheduler with a clear goal:…read morereduce agency dependency by recruiting reliable, long-term staff. In under three months, I recruited over 13 qualified CNAs, LPNs, and RNs--none of which was acknowledged. Credit was instead claimed by the overnight supervisor, who frequently slept during her shifts, verbally mistreated staff (especially agency), and held disproportionate influence with leadership. The facility culture is toxic from the top down. The Director of Nursing regularly made racially inappropriate comments in the hallways, and spent much of her time smoking outside or gossiping loudly in her office about staff, residents, and their families. Her behavior set a tone of favoritism, disrespect, and unprofessionalism. The facility itself is run-down, with dark, outdated hallways and an unbearable odor from the kitchen that affects multiple units. The kitchen staff appeared visibly impaired on multiple occasions, and there were several terminations related to substance use. Patient meals lack variety or nutritional rotation, and overall cleanliness and oversight are lacking. Staff who truly care about residents are overworked and undervalued. Meanwhile, those who underperform or demonstrate inappropriate behavior face little to no accountability. HR seemed unaware of basic staffing laws and policies in Massachusetts--I personally had to correct multiple legal and procedural oversights. After raising concerns about unprofessional conduct, I was retaliated against. My access to scheduling systems was revoked without explanation, and I was later informed I was under investigation--despite never being interviewed or asked to provide a statement. Meanwhile, the person I reported continued working. Documentation in my personnel file was false and misleading, and my private credentials were run without consent after termination. This facility's practices reflect a deep failure in leadership, compliance, and resident care. Staff and residents deserve better.

I had a different nurse each time so there was zero consistency, and also they would never give the courtesy of notice before coming. I would get no more than a half hours notice each time, and I had to initiate the phone calls to get even that half hours notice. The last straw that made me cancel services was an extremely rude nurse named Percilla, who came in to fill out my medication again after a half hours notice. I made casual talk with her at first. It was when she was putting meds in my box that I casually mentioned about my klonopin that I usually ended up having a few left over (meaning I don't end up needing all of them) and she snapped "I'm not going to give you more than you are prescribed" basically hearing only half and the complete opposite of what I said which was that I didn't need MORE. I needed LESS. I said "That's the assumption then isn't it?" Because she basically accused me of asking for extra meds when that isn't the case at all. And she said "Are you being serious?" and then she went off on a tirade about how she is not my usual nurse and is doing me a favor by coming. (by doing her job?) Also, I wouldn't know I had a "usual" nurse, because I had a different nurse EVERY time one came. No consistency with times, days, notice of arrival, and rude judgemental nurses with ZERO bedside manner.
