Normally wouldn't leave a bad review over a haircut but this was a complete shit show: Barber cut off well over an inch up top after I said I only wanted a half inch trim. He barely cut my sides even, though I showed him a photo of the burst skin fade I wanted and specifically said to use scissors, so now I had a weird bob look with my side and top almost being the same length. Had to stop him and say because he cut it too short I'd prefer he just do a mid skin fade to salvage it, he says he'll take care of it but then just uses the clippers to shave it down, not even doing what I asked for a second time. I pulled my phone out and looked up photos of what I was talking about but he just ignored me. Finished up and noticed he didn't even cut both sides evenly. I tried to show him, using my fingers to hold up my hair length so he can see how obviously the lengths were different, but he just walked to the register to ring me up. I just stayed quiet, paid and gave him his tip so I could leave and calm down. If you see a guy with an apron-vest combo packing all his things, highly suggest asking for someone else. read more

This was my go to barber and I've been maybe 100 times and probably have spend thousands. I booked online and 10 minutes later had to reschedule due to an emergency. I called IMMEDIATELY to let them know and they insisted I'd be charged full price for the appointment. I'd normally understand if this was someone who doesn't come here a lot but being a loyal customer and being charged for an emergency RESCHEDULE (not even a cancellation)... this has left I really bad taste in my mouth. I recently visited this barbershop and unfortunately, had a mixed experience. While the hairstylist did a decent job with the cut overall, she didn't cut it to match the look at all I'd shown her in a reference photo at the start of the session. She wasnt un talented pursue but ignored what I had specially asked for. On top of that, she shaved off some hair in my unibrow area (with small buzzer) but accidentally took a chunk out of my right eyebrow. Now my eyebrows are uneven, and I'm feeling self-conscious about it. On top of that the shampooing and wash was weirdly agressive and despite everyone at the salon being kind i Don't think I will be returning. this might be a sign that the difference between a 40 and 60 haircut is exponential. read more

I walked in here on a lark. It had been some time since I had gotten a haircut, and it was well past time to do something about it. While the place was a little hard to find (through a random door, up a staircase, and then through another door), the salon was perfectly fine once I went inside. Nube did an excellent job cutting my hair. I asked for a cut with short sides and a longer top, and she gave me exactly what I was looking for. She was quick without being inattentive and didn't engage in too much mindless chitchat (which I don't love when I'm getting my hair cut). Came here for the first time with high expectations due to the fantastic reviews I read on Yelp. I ultimately left disappointed and upset. I asked my barber to do a low skin fade. First off, she throroughly thrashed my head with the electric trimmer, so much so I think I have a bruise or two. My appointment was for a standard cut and wash. The wash was fine albiet rushed. When I returned to my seat, I was absolutely disgusted to see it covered in piles of brown hair. My hair is black! I hadn't noticed when I first arrived, but the staff didn't have the courtesy to clean the seat before seating a new customer. Gross !!! At the end of the cut, my barber asked how everything looked. She didn't spend the time to use a razor to clean up my hair line, which I think is pretty standard at this price point. Instead, she used another electric trimmer and dug into the skin on the back of my neck for the last few minutes. Ouch! She gave me a 2/3 fade. I explained I asked for a skin fade, and she responded "well, different people cut hair differently". *Shrugs* I looked at the clock, my hair cut started at 12:40. And I was checking out and paying at 12:57. The most stressful 17 minutes of my weekend. I'm sure some of the other barbers are better, but I'm not taking another chance here. Good luck ! read more

They massaged my boyfriend's face, used a machine to massage & open pores, & put on a peel off charcoal mask with pads soaked in rose water over his eyes. Soufi did his haircut & he kept the mask on for the duration. I sat & observed. You can tell Soufi ONLY uses top quality hair cutters /razors/ buzzers (ugh don't know the name LOL!). I had seen Soufi do someone before my boyfriend & it looked FRESH! I was so excited see how my boyfriend's hair would come out. (&guess what, it was his BEST haircut I've ever seen on him!) Unfortunately with COVID we could no longer justify the trip into Manhattan every 3 weeks. I scoured Yelp for Stamford barber shops and Soufi definitely caught my eye. I easily made appointments online (where you can choose your stylist). Upon first impressions the shop is clean, modern, and pumps great music. This is a great environment to get your hair cut and styled! During COVID they provide hand sanitizer, wear masks and sanitize the tools. I felt very safe here. No more unpredictable self-cuts! For our first cut we were assigned to Luis. Luis is kind, and extremely meticulous. His fades are perfect and he finds any stray hair. I especially recommend Luis - after two cuts I'm a follower! I'll be going to Soufi Barbershop for Luis' talent for as long as I can. And did I mention how much you get for your money? Other barbers in Stamford are super pricey at as high as $45 a cut. It's very hard to find a barber that actually listens to what you want done. I went here and got a cut by the owners brother Nabil. Not only did he mess up and try to cover it when he buzzed a line at a zero where it shouldn't have been (it was poorly covered up), but he also cut off more than I asked on the top of my head. I'm giving two stars instead of one because I believe everyone makes mistakes. I just don't think it was handled properly by covering it up. Also trying to get the top of my hair to cover it up while you grab something. I noticed right away. The best thing to do in this situation it to let me know and offer me a discount or something.
