Overall the selection of gifts varies depending on age and preference. Plenty of t-shirts, photos of Mount Vernon, and even jewelry or blankets. I was surprised at how many different things could fit in this store. I think I spent over an hour here just to get some items. But one choice that I loved was this kitchen towel. Also, I wanted to grab this warm throw blanket but I just didn't think I could fit it in my luggage. Maybe next time when I come back!

They have recently upgraded it and have added some new stores as well. The shortlist of stores is: Giant Foods, Ross, Marshall's, Total Wine (a necessity LOL), ABC Store (another necessity hahaha), Hobby Lobby, Verizon, Five Below, LA Fitness, Sally Beauty Supply, The Dollar Tree, Footlocker, Subway, Pizza Hut, Quickway Hibachi, Jollibee, and many many more! It is an open strip mall and has plenty of parking and good lighting at night. The only negative is that sometimes there can be a bit of a wait to exit the shopping center from either of the only two ways out, but it is what it is. Happy Shopping Peeps!

Some stores have gone down in history as a failure while others rise from the ashes to start a new history. Take the new restaurant called Jollibee. This chicken restaurant is a place I will have check out. Maybe before Becky does. Restaurants like Pizza Hut (making it great) along Subway were they make it fresh are two restaurants near the liquor store in a beautiful purple color building. If you need food, supplies or a snack, Giant Foods can help you with that. Not feeling pretty today, Sally's beauty store or the nail salon and barbershops can help you. Feeling stressed or just need to kill some time at home? Reflexology Spa, Gamestop or The Hobby Lobby stores can help you with these things. Other games like Lacrosse can be found in a store called Lacrosse Unlimited. Unfortunately this store does not have Yukon Huskies merchandise. Parking here has gotten better with the new design for the area. I don't remember when this was fixed up, but I do remember the problems arose from finding a parking spot while the construction was underway. Landmark Plaza has been around for decades and now the area is getting an enema. The landmark mall is being torn down for some "gordy monstrosity" as Ruben would say(Ocean's Eleven: Ruben's In). More housing with shops under the apartments will appear. A better look for the city of Alexandria Virginia will happen over time. Landmark Plaza has lots to offer. I think it can most certainly keep up with the times Check it out and see if there is something Rebecca and I missed.

I saw some really incredible leather and suede jackets, cool acid wash jeans, and some unique sneakers while I was here. They sell their own merch, and honestly most of it was cool and funny. My biggest issue was the pricing. It was really inconsistent- I found a vintage Diane von Furstenberg dress for $35, which seemed like a steal, but then next to it was another vintage dress for over $100. There were some great unique sweaters for $30-40, but then some pretty boring t shirts that were $30 too. Just be prepared for prices all over the place.

It's 3 row houses joined together, with nooks and crannies everywhere. The longtime proprietor, Mehmet Yalcin, widely known for his expertise, sadly died last year, however, his daughter, Rabia Yalcin, is now running the store. She's been at her father's side from the beginning, and so the torch has been passed. I met with Rabia recently and she's hit the ground running. She's knowledgeable, trustworthy, and easy to do business with. I can recommend this treasure trove of carpets and village arts that originate from countries found on the famous Silk Road. It's a one-of-a-kind place and very worth your time.

We recently came across them at the Courthouse Plaza, and their selection of books was well-curated, and there were also other various gifts, plushes, stickers, caps, and bags that you could purchase! Giant has always been there and has gone through several modernizations and expansions. Kmart has also been a mainstay but now they are closing down. Restaurants include: Popeyes, Moby Dick, Maleks Pizza, Chipotle, Halal Guys, Potbelly, Bob and Edith's Diner, Pho, Hard Times, a Chinese place, and Pollo Camparo. Shops include: CVS, Lifeway Books, Buy Buy Baby, and Treasure Trove thrift shop. Grocery includes: Trader Joe's, Giant, and Springfield Butcher There is a new Pediatric Urgent Care center too. As you can see, there are quite a few shops that draw a lot of cars but there is only one light to get out. There are a few other ways in and out but those are also really congested. I do find it helpful that people participating in the DC slug lines are able to park here for free during the day.
