I highly reccomend Soul Flower aka Leah for your ceremonial Henna experience. She really makes it special and holds space for you to really sit with your intentions and anchor into them. She brings the henna to life in a super personal way. I had never had henna before and it feels soooo good on the skin and smells amazing too. Like a sweet hug from the plant with pure art and love flowing through. Leah did this henna for me before going on a trip and all of the intentions really came into fruition. I loved that I could look down and be reminded and anchored into my intentions. As the henna started to fade I feel like the parts that I had embodied fully would fade with it. It was such a spiritual experience. I highly reccomend this offering. I am excited to receive more henna from Leah soon!! read more

History

Established in 2016.

I began doing henna in my small Minnesota hometown at local fairs and events. I started expanding to work several state fairs with other artists in the Midwest, my summers packed full of family fun! During Covid, I realized I wanted to incorporate more healing and intention into my art. I learned and developed a beautiful technique using meditation, intention setting, symbols and words to create meaningful sessions and unique, intuitive henna designs for each person. I then started traveling to music and healing festivals all over the US, with a team of women I trained to do henna with me! We shared so much love and created so much connection as we adorned with intentional henna. I felt the call to move to Maui in 2022, and I travel to Minnesota in the summers to continue the legacy.

Aloha! I grew up in Northern Minnesota, crafty and artistic from a young age! I found henna when I was 19 years old, and I instantly fell in love. It was a soul remembrance, like I had done it before. Henna brought incredible healing to my life, in connecting me with the present moment, helping me connect with my body and creativity, and invoking confidence and self-love in new ways. I am passionate about creating the space for you to connect with your soul’s essence and purpose in this life, through utilizing meditation, henna, symbols and words to create a deeply meaningful moment of rememberance for yourself.

IMHO I always get a…read morehenna or jagua temporary tattoo when I'm in Maui. I had difficulty finding an artist and/or the price I wanted to pay before the end of my trip. Thankfully, I found Mir or Nir at the Henna Lounge at the Kihei Kalama Village, one of my favorite places to cruise and shop! I always choose the same tattoo and had a picture as reference for him. I asked how much it would cost, and he quoted $35. It was still more than I am used to paying for this small hand tattoo, but since it was near the end of my trip, I decided now was the time! (Normally I pay $20.) Mir and I had a nice chat while he created my tattoo, in this cute little comfy studio. My daughter and her friends walked in a short time later and also decided to have a tattoo created. My tip for your tattoo placement is to choose an area where there will be minimal bending. I had mine on the back of my hand and the design crossed the skin where my wrist bent. If you accidentally bend it while the design is drying, there is a good chance it will bleed. Mine did, but Mir fixed it. Next time, I will have the design moved up a little bit. Mir was a delight and very accommodating.

I've come here multiple times and always had a good experience but unfortunately can't say the same…read morethis time... I was charged $89 for this which felt a little high but I would have been fine with it if it came out correctly. He used a ink stencil to trace the design and I think the ink has still -- three days later not come off. It's not only smeared the design but is also rubbing off onto other surfaces and skin (I slept on my hand today and have this design on my face now). On top of that the henna design itself is very shakey looking and not clean at all. Also side note: I get henna often so I know how to properly care for it. I let it dry and cared for it just as directed. Over all unhappy with it. I don't normally feel like a refund is warranted but I really do at this point.

She responded right away and came to my hotel at the pool the very next morning. I noticed at the end of the day the henna was a little light and Crystal responded by coming the next morning and touched it up. I would highly recommend Crystal if your looking for henna tattoo or a new bikini she has custom ones for sale. It's wonderful to know that customer service on the island is for everyone.

Our first trip…read moreout was an adults-only family excursion while the kids hung out with their grandma and auntie. The catamaran was pretty sweet, with some really comfy bean bags overlooking the edge out to the ocean. While we did occasionally get splashed in this area, it was worth the unobstructed view of the sunset and the breeze in my hair. The crew was especially sweet and treated all of us like absolute royalty. A note to those who are prone to motion sickness: do not try to be brave and only wear sea bands thinking you'll be okay. Take your Dramamine an hour before you board the catamaran. While the first half of our dinner cruise was fine with my motion sickness, the second half of the trip left me feeling really queasy around dinner service time. This made me very sad. This was no fault of the crew, and 100% my fault for thinking I could tough it out. If you are ill-prepared, the crew has ginger ale, club soda and ginger chews to help. Speaking of dinner, the few bites I was able to eat on our first trip were fantastic: a full dinner buffet prepared by Cafe Jai. The salmon was perfectly tender, as was the short rib. The caesar salad was just the right amount of tangy (and the extra dressing was really great on the salmon as well.) I'm not sure what kind of sauce was on the crispy seasoned potatoes but they were absolutely delightful. And of course, the crown on top of a delicious meal was the mini brownie cup we were served for dessert before we wrapped up the trip. Our second trip (where I was prepared with some Dramamine) was a memorial for our grandparents, where we released their cremains at sea with eco-urns. I must say that the crew handled everything wonderfully. We had the full bar, another beautiful buffet spread including some delicious crispy chicken, a pesto pasta salad, pulled beef sliders, and rolls. After we said our emotional goodbyes, we were given rose petals to release into the ocean. We even received certificates after the trip that gave us the coordinates of where my grandparents cremains were released. I seriously cannot thank Sea Maui enough for giving my family a truly memorable experience on our trip to Maui. They made our trip so special. A million thanks for the kindness!

First - I had a special photo of my son and I (from when he was 4) that I was hoping to recreate on his wedding day. Anna actually brought the photo on the day and they took so many photos, and were so painstaking to even get the hand and body positions perfect. I will cherish the photo that they created! On the day - the team showed up well before our event, and they even mounted flashes up high, around the space (inconspicuously), so there would be enough light at our outdoor venue. They took pictures of everything - the layout, the flowers, and then they captured everyone's expressions as they arrived, and all of the laughter and love during the evening. We have received over a thousand photos, and I have no idea how we will choose - they are all stunning. Throughout the process, Anna was quick to set up Zoom calls (we were off-island and in another time zone!), and quick to respond to emails personally and promptly. She was warm and personable throughout, just a truly kind person to work with. Her team members are all very kind, energetic (!) and eager to do whatever is requested.
