I was surprised also that none of the reviews I read talked about the feedlot smells that overwhelmed the hotel, inside and out. I understand most places in Central Kansas smell like this when the wind blows a certain way but it blew me away; but we made due. Beds were comfy. Lots of channels on the tv. Pool was NOT heated and needed cleaned more often. Beware- tile is slippery so watch your littles. Overall, not a bad stay.

When my husband tried to explain to him that I had cleaned the mattress and asked him to go look at it before trying to charge us. He decided instead he rather take our money for the five days we've paid in advance for and kick us out at 6 PM With nowhere to go. Then called the cops and had us trespassed without refunding us the nearly $400 we paid for in advance. There are many great places to stay in Dodge, I advise whatever you do stay at one of those and avoids this place like the plague.

We sent the oldest boy to the front desk several times for more towels, including pool towels, and there was never any hesitation from the staff! When we checked in, the guy at the front knew who we were without even having to check on the computer. He gave us instructions on the room because they lock the exterior door from the outside and you must unlock it from the inside before you can access your room from the exterior door. We were on the first floor, by the way. The other floors had small balconies. Beds were super comfy and they had great pillows. They had an in room safe, microwave, small tv, iron, ironing board and hair dryer! It was pretty much right in the middle of town and directly next to the IHOP, if you are a fan. The continental breakfast included hot breakfast. Overall, completely impressed because I wasn't expecting anything of this quality in Dodge City!

On top of all this the young man at the desk clearly wished he were somewhere else. We decided that we just couldn't stay. He said ok, but since we booked through Expedia we had to deal with them to get a refund. We didn't even care. We just wanted to leave and consider it a lesson learned. This place should be shut down, or at the very least, NOT supported by travel advisors like Expedia.

Beds were comfortable, and the air conditioner worked. we ended up spending quite a bit of the evening in our room, after discovering that there really wasn't a whole lot to see in Dodge city, Kansas. maybe we just didn't look hard enough? Highlight for the trip was visiting the DQ, so there's that. One tragic flaw in the room was that for whatever reason, the television would turn off for no reason every few minutes or so. We called down to the front desk, and that nice guy informed us they were having some Internet issues, but he would try to reset it, etc. I checked the wires, and found that the HDMI cable was sort of loose; I even grabbed some tape out of the camper, just sort of hold it in place. A few minutes later, the front desk fellow knocked at the door, and asked if it was improved. At that moment, it kind of seem to be doing OK, so we thanked him for his kindness... But the TV kind of kept doing that on and off things sporadically until we shut it off for the night. The jacuzzi was set at 104 degrees, but never got over 90. I reported it to the front desk, they said it takes a while to heat up, I told them that it would stay at 104 if their heating element worked. There were two thermostats in the pool area, one was set at 90 and the other at 80. The room was at 62 degrees. Neither of these worked either. The pool was frigid colds d I question when the last time was that the water was checked and balanced. In our first room, the tv did not work and the heating unit made a constant noise from the fan. They were kind enough to at least give us a different room. I can't wait to see what breakfast will provide tomorrow, but at least this is just a one night stay for us. I booked through Expedia because I had points and rewards! Like I said we came due to a family emergency so money is tight! I immediately Called Expedia once I realized that I booked for the wrong weekend . Expedia was willing to change the dates with permission of the hotel. I WASNT canceling, I was moving it one weekend earlier. Dhuruv Bhakti was hesitant to contact her manager, I asked her to please contact them because it was a honest mistake and Expedia needed his/her permission. (managers should answer with emergencies, she stated they were told not to contact them on weekends because they are off). The hotel was still getting business just a weekend early. She said she finally called the manager and the manager said no to moving it a weekend early because I picked "no cancellation" option. Like mentioned to her we are here from Denver due to a family emergency and needed something I wasn't paying attention. I wasnt canceling. I was moving it for this weekend instead of next! Now we lost money, a place to sleep. Keep in mind it was my husband and my kids! I have never been so upset with a hotel! Expedia gave better customer experience than the employees at this location. Reading reviews from other places it seems like the same thing, all this booking agencies are supportive about the client resolving issues, it's management here not being receptive and providing support! They seem to like stealing rewards and what not.
