Charged me an overdraft fee for a coinbase transaction that I never made and it doesn't even show on my coinbase account, I tried to explain situation to someone on the phone who seemed helpful at first, and then told me there would be a fee to cancel the fee, so I hung up, drove in, and the woman there was extremely rude, I tried to show her my coinbase account history to show that I have made no transactions, she wouldnt even look at it, and said "Well just have to agree to disagree". Pretty upset at the way they treated me as a customer for 10+ years. read more

They failed to get me the title to my car after paying it off. My address changed but I updated my address with them, I was told they would send the title to the new address. Several months later, still no title and was told "we mailed it to the address from the loan so now we can't do anything." Even though they were given the new address and told me they would mail it to the new address. Now I have to file paperwork and pay fo their error. The car loan I paid off 10 months ago still shows on my credit report as having a balance of several thousand dollars. So annoying!!!!!!! read more

I'm so impressed with the customer service at the Bellevue location of Sound Credit Union. Alyssa helped me sort out a bill pay issue by helping me track down a payment gone astray. I was very appreciative of her investigation and quick turn-around. She worked through all the various functions with me online, and supported my picking another route to make the payment. Run away! They do not answer the phone, they do not return your emails, they charge you fees that that you cannot answer to or contest because they apparently have a no callback/emailback policy. Worst bank I have every been associated with. read more

Ever since the bank bailout crap of the 2000s, We've converted to credit unions! We've been with Sound CU, which was Watermark, for about 3 years now. Here's a nice little benefit for having a direct deposit with Sound CU checking account: You're "check" gets deposited a day early! Yup! I get "paid" on Fridays, but the money gets deposited in the account on Thursday morning! And no more rolling coins. Just take your coin stash and dump it in their machine...it counts it, spits out a receipt to take to the teller to deposit or cash it out. Easy! read more

I had a great experience with Deborah when I set up my Health Savings Account. She was not only professional, but she was incredibly charismatic, helpful, knowledgeable and quick. It's hard to find that these days. She seems to truly enjoy her job and working with her and the staff felt like they actually cared about their customers and not just about making money or doing another meaningless transaction. Under performing credit union. Snarky, not knowledgeable phone operators and quarterly loan statements, never heard of that. Great interest rate on auto loan, but all interactions and everything else sub par. Branch personnel are friendly and helpful but doesn't really make up for the rest of it. We have to go to a branch to get our statements. Wouldn't recommend or use again , try to use BECU, NFCU, or Alaska CU if you can. read more

I was really excited about the CD interest rates with their bank but it has been difficult to coordinate a time to come in and open an account because of my partner's work schedule. We came in today around 4:30 pm. The teller was nice and told us to wait in one of the office room while she checked with the banker if we could set up a CD account. We waited up to 15 minutes to be told that they were not able to open an account for us at the moment because the bank representative did not have time and it was the end of the day-they close at 6 pm. We weren't investing a million dollars but a good amount. They did apologize but it did bother me because it feels like they don't value their customers or go out of their way for them. The teller mentioned we should call their customer phone line-I did and they have very long waiting times. Plus I don't feel like I want to keep waiting on the phone and in their bank. They set up an unofficial appointment time for another day but I already have a bit of a negative impression with them. I looked up another credit union with similar rates but less flexibility then Sound. The other credit union has decent telephone services with no long waiting times. I have seen this other credit union goes out if their way for their customer. I think we will choose the Salal credit union over Sound to do our business with. read more

My first yelp Review ever was for this place and now my second one a year later is ALSO for this place and specifically, Deborah, again. She's still amazing, funny, quick, genius and fantastic (even though I spelled her name wrong in my first review!) Don't get me wrong, the whole team Is great so no disrespect whatsoever but man alive, I'm in a customer service field also and I hope I can embody even 1/10th of what that girl gives to her clients. Above and beyond. Attention to detail and genuine care are what I get from her when I come in. Every. Dang. Time. I love going to see her, she takes great care of me (and my daughter, as well as boyfriend because we all come here now) and is pretty much the only reason I have any savings at all. Not only that, I recently came in to set up a business account with her and it was a particularly rough day and I may or may have not started crying for a minute (who does that at the bank???) and she immediately was able to get me back on track, get me laughing and reassure me that all would be well, all while punching out numbers and thoroughly reviewing the fine print with me. I told her she's never ever allowed to leave here or I'll be absolutely screwed and it may turn into a "What About Bob?" scenario. Not that I even know that movie, otherwise, I would be really old. Seriously, she is one of a kind and I wouldn't be surprised if she gets promoted and DOES leave me someday (don't do it!) but until then, I'll continue to get incredible care and service from her and the team at this location. read more

I will never, ever use this credit union again. Lied to, account closed, and money taken. Read on to find out. I opened a savings only account at the Kelsey Creek branch in Bellevue in October, 2013. My goal was to get savings bonds, and I needed a specific signature. The branch manager, Josh, ultimately helped me. I had to open a savings account for $25, no card was given to me, as it was strictly to get the signature I needed. When I opened it, I CLEARLY asked Josh and a teller if I had to use it, because I have a primary account somewhere else. I had no plans to use it. BOTH Josh and the teller said no, it can just sit there, it doesn't need any activity, nothing will happen. I clarified my point a couple of times and both reassured me the account would remain active without use. Fast forward to today, November 2015. I received a money order and wanted to cash it, so I went to the branch in Tukwila, which is closer to where I live now. The teller, Dominique, said the account was inactive and to speak with the branch manager GINA about it. I went over to GINA, a very skinny lady, no smile, stone faced, monotone. She said my account went stale after not being used, and because of the fees, my $25 was taken. WHAT? I was told this is a FREE account. She said it was never used. I told her the whole point of it was to get savings bonds and I specifically asked JOSH, the Bellevue branch manager, if the account would stay active. He assured me yes. GINA said no, that was bad advice. No GINA, that is not bad advice, that is called a LIE, look up the difference. She said with any credit union, if the account is not used for 1 year, it goes inactive. I called bullshit on that. I have 3 accounts with another credit union, and one of them has not been used in over 5 years, yet it is still active. I see it every time I look at my main account. It has not been touched since at least 2010. GINA said my money was absorbed by the fees (by this SUPPOSEDLY FREE account), and it has been terminated, all because I didn't use it. What? I have to use it to keep it? What if I bought a car and didn't use it? Would they just take it? At no point did GINA ever smile, offer ANY apology, absolutely nothing. During our 5 minute conversation, she expressed ZERO emotion, remained monotone, and glared at me. I finally left and told her, quite bluntly, this was a cheap $25 lesson, and I sure as hell will NEVER use you again. Thank god I have another credit union who has given me much better treatment. She didn't say a word and continued glaring. GINA, Tukwila branch manager, your customer service skills are HORRIBLE. Try showing a little sympathy and emotion. It cost me $25 (not a lot) to have this credit union screw me. This is why I will NEVER use them again. I was lied to, my account closed, and the little money I had it in taken. read more

I love my credit union! I have been with Sound when it was Seattle Tel-o in the 90's, Watermark and then I think Sound. What makes me love it? Amanda out of the West Seattle office caught some fraud on my checking account. She called me and we found 4 different cases which Sound Re-imbursed me for. This bank wanted a stage four cancer patient to fly from Japan to correct their error on the beneficiary documentation. This is the kind of bank that does not care about their clients and rather you go through legal means to resolve it. The phone support will give you mixed responses. Bankers do not give consistent responses. The bankers do not understand the meaning of power of attorney. The bankers have told me to seek legal counsel. Please think twice before using them. read more

I opened an account here two weeks ago. I ordered checks and a debit card. THEY FORGOT TO ORDER THEM!! I called the customer service number this morning because I became concerned when the money for the check order still had not been taken out of my account. The lady on the phone said she couldn't tell by looking at her screen and would contact the branch and either someone at the branch or herself would call me back "right away". Fast forward 2 hours, I call customer service again. Another lady tells me the branch never ordered them. I have my first car payment due on Monday and it will be another 1-2 weeks before I can get a debit card or checks.They really dropped the ball. The guy who opened my account was an account "manager". Doesn't seem like he can manage too well. I was the only one in there when I opened my account so you can't even chalk it up to being busy. This is not a good first impression at all. read more
