My friend Julie happen to recommend this place so I wanted to explore what this place has to offer. *Location & Parking* La'akea Healing center is located on the ground floor of Maunakea street side and parking is located inside Marin tower. *Store vibe* Their store entrance has an automatic lock so if the door is closed, just make sure to knock and someone will come down and open it but if the door is open just walk right in. I love how the room is decorated with mix of Hawaiian monarch portraits, medicinal indoor plants, Filipino ancestors alter. And an inventory of sage, sometimes they will have handmade Filipino charms, candles, crystals, herbs, salts, tarot decks, incense, intention sprays, holy water, and deity statues. The Laakea Healing center is ran by Rev. Zanny (Filipino guy) and Kumu Darcie (loving wife), they both offer different healing services. If you go on their website, click on the 'book' section and it ranges from hypnosis, reiki healing, tarot reading, Tawas, Hilot, Fertility Hilot, and spiritual cleansing. *Hilot Session* They had a limited time discounted 30 minute Hilot session so I took advantage of that and booked it for February 7. Kumu Darcie greeted me when I entered the shop and notified Rev. Zanny that I arrived. I walked up to the spot where there was a beautiful alter with pictures of past relatives, pets, and other Filipino decorations. Rev. Zanny will perform a paper Tawas and Hilot according to my body's needs. After the session I felt like I reconnected with my ancestors and they even visited me during my session! Felt that my body's tension has been release too! *Tawas Workshop* This 4 hour Tawas class was very fun and informative! Kumu Darcie gave the lectures through PowerPoint and gave us a packet that goes more into detail if we want to study and practice more at home and Rev. Zanny does the demonstrations. We learned the paper, candle, and egg methods. This class really helps sharpen your intuition and a deeper understanding about the spiritual importance of these tools. Honestly I was nervous because I was scared I was going to do the steps wrong with my Tawas partners but Darcie and Zanny will help polish your skills and give out pointers. After both experiences I am determine to save up and join their 9 day Hilot Retreat for next year! I have spiritual gifts and I felt called to reconnect with my ancestral roots.
