I never feel rushed or anything like that. A reminder is sent in December to let you know that you should schedule an appointment or upload all your documents to the SmartVault before the appointment or as a substitute for your appointment. Smart Vault is where they store all your past tax documents, which comes in handy if it's ever needed. This year, I decided to explore the other options and utilized the SmartVault option, so all I had to do was upload all my documents and just wait until Joe get a chance to process it. Joe called me with additional questions. After all said and done, he sent me notification that it's ready to file, and all I had to do was reviewed, signed, scanned, and upload to SmartVault for filing. The invoice for the service is also included, and you can make a payment over the phone with Sally. This is so convenient, and such an innovation way to do your taxes without having to leave the comfort of your home and fight traffic. Super awesome! And I will definitely be back, and suggest you do too!

I made four phone calls and three emails over a period of six weeks which were totally ignored. I let this pass and tried using him again. On March 7, 2025 I made an appointment to come in on March 11. The morning of March 11, he cancelled the appointment due to car trouble. I said "why don't we do this next week at your office." He replied "I will let you know by Friday which day works best for me." That would have been the 14th. I didn't hear from him again until the 18th, the next Tuesday. Now he still won't make an appointment. His office is right next to a light rail station that connects directly to where he lives, but he refuses to meet me at his office until he buys a new car. At the height of the tax season. I told him I am leaving town in a few days until after April 15th. And when I propose to meet him in the vicinity of where he lives, days later I still haven't gotten a response. Doesn't care at all about ignoring and inconveniencing others.

Very nice people but I would never use them again…read more I had them prepare my taxes for the last four years. First year was great. Then they incrementally increase their fees year over year while doing the exact same work. As a customer I felt taken advantage of. First year they charge me approximately $400 to prepare my taxes. This year they charged nearly $1000 to prepare the exact same taxes. Now that would've been fine if they had notified me prior to doing the work that they would be charging me 100% more to do my taxes this year. That way I would've i could have made an informed decision to either say yes or no to the work. Instead they perform the work and then blindside me with with an enormous bill. It would've been one thing if they had used some special accounting magic and lowered my tax obligation but that was not the case. For their thousand dollar bill I could've gotten the exact same results filing standard deductions using $30 TurboTax. So basically as they observed my income increasing over the years they decided to charge me more to prepare my taxes even though the work was exactly the same. To me that just shows a lack of ethics. So even though they're very nice I would never use them again nor will I recommend them to anyone that I know.

We've resisted using an accountant for a long time--until our taxes got too complicated. I thought we were doing pretty good using Turbo Tax but Steve knows so much more and can find deductions that we didn't realize existed. Paying for an accountant to do your taxes is often thought of as an unneeded expense but I think Steve is worth the money. Especially if he saves us time and money as well as peace of mind knowing our taxes are in good hands. His fees are very fair. He does what he says he will do and we don't get surprises for hidden or added costs. I highly recommend him!

Hmmmh, not feeling warm and fuzzy about the whole "relationship" vibe they promote. UPDATE: Wow, super fast response to initial review (1/2 hr, maybe). Wish I could do 3.5, or better yet, 4 (if they had actually reached out instead of offering to help via Yelp). Sorry, need to agree to disagree. There weren't that many online questions, and one would hope the purpose was to match you with the right person. But 2 of the few questions were how much my company and I personally made per year. If the firm interests you, I would recommend you call them - not use the online gatekeeper. Other reviewers are certainly positive about their interpersonal skills. I'm was just turned off by the cold "sorry no" at this point.
