They are a saltwater shop, so don't plan on seeing a bunch of 3wt rods and trout taper lines, but expect a great selection of fly rods, fly reels, and fly lines ranging from 6wt on up to 12wt gear. They have a really good selection of flies too, that they rotate out seasonally. If it's on their fly table, it works, period. Don't know what flies are best? That's okay, their staff is more than happy to talk you through the benefits and negatives of each fly pattern for any certain scenario you have in mind. Need fly tying material? Well they have exactly what you need for tying the best saltwater patterns. You aren't going to see size 22 hooks and dubbing, but you are going to see plenty of saltwater hooks, eyes, bucktail, synthetic materials, Puglisi brushes, flash, estaz, epoxies, etc. They have both hardcore fishing apparel like sun shirts, boots, and bibs, to lifestyle wear from your favorite brands. Need a sweet new hat, they have a million different styles in stock. The guys that Perry employs really love the sport of fly fishing and they are super approachable. Whether you are a complete beginner or you've fly fished the world, they will make you feel at home. Heck, they'll even offer you a seat and a cold drink from their sticker covered fridge. I've been coming to this shop for a while now, and it's easily one of my favorites. The crew is always friendly and welcoming, and they've got one of the best selections of fly-tying materials around. Stuff I'd normally have to order online, they've got it! You can tell they really care about the local fly fishing community. I booked a inshore trip with Perry, and it was an awesome experience. He was upbeat, very knowledgeable, and went above and beyond, literally got out and pushed the skiff through a skinny spot to keep us on fish. My buddy and I had a great time! Just got back from another fantastic Albie trip with my favorite Captain, Perry of Sound Side Outfitters. As always, Captain Perry delivered even when the fishing was tough and fish were picky. We caught one of the biggest of the season not to mention several others and one that even broke my 10 wt rod. All part of a GREAT experience, weather and all! Every time I fish or talk with Perry, I walk away having learned something new, whether it's about fly fishing, capturing the entire fish (iykyk ), boats, or just how to approach a situation on the water. I have fished with Perry on multiple occasions and each trip was a great time on the water. From redfish to false albies he knows his stuff and he shares his knowledge prior to the trip as well as when you are on the water with him.
