Reliable and chill space to practice/write/rehearse. Nothing snazzy; might need some light remodeling soon. But overall consistent and offers good value. They've got various sizes of rooms and musical/instrumental/audio equipment to use if you need. The guys who work the front desk are always awesome and helpful. Definitely recommend - esp if you're local. read more

This place is our go-to for any of our jam needs, weather you're planing on inviting some friends for a cool jamming session, or rehearsals before an upcoming gig, it's a cool place to visit. Nothing is too fancy, pretty old equipment but staff there will get you what you need and all to all, the atmosphere is pretty laid back so you can basically do whatever you feel like, which is kind of fun, especially when you invite those wild friends of yours :) Price is very decent and very approachable, even in a musician scale :) read more

First and last time using this place to practice. Although, the facilities were adequate in that they were clean, safe for a crappy sounding bass amp our room had, my review is based on my experience with one of their employees. I arrived before my group and checked in at the front office. Was asked for the name our session was booked under. The employee with glasses and tight iron maiden shirt proceeded to make fun of the persons name who booked the studio and called them 'sphincter' and got a huge kick out of it. When I corrected this individual, he said 'I like sphincter' better. Very unprofessional and strike one. Since this was the first time patronizing this establishment and meeting the studio employee, I didn't feel this was a way you would treat a paying customer. First impressions, right? He then told me which studio we would be in. I told him that it was my first time there and if he could point me in the direction where to go, to which he replied 'if you know the alphabet, then you can find it....studio C'. Unbelievable and strike two. I let it slide. Having dealt with many a cranky studio employee on many occasions, I just chalked it up to the guy being bitter over a failed music career. We rehearsed and my buddy on bass used their house amp and cabinet for convenience, as you do. Wasn't a great sounding amp, but we played through it since it wasn't that big of deal. Upon load out, my buddy spoke to the same bespectacled, rude individual that I dealt with when I arrived; and he was told it was his bass or the pickups in it and got the total brush off. Strike three. Because of this employee, we will not return. read more

The positive: The gear on the showcase room is really good. The building is very well maintained with clear bathrooms and nice carpeting. Once we got a hold of the staff they were more helpful but it was hard having to finding them and asking for things more than once. There were more than a few awkward moments. They have easy access parking. The negative: The acoustics on the showcase room are awful. The roof is too low and the sound of each instrument just overlaps and is hard to listen to each other. The staff bailed out on us as soon as we arrived for 20 minutes and they were nowhere to be found. Air conditioner wasn't turned on after the staff bailed even though they promised they'll turn it on as soon as we arrived. Then when they came in it was turned on barely. We fried under the lights of the showcase room since we didn't have access to configure it. The shameful and unacceptable: There was a fraudulent credit card charge against the bandmate who booked the room. All in all, it looks like the owner might need new staff or they simply didn't like us and didn't want us to come back by doing everything possible to give a bad impression without looking like they were trying to hard. read more

I've been rehearsing here for the past 2 1/2 years. I sing and I am not as loud as my band mates are, as a result I always need help with amping up my vocals and working the console (which I didn't really know how to properly mix before) Ernie usually comes and checks in 5 min. into our rehearsal time to see if we sound good or if we need help with anything; he also makes sure we're able to get in on time, and if for some reason the band before us runs late he usually allows us to go on for that extra time in the studio... This place is exactly what it should be and says it is, a rehearsal space that you rent for certain amt. of hs, and they run on time, it has a great staff that knows how to Crack a joke and keep things rolling... can't complaint! read more

With competative rates, these practice rooms are spacious, don't smell like weed, and have great equipment and acoustics. Sound Studios is usually where my band sounds best. I've been playing music well over 30 years and been/rehearsed at many different rehearsal studios...SSR: not the best, not the worst, it's had better days I'm sure! As a drummer, when you have 1000 different drummers playing on the same kit, heads and cymbals break and they don't really maintain their gear on a regular level. I've had bass drums slipping away because one of the claw rods was bent! (They went and replaced the bass drum after I brought it to their attention!) The staff is cool, they just need to maintain their gear better. (Note: I'm not disrespecting the staff as they do the best they can while trying to keep up with the demands of all the band rehearsing at a single time!) read more

This place is exactly what it presents itself as, good value and convenient location. The equipment isn't going to be boutique level, but you're not paying $30/hr either. I've never had issues with the equipment not working. The guys working there are great, especially after you're a regular there and they know you. It's almost like rehearsing at a friends place. If you're a snob, move on, this place wont make you happy, but then again, snobs usually complain about everything. If you're a middle class person in a band, it will totally suit your needs. ] My only gripe is the a/c. It works fine, but it's on a 60 min timer, so if youre there for 3 hours, you gotta leave the room twice to tell the guys you're sweating bullets. Other than that, I love this place. OH, and parking is never an issue and thats a serious problem with a lot of places. read more

This place is okay if you can't find another place to rehearse at. They used to be a company called Sound Arena from the 80's to the 90s when I used to play in a Molly Hatchet cover band. Ed was a good guy but the place closed and it's shown in many ways The place got new ownership and apparently they didnt want to change much of the equipment. We spent a few years away until they did. They added room recorders but also had some weird 70 (YES SEVENTY) year old woman working the business one morning we booked there. She must have been Ukrainian cause she couldnt understand ANYTHING I said or asked about. Then she had the nerve to ask us to lower our volume. I dont know who the new owner is but it's had its days. For a while they were sending me annoying phone calls from an auto dialer and this almost made our uptight drummer quit when he started threatening US about it. Thing is we never gave out his information. To make things worse these guys close whenever they want to. We tried booking a weekend rehearsal for a trip up the coast and couldn't get through. Later we found out the owner had been closing the business from friday through sunday. I don't understand how a business would operate like that. They lost us for a long while Thankfully there are cool guys like Matt, Ernie, Tony and Hector to fill out the strange thing there. Show up when they're in and they usually make things a lot better. We've been cool with some of the guys for years now. I dont think the owner is a musician and it really shows. Bottom dollar bottom feeders. They dont make rehearsal spaces like they do in new york maybe it's a bad economy but we stopped going here and began going to Amp. Even Sound Arena had its day. STAY AWAY! First off, an hour after I paid, fraud was committed against the credit card I paid with. I have proof that it originated at Sound Studios. Second, the service is horrible here. I had to wait 15 minutes to get someone to come in and get the mixing board working, it was hotter than hell in there because I had to ask 3 times to get the A/C turned on. When it was time to leave, the guy working there didn't waste any time letting us know time was up. When I went to pay, he was nowhere to be found and I had to wait 10 minutes for him to reappear.
