I was severely injured by a…read morePT Assistant whom I had already requested not to see, because I could tell she was not understanding what I needed as a 70- year -old woman with a complicated proximal humerus fracture. One of her first statements was ' We don't play around here' and mentioned surgery which is fully outside her standard of care. I took my name off all further appointments with her, and then her supervisor, Natalie, who I was supposed to see came out one day and took someone else back and I got put in with this gal, Sarah, who I well knew was not a good idea to work with. I was treated very forcefully, and overworked completely. She then made me do some exercises I should never have been doing which further injured me. My whole arm and shoulder immediately got swollen and very painful, and it had been doing relatively fine before. I went to my orthopedic surgeon and he ordered an MRI and said, yes it had been severely injured, and that I am now behind one year in healing. This has totally impeded any further progress being made at this time and changed my whole life. In my opinion, this practitioner should not be treating people, as it is very unsafe and reckless treatment behavior.

Both my dad and I have been to the big, franchised PT centers where they have lots of fancy equipment but very little individualized care. Unlike those centers, the team at Pioneer offers care you just won't find other places - they are always giving you one-on-one focus, and they are really creative and responsive to varying needs. They are also just an extremely warm, thoughtful, and generally lovely group of people. I cannot recommend Pioneer highly enough.

After seeing Chris Frost on and off for ten plus years for occasional and recurring lower back pain…read morewhich Chris was able to mitigate shortly after every visit, I somehow for the first time in my life developed Plantar Fasciitis on my right foot and at a random visit I mentioned this to him during one of my back pain episodes. The pain got worst over a one year period. I have cement floors in half my house. Chris advice was to never walk bare-footed from the moment of waking up to the time I went to bed. Well after following his advice the pain slowly ebbed over a six month period and I am now totally pain free and the only cost was a pair of in house slippers with good support. At therapy in Newport Beach they started my sessions with hot stones on my back, and I felt both somewhat inadequate and even slightly less than stylish, but here at Greg's, where they put me right on the treadmill, I feel cared-for. (Todd had relieved his back issues and no surgery was required.) I was given his contact details and even though I lived in MT. Vernon, if he was this good, it would be worth the drive. On my first appointment, Todd sat down with me and just LISTENED. He then asked questions. He wanted to know about my injury, how it had affected my life and what my expectations were. Then we developed a plan. It wasn't your standard 'cookie cutter' plan. It was individualized just for me. This plan included stretches and exercises that were geared to me and my abilities and pain level. The exercises progressed as I progressed. l learned many new ways to protect my back including increasing my core strength, using my legs to help manage the weight, and how much is 'ok' to lift.
