I had no idea what to search for or what to expect when contacting a private security business…read more This was my first time seeking out these services in order to more safely address/resolve a situation with a mentally unstable, aggressive, and often-drugged up individual. I spoke with Mike on the phone last week about my situation. He was professional and patient with my little worry-filled self. He followed up diligently to my questions / concerns and provided resources that were helpful for my situation. He worked w my uncertain timeline due to this particular unstable individual's unpredictability. The situation ended up resolving peacefully. I am grateful for Mike's support throughout it, and I highly recommend working w him for your security needs - whether as a little female like me fearful and needing help; or private security for dignitaries; or for organizations needing security for events. It was difficult to figure out what to search for with private security, but through this experience, I learned through a bit of research that Virginia's Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) has a website where you can look up a business related to security and see the license info (and make sure they are legit too if you're working w one private individual). You can also read into what the differences in training are for each of the certifications. Mike has agents available who can serve as unarmed and armed security with arresting authority. (There might be more security services his business does, but this was mainly what I was needing so that's what we spoke on!)

Simply the best! I reached out to YES career coaching…read morebecause I was feeling stuck and ready for a change in my work. My resume was OK, but I wanted to put my best foot forward. The team did a fantastic job on rewriting my resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile. I ended up applying to a handful of jobs and got an interview immediately. What ended up happening though is that during the resume rewriting process, I developed this newfound confidence in my work that I never had before and I was going to go after what I wanted to do. I started to network with people that I knew in my area at different companies and ended up with an opportunity that was a perfect fit for me. Since I was a referral, the management team was not too focused on my resume but I ended up getting the job! I am thrilled to start this next chapter of my career and I have to thank YES career coaching for guiding me to see the light I had inside of me so that I can show up and be the best version of myself. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful service and great resume tips! After I missed an event hosted by YES at their office, 6…read moremonths later Michael kindly reached out to me with a warm and sincere email amid Covid and offered a free resume consultation. My 30 min consultation with Katherine was really helpful! I learned formatting tips and ways to beef up my resume by adding a header, summary, and core competencies and creating sectional dividers. She recommended outcome-based bullet points that highlight the benefits and quantify the results rather than a laundry list of tasks. Katherine was friendly and thorough and even had enough time to quickly proofread my hubby's resume. It was really nice to get an extra set of eyes! While the $299 starter package seems a bit pricey, it's a good deal considering that you are equipped with the A team of an interviewer, drafter, and editor. They will rewrite your resume and can fine tune and belt out those bullet points. While my resume could use a few tweaks, the starter package is a great option if you're looking for a resume overhaul without doing all the guess work. I found the resume consultation surprisingly useful. Would highly recommend it and consider the packages!

I agree with another reviewer's comments with regards to poor communication and customer service. I…read morespecifically had a dissapointing experience with Steve Biegler, who is the managing principal at KWC's Richmond office. I contacted Steve in February 2017 after he was recommended to be my a friend. I sent him all my paperwork electronically at the beginning of March and waited for him to get back to me after reviewing it. By the end of March I had still not heard from him, so I emailed him again. Apparently he had misplaced, deleted, or was unable to retrieve my paperwork, which I sent him again. We finally had a phone conversation lasting 30-45 minutes about my taxes at the beginning of April. I did not receive the paperwork to sign and submit my taxes until April 12th, and ended up paying a significant amount on both federal and state taxes to 3 different states. I then received an invoice that appeared way too high for a 30-45 minute conversation, despite my taxes including 3 different states. I asked Steve via email to call me to discuss the charges. He was out of town and said he would get back to me when he came back. I am yet to hear back from him, and while waiting, I have received a new invoice with additional finance charges. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Steve Biegler or KWC for my 2017 taxes, and I will not be recommending KWC to anybody for their accounting needs.

Dreadful customer communication…read more If you'd like to be ignored, this is the accountant for you. The company said their poor service led to an unacceptable outcome, then told me to get lost. They offered to apologize, but have not done so yet. They have not offered compensation for my time and inconvenience. On the good side, they have not yet charged me a fee. And all language has been clean to date. On a recommendation from a friend, we asked Kositzka Wicks to consult on our federal and state taxes to see whether we should do something other than follow TaxCut's advice. The senior staffer who had been recommended to us made an appointment to see us, and asked for copies of our tax returns for 2012 and 2013. About a month before our scheduled meeting I took a few hours to produce legible PDFs from TaxCut for those years and uploaded them to a site that she had provided. At the meeting she said she had not received my returns. When I said that I had uploaded them a month ago, she left us sitting for a few minutes while she went to check. She then said that she could see that we had uploaded the files, but that she could not retrieve them because the links had expired. We left with plans to again upload the files and return later for a productive meeting. At home, I could not find the PDFs and recalled that I had deleted them for security reasons. I emailed the senior staffer asking her to try again to recover the files from her site, so that I would not have to spend time regenerating them. After a day without an answer I emailed her boss, who told me that the company did not want my business. He said that the outcome of our meeting was unacceptable, and offered to apologize. I replied that his apology would be welcome if he chose to extend it.

I hired Landmark Computer in the spring of 2010 when my 4-year-old Dell up and died one morning. I…read morecalled several computer fix-it places and decided on Landmark because the person who answered the phone (who turned out to be the owner, Bud Stolker) took the time to talk through what had happened in the computer's last moments, seemed like he knew what he was talking about, gave a reasonable-sounding price estimate, and said he would come to our house on a weekend to pick up the computer. I was incredibly happy with Landmark's service. It turned out our hard drive was failing. The backup system we thought we had set up was not working right, so we were looking at possibly losing all our photos, music, etc. But Bud was able to recover all except a few files. He then installed a new hard drive, brought the computer back to our house, re-set it up, installed a free program to automatically back up our files onto our external hard drive, and installed an updated virus protection system--all for I think $325 for the labor and hard drive plus $40 for delivering the computer. I was reminded to write this review because just now, almost a year later, our computer was running slowly, and I wrote to Landmark again. Bud had us do something where we logged on to his website and downloaded something so he could look at our computer from afar as though he were here. (As you can see I am not super computer literate.) He confirmed that we had a reasonable amount of free disk space and did not have any viruses, then deleted something unnecessary that had been running automatically when the computer started up. Now the computer is running much faster. This took him about 20 minutes and didn't charge us anything--he said he would only charge us if he had to do something more time-consuming. All this is to say, I heartily recommend Landmark Computer!

He provides an invoice that is clear and complete and fairly priced. There is no nickel-and-diming. He came to my house to pick up a laptop I asked him to set up for me. I forgot to give him the power cord. It turns out that he did not have one in the shop because the machine is a late-model Lenovo with a new much-smaller fitting. He went to his supplier and got one there. No extra charge. All in all, friendly service that goes the extra mile.
