Disappointing Experience at Staples Springfield, VA…read more I went to this Staples to purchase printer cartridges and possibly a new paper shredder, but my experience was very disappointing. While I was in the shredder section trying to decide which one to get, a Staples employee - who appeared to be a supervisor - walked right past me without offering any assistance. She then went over to a counter with no customers while there was only one register open and several customers waiting. When I asked if I could check out at her counter, she said "no" in an unfriendly tone. Later, she opened a register -- but only for the next customer in line, not for me. When I finally did check out, the young man at the register was also not very friendly. Overall, I felt ignored and unappreciated as a customer. I ended up paying $100 for two XL printer cartridges and left feeling frustrated. I will only go back to this location as a last resort and will certainly avoid making any major purchases here. I will also look for more affordable options for cartridges elsewhere.

Then I asked people if it's okay to stand back on the line and they said it's okay. THIS UPS CENTER ASSOCIATE WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP CUSTOMERS DID NOT HELP AND PUT THEIR CUSTOMERS ON THE INCONVENIENT SPOT. Either they could say, "Please go back to your spot. Will help you in a minute." or "Can you accept his dropoff package?" Their scanner machine kiosk did not work, but their scanner on the counter worked. I stopped by to drop of a "no package or box needed" return for two items, (from the same order, same QR code), that were shipped to me seperately by the company. When I took them into UPS to make the return, in the same two packages they came in, Chris (the store owner) told me I had to either purchase a box large enough to put both items in or go package them myself in the same box. I knew that wasn't true, but to avoid a hassle, I went back to my car, combined the packages and returned to the store in less than 10 minutes. Upon my return, I was assisted by a different person. I explained the situation to the individual assisting me and asked if it was necessary for me to package both items together and he said NO! I knew that to be the case, but wanted to confirm. (NOTE: The regular staff at this location has always been very helpful and professional). This is the second incident I've had with Chris--he was very RUDE a couple months ago when I visited the store to process some returns. I didn't feel the need to write a review at that time; even though I didn't appreciate his unprofessional attitude, I chalked it up to him having a bad day. Yet here we are again! This type of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. I have no problem taking my business elsewhere.
