    T & D Custom Fences & Decks

In May when we were at our second home in NC we contacted several fence companies to come out and…read moregive us quotes. The first part of our search consisted of sightseeing throughout housing developments to rate the quality of fences installed. We compiled a list of two or three companies that appeared to do an o.k. job of installing fences. Then we went to our trusty computer and did searches on local fence and deck companies. T and D Custom Fences and Decks had not installed any in the community in which we own a home but due to the rave reviews on Google we contacted them in addition to the other two fence companies that are commonly viewed in this area. Boy, we were happy that we did. This company is very professional. The owner came with a binder of pictures and information on fences and decks they had installed. He based his quote on actual measurements rather than appearing to pick a number out of the air like another quote had done. The quote was sent to us via email. On the deck he was willing to get a permit from the City even though he explained they could do it either way and always far exceed normal building standards. For the deck he recommended kiln dried wood which we were delighted to have. The only drawback is they had a waiting listed so it would be four or more weeks before they could get to us. That wasn't a concern for us so it worked out great. After the initial contact all further communication was via email and phone. They accommodated our request to have a family member present in the house when the actual work was performed. Each day the employee made contact with our daughter and gave a progress report at the end of the day. The deck was built so sturdy and precise that we joke it will probably outstand the house in any storm. The fence was also built to our exact request. Thanks Tim for running such a wonderful company!

We had them…read moreconstruct a large deck with special features and lighting supposedly using TREX boards and materials. In less than a year, the side boards and steps warped and separated from the base. We tried for over two years to get Tim to come and fix the problem. He promised on numerous occasions he promised to fix it and simply never came. We contacted TREX and they reviewed the matter and refused to honor the warranty, because T&D did not use TREX approved fastners even through they assured us that the deck was all TREX materials. Finally, after three years of trying to get Tim to fix the problem, we had to spend over $3,000 dollars to fix the problem. Tim has refused to compensate us for the expenses we incurred. We strongly recommend that no one use T&D Custom Fences and Decks for any work.

My mother purchased her home from Source Contracting in July 2024, expecting professionalism and…read moreworkmanship consistent with a $1.3 million "luxury" home. What she has experienced instead has been nearly two years of unresolved defects, empty assurances, and a complete lack of accountability. The home came with a one-year warranty. Following a secondary inspection, a detailed list of legitimate issues was submitted on July 8, 2025 to Matthew Crawford, "Director of Operations." We were explicitly assured that all issues would be addressed. What followed was months of back-and-forth emails, repeated promises, and absolutely no meaningful action. It was not until November 19, 2025, after I posted a public review, that Mr. Crawford suddenly became responsive. Notably, this outreach came only after asking whether the review would be removed. Once again, we were told everything would be fixed. Once again, nothing happened. In addition to the ongoing unresolved issues, about a month agoSource Contracting's team worked in one of the bathrooms. The shelving had sustained water damage due to their subpar installation, so it was removed. Instead of responsibly replacing the damaged materials or removing them from the home, the water-stained shelves--along with the shelf hardware--were placed under the guest bed. This careless and unprofessional handling of damaged materials further underscores the company's disregard for basic standards of workmanship and respect for the homeowner. Fast forward to April 15, 2026: a Source Contracting employee came to remove cabinet doors to have them "repaired" rather than replaced--an apparent attempt to minimize costs on a high-end home. Since that day, there has been zero communication and zero follow-up. The doors remain unfixed. Other significant issues remain unresolved. What makes this situation even more frustrating is the visibility of Source Contracting's priorities. Their crew has been actively working on a neighboring home directly behind my mother's property--a house that has sat empty for nearly three years. Clearly, the manpower exists. It is simply reserved for new builds they can sell, not for standing behind homes they have already profited from. A company that takes pride in its work would correct defects, honor its warranty, and take responsibility without being publicly pressured. Source Contracting has demonstrated none of these qualities. The pattern here is clear: delay, deflect, placate, and disappear. As I stated in my previous review, I would not trust Source Contracting to build a dollhouse--certainly not a seven-figure "luxury" home. Their lack of work ethic, responsibility, and follow-through speaks far louder than any marketing ever could.
