All the others, after chatting on the phone, said the Service screwed up AGAIN and mis-matched us!!! I am out $3K, and you haven't even got the 3-business days Legal Cancellation on any Contract you sign, to Cancel. They say you agreed they get to keep 1/2 of what you paid because you took their stupid personality test. I did everything to the letter, letting them know about how the connection went, etc, after each match they gave me. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL! I would give 0 stars if I could. This is one of the worst decisions I've ever made. I spent HOURS with someone who interviewed me, and I felt comfortable that she would represent me well. She also told me that I could get half of my money back because "they stand by their product" (which was only true in the first 3 days). Then she was no longer part of the process. Whoever wrote my bio could have copied and pasted from anyone's - it was generic and didn't represent me at all. Based on the matches they sent, it's like they completely ignored what I shared in the interview. These people weren't even close to what I was looking for and they were very unhappy with the service as well. I don't understand the other reviews except for maybe it's just that it takes more time to find the right person than you'd hope for, mainly because you laid out an investment and because you're excited about finding someone. ANYWAYS - i joined about a two years ago. I've been on other online sites for several years and mainly found guys that just want one thing (we all know what) - so i decided to try the old school route. Debbie was fantastic - I mean, she is a really really nice woman who you can automatically tell cares a lot about what she does. I signed up and waited (very impatiently) - my kneejerk reaction was to call & get my money back but they explained that we're not looking for just any old d-bag, we're looking for the man I'm meant to marry. When put into context, I actually appreciated them being meticulous with selecting my matches versus just filling a quota and wasting my money. And now here we are... about 8 months ago I was matched with a guy who honestly at first i thought was going in the friend zone. But they told me if i had a good time on the first date, to see him again. I'm glad I listened..... Because now I'm engaged! Nathan is truly the guy I never saw coming and wouldn't have likely picked for myself. But now i cant picture my life without him. This was one of the worst compulsive decisions I've ever made! I was two weeks fresh out of a broken engagement and it was Valentines Day.... need I say more? I was not emotionally in a place to even consider another relationship but I fell prey to the "car salesman" pitch this company presented in my emotionally fragile state. I immediately regretted my decision and wrote an email and printed the letter and delivered directly to them. I was informed I'd still need to pay 50% of the signed contract total of $500! I explained I DID NOT want to participate in the process and was repeatedly told to just give it a try and that a match was in the works. Several weeks go by and no match, so I again call and say I DO NOT want a match I regret my decision to which I'm told we already sent you a match? I check my email and spam and no info was sent to which they say we will "resend" it? I reached out to the person to explain my situation and that I'm NOT looking to match and apologize only for him to say he never received MY match till after I had contacted him!!! This is a money making business that preys on people emotions! Turns out he was out of over $3,000 for his contract!! I contacted BBB and SC Consumer Affairs. Read their complaints. They agreed to pay me $250. They never paid it and have refused to answer repeated calls and letters from SC Consumer Affairs. I was interviewed and felt it was going to be like an available data base for me to see. As a very senior man i signed a contract with a 3 day termination clause for only a 50% refund. I put the payment on dispute after the next day (some 15 hours) after i signed it. They sent me 4 matches and they weren't anyone I would ever date. We had nothing in common, we had totally different lifestyles and zero attraction. The men that have been matched for me have zero in common, some were just rude and after 6 months I have yet met anyone face to face. The data base for clients is lacking to say the least, they just want to send you their choices based on making promises. They don't look out for your best interest. I went on 2 connections dates, 1 took me for coffee to tell me he was actually in a relationship, but "still looking", so he kept his profile "open". The other guy, got rip roaring drunk in a public restaurant and starting hitting on the man sitting next to me with his wife at the bar..... I'm filing a small claims court case and going to make an attempt to get the money returned. Deb makes you feel that you are in the right place and that she totally understand exactly where you are in life. She gives you so much hope that they have all these opportunities for a great match for you. I asked about the cost however that was not discussed until the very end. That should have been my first red flag. When she presented the cost I told her there was no way. She reduced the price and was willing to work out a deal with me. Second red flag. My experience with this company has been horrible!!! I joined on Dec. 7, 2017 after a long term relationship ended. I'm 67 so I felt I would like to be with a partner for the rest of my life. With Debbie's persistent pushing and lies ( sure she does this everyday) and keeping you there for hours, I said hours, I gave in after she kept dropping the price. Hopeful and believing. What a fool I was in a weak moment. After waiting for a match for 6 weeks and hearing nothing. I called and was given a so called match. Another horrible experience. An alcoholic who drank 9 beers in 3 hours, No telling what he may have had to drink before we met. He told me he had been getting dates from them for more than 4 and 1/2 years!!! Doesn't sound like they have been able to match him and just keep passing him around. Possibly even an employee of there's. When I was leaving him he grabbed me and stuck his tongue in my mouth( after telling me he had been sick all night and rubbed his chest against my breast back and forth. The front of my shirt was covered with black from his jacket ( I sent the picture to Debbie). Silly me I thought she would care. I had NEVER in my life heard of anything like it. Shaken I left. I reported to Debbie. Never heard anything back, she said she can't control how others act. (A GOOD LINE) I texted her on Jan 29, never heard anything back. Shortly before Easter I called again, they said they had a match, someone named Mark. I never heard from Mark or them. The same thing happened to me in Columbia, SC! I just went to a consultation yesterday. I was tricked into coming in by being told the same thing as another reviewer-"We need younger people like you in our database". After waiting for over an hour and half then having another hour and a half meeting I was told the price was around $5000. When I asked to take the contract home so I could read it because it was 8:45 pm on a Wednesday the sales lady refused and tried to pressure me into signing a contract that night. Major red flag so of course I walked out. The sales lady wouldn't tell me there success rate or the amount of singles in their database- Another red flag! I wish I could give them zero stars. I joined several months ago and the experience so far has been horrible. The interview process was so long and involved and detailed - I was there for 3 hours. But their sales talk is so slick and plays to all your emotions that you believe it - you want to believe it with all your heart that you are awesome and someone is going to find you the perfect match. And the cost! I paid over $4000 for 5 referrals. 3 of which I've already received. Two of them I actually met. One backed out before I could even meet him. And the two "dates" I went on? There was absolutely no way that someone who met me even for 5 minutes would have matched me with either of these guys - absolutely nothing in common, could not even keep a conversation going for the length of the date, which was only 30 min in one case. This was supposed to be a step up from online dating, a step up from going it on your own - the interviewer, in fact, made me feel sad and pathetic for ever trying those methods rather than their superior matching system. My god - I could swing a dead cat at the grocery store and find 10 men more suited to me than those I got matched with. I have given very detailed feedback to customer service after each date too, and the only reply I get is, "thanks for the feedback, we'll look for your next match". Clearly they are utterly ignoring everything I've said in my initial interview as well as all the feedback I've given along the way. Of course they are, they already got the money. They only really have a contractual obligation to provide a referral, they don't care at all about the quality of the match or about the experience. Their entire website is BS. The bottom line: my hunch is that they do not have enough people in their database and so to provide matches for all their clients, they will pretty much set you up with any breathing person that has paid their fee (and in my case, I suspect some of these men paid a much lower fee than what I paid judging from their comments - this makes me really angry too). I don't think I can get any money back on this contract, but hoping this review will each a few people. Think hard about whether you want to do this - I wish someone had warned me. I wish I would have read these reviews before making the appointment. When I completed the online profile, I received a phone call. I was told "if you can afford online dating, you can afford us." I then received an email with additional information. The email stated "no," they are not expensive. I then went to the interview. Unfortunately, I wasted 2 hours before learning that they DO charge $5,000!!! For this price, you get up to 5 referrals. If you want to meet more than 5 men, expect to pay more. As a result of being "mislead," as well as displaying complete shock on my face, the price was eventually reduced to $1,200. I was encouraged to do something for myself...step out of my cocoon! Quite the pushy salesperson. I left. What kind of business negotiates this kind of price difference for the same "membership?" They appear willing to accept as much as you will pay. Some have paid $5000, and some have likely paid less. I guess paying for matchmaking is similar to buying a car...it's negotiable, and everyone has a price. Do not waste your time with SC Matchmakers! My family, friends, and I were all extremely disappointed in this unprofessional experience.
