However it is a nice quiet setting and would be fun for groups of people but only in the summer. Beach huts - well sounds like they are on the beach, no it was a 5 minute walk along roads. Then when we get to the beach the sign "dangerous currents and beware of the snakes!" The beach huts themselves are quirky and fun but cold and there is no heating in the bathroom which was freezing! There is only a microwave in the room and a BBQ outside in the small garden area. However there is the village hall which has cooking facilities. The Restaurant was closed on the nights we were there, again disappointing as there is no where within walking distance to eat out!

It is so cosy and comfortable, and we were greeted by the owner Robyn, who is absolutely gorgeous! I ordered the 'Country Smoked Bacon And Poached Eggs' ... this was MASSIVE! The bacon was so meaty and smoky (seriously, that is the best description I could come up with), and the eggs were cooked to perfection, served with a slow roasted tomato and 'stone baked toasted loaf'. I tried my best, but I could not finish it all (I really tried, it was delicious!!). Anita had the Willunga Sausage, Beans And Fried Egg - the sausage was actually chorizo, and was equally delicious. Again, a massive meal (which she finished) - well worth the $17 and $20 respectively. Coffee was delicious, and the service was friendly and prompt. There are a lot of other goods around the cafe, like soaps, organic wine, jams, chutneys, etc. I'm looking forward to coming back here for lunch and sampling the tasting platters with some yummy wines!!

The café appears to be an old barn with very nice décor, gifts, and a nice outdoor seating area in good weather. There's a steady stream of cars going through here - good for the owners, and I'm guessing that helps keep the costs low, too. It's as good a value as most up in the metro area. Luckily there's six bays available, so even if they're all full it's usually not long before one's free.

Kidogo Cottage is a little self-contained cottage in McLaren Vale. It is small and cosy but has everything you need for a short stay, including a kitchen, bar fridge, tv with dvd player and movies, board games, wood-burning fireplace, a private bedroom and attached ensuite bathroom with shower. The cottage is situated in the middle of beautiful vines in the heart of the vale. When you sit on the large front deck, you can't help but get lost in the gorgeous views! The cottage also boasts a full-size hot tub spa that is built into the front deck, and offers access to a small pool, too. My partner and I have spent two weekends at Kidogo. The first was two years ago, and we've been talking about coming back ever since. We finally managed that second visit a few weeks ago, and everything was just as lovely as we remembered. The owner, Kerrie, is fantastic to deal with and always leaves a nice bottle of wine and breakfast provisions for us. In short, Kidogo Cottage is the perfect place to plan a charming, quiet getaway in McLaren Vale.

Corinium Roman Villa (CRV) came up high on an internet search for a BnB down south for our weekend away. A good-looking, professional website backed up by some positive reviews made it a no-brainer for us to choose, and we were really happy we did. It was such a great experience. The owners were quick to respond by email prior to our visit and professional. When we arrived, they were friendly and helpful in settling us into our room for the weekend, giving us a brief, but informative explanation as to all of the amenities and food/drinks on offer, including the homegrown tomatoes, plums in the plum jam and the honey from their own beehives. They offered up recommendations for local eateries and a discount card for our dinner too! They have a booklet on the history of the place - i won't spoil it but it's certainly been an interesting journey so far! A spectacular garden with equally enticing views make it feel like you've saved thousands of dollars and hours of waiting in airport queues and wading through metal detectors and popped off to Italy for a relaxing weekend away, and it's only a 80-90 minute drive down basically one really long road from the Adelaide CBD. On your doorstep, from Inman Valley, you've got sea-view lookouts, beaches, jetties, links golf courses, microbreweries and world-class wineries all within a 20 minute drive. We found out as we were checking out that the local restaurant where we ate had used figs grown in the CRV garden for one of their tapas dishes that we so thoroughly enjoyed! Love the local vibe! The facilities are top quality, a comfortable bed and couch, outdoor chairs for catching some fresh air, a BBQ and a roomy spa to properly relax. Bliss. Our bacon and eggs with fresh bread breakfast was phenomenal too. We will most definitely return and i highly recommend you get down to CRV and get that affordable and relaxing slice of Italy, because, well, let's be honest - you deserve it ;-)
