The person I initially called said the plumbing is likely beyond their expertise but call Joseph Sale at this company. so I did. Initially he seemed eager and came over right away. But I asked him also about an egress window. There are a few key things this house needs asap or sooner than later. So when he initially came over right away and went in the basement to see the bedroom for a proposed egress window, he saw other things that are genuinely needed sooner than later and gave an overall quote for thousands of dollars worth of supplies and work and was ready to start right away. but it was around Thanksgiving or right after and it's not my house and the holidays aren't when you want major repairs or renovations to occur. And we really need to space things out for multiple reasons. I finally texted him back recently (we'd texted back and forth when he first came over and he was responsive back then) and asked for a written breakdown proposal/ estimate of individual jobs: like one job is the tub faucet and tub replace (a major undertaking to even consider in winter, especially with one bathroom), and the leaky sink faucet and install quick shut offs, and one is the cost to replace the water heater, maybe/ probably adding the time/ cost to extend the gas line to allow a gas water heater to go with the gas furnace instead of the current electric one, one is the cost to possibly replace the old galvanized pipe and the water heater at the same time and give a written proposal for copper pipe versus plastic (the world is drowning in plastic - literally- and micro plastics are being found in breast milk but I'm supposed to assume the newer more flexible plastic pipe is fine just, mostly because it's so much cheaper), how much would the egress window be by itself... in writing please. and please tell me what would we need to do to prepare for any or all of the above because that's another thing with dealing with all the stuff near and around the proposed jobs... and it's not my house ... so I need details to be able to speak to the owner and know what I'm getting myself into because I'd need to help or it won't (and couldn't) physically happen. Any of it. I texted on a Saturday I think, but said PLEASE don't answer now; it's the weekend. and it doesn't have to be immediately. but would you please mail a written breakdown of proposed jobs and costs within the week. Didn't happen. It's been almost 2 weeks now since I sent that text. I just hope he and his family are all okay! and that there's nothing wrong that's kept him from even answering and saying I don't have time so you'll have to find someone else. He told me how busy he tends to be these days and I haven't been able to find any contractors or even a handyman/ handyperson willing to give you the time of day unless you're going to spend a minimum of $300-500 for 1 1/2 to 2 hours worth of work and $50 in supplies and maybe a half hour travel time total (recent true story!), and even then they OFTEN don't seem to think even JUST A RESPONSE is in order. I'm pretty sure just a water heater and gas line etc. to make it a gas water heater would be $1500ish for $500 in parts, but that's fine. I'll start looking soon for a certified water heater/ gas person/ contractor, hopefully who will also do the tub faucet and maybe the tub at the same time (for more of course) and/or at least the leaky sink faucet and quick shutoffs, and will give a written quote to begin with, which will be the start of healthy boundaries and guide for us all. I still welcome a written estimate/ proposal because it's still useful info for work that needs done sooner than later, but it takes time and reasonable expectations on both or all sides to make it happen.

They finished the projects ahead of schedule and work with our changing timelines. Bonnie, pays up close attention to minor details & has them fixed before problems even became noticeable. That's something I appreciate so much. Ryan, took so much of his time taking phone calls and answering questions/or giving me his advice on which products are best. The project was quick, we purchased the house and didn't spend much time in it. We knew we wanted certain things done initially, but as time went on and we spent more time in the house, we added many projects on top of the original requests. Actually the order from the other never came in and we finally just cancelled the order. So we are given a date for the carpet to arrive at Carpet one...... didn't happen. Installation was postponed for weeks later. They scheduled the installation for 10 am. We moved all of our furniture off the carpet stuffing bathrooms and kitchen with furniture. On the very day of scheduled installation and right at 10 a.m. they call to postpone for the next. I went into the store to make my feelings heard. They then agreed to show up a couple of hours later. They removed the old carpet and pad and only installed the new pad, leaving us with exposed tack strips and our furniture still stacked up. Absolutely not what we were expecting. This is only three rooms! I'm guessing that it wasn't enough of a job to apply full effort at it. Until tomorrow or possibly even later we will be enjoying our freshly laid padding and tack strips. Thank Carpet none.

For…read moreone reason or other, my heater ("Quality (horsepucky) heating) has gone out every single year without exception. Winter #5, I called another repairman. He kind of scoffed when I mentioned "Quality" and with obvious reasons. So repairman number 1 cleans it all out, gets it running again and says they will order yet another flame sensor. Meanwhile, Greg, who incidentally, has been quite kind through all this, calls Quality to come out. I want someone to get to the bottom of the issue. Twenty years in my condo, never saw a single heating issue. Now I have issues every year, probably due to poor install. So Quality comes out, replaces the sensor that I've already paid $90 via the other company and I get a bill for $89. I pay the $89 but I'm ticked and tell them as much. Then lo and behold, they decide to send a bill to include $80 for the flame sensor!!! I'm livid at this point and call and the creep is flippant and rude as hell having no qualms whatsoever about the additional charges. Rockwell is awesome and I love my home more than I can say. But they definitely need to cut ties with heating company. The company is totally dishonest and greedy.
