Southport is not exactly short on fish and chip shops, with there being at least ten within the immediate city centre area as well as various others on the outskirts, like South Garden.
Sat not far off the end of Eastbank Street, South Garden is a decent chippy that ticks all the boxes when it comes to providing its customers with greasy, potatoey delights.
Their menu features the usual selection of exotic Chinese meals contrasted with traditional English chippy delicacies like sausages, pies and scallops. Their fish is pretty reasonably-sized and tasty enough and their chips are not too crispy or soggy, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go here, especially if you're in the city centre, as there are better chippies there. read more
